CH. 16 (Elle)

Vampires

Like real Vampires.

I mean it made sense, no human being could even begin to look as good as Emmett does.

Then you factor in the cold hard skin super paleness unique eye color oh and the blood lust.

But as I'm standing here watching Emmett struggle to find his words I can't help but still love him. Of course I thought about leaving him and his entire life behind, but the thought nearly crushed me.

I can't be without him, he IS my life now.

Honestly he's still the same guy I fell in love with, he's just a vampire.

And is that really so bad?

I mean seriously, if he wanted to drink my blood wouldn't he have done it already?

After Emmett and I talked and we stayed in each others embrace, I asked if I could spend the night.

"Are you sure you want to?" Emmett asked worriedly.

"Yes, unless you guys don't want me to. I can understand that, I've already caused enough trouble for one night." I said sadly.

I had already figured out poor Jasper and Nessie had lost control because of my blood, it was my fault this whole thing happened.

"We will always want you over as long as YOU want to be over. And you haven't caused any trouble. It's all that fucking Mutts fault that all of this happened!" Emmett growled.

"Mutt? You keep saying that, is it because he's not a vampire? Am I a mutt?" I asked simply.

Emmett roared with laughter.

"No babe you're not a mutt and thank god for that. No Jake's a mutt because he can turn into a wolf."

My eyes grew wide, when my boyfriend revealed himself as a vampire, I never stopped to consider that there might be werewolves as well.

"A Werewolf?" I gasped.

"Technically no, more like a shapesifter. But werewolves do exist, but I've never encountered one personally." he explained.

I just nodded.

"I'm guessing there's a lot that I still need to know." I said as I grabbed his hand and we walked back to the house.

He just gave me a weak smile and nodded.

When we reached the house everyone was still pretty much in the same spot. Except now Kate and Tanya plus Garrett and his parents were there.

I saw Jasper sitting to the back of the room by his self, looking completely torn up inside.

I let go of Emmett's hand and made my way over to him.

He looked up as he stood then I just hugged him.

His arms slowly and carefully wrapped around my shoulders and then he spoke into my hair.

"Elle Darlin' I'm so so sorry, I swear I never meant for that to happen and I'm sorry if I scared you but I will never hurt you I promise that."

I stepped back so I could face him.

"It wasn't your fault Jasper, it was mine. If I wasn't just standing there bleeding like an idiot instead of running to the restroom or something maybe you would have regained your control or something." I admitted. "I'm sorry."

Emmett growled.

"It's neither of your faults, if jake had listened to Esme and stopped messing around in the house so carelessly none of this would have happened."

Just then Carlisle spoke.

"Elle, I know this is a lot to adjust to. And we want you to know we will stand by whatever decision you decide to make. If you choose to want no part of this life and you don't want to speak to us anymore we will gladly move but we ask only one favor for both your safety and our own, you must keep our secret."

'Leave? They would just leave me, but I love them like my family. I love Emmett, I can't live without him.' I panicked in my head.

Then Edward spoke.

"Elle we will only leave if that is what YOU want, otherwise we will stay in your life for as long as you will let us."

I looked up at Emmett and he kisses my forehead. "of course I want you to stay, I love all of you and I can't imagine a future without Emmett in it." I said.

Everyone smiled.

Alice and Kate walked up to me happily then we all three hugged.

"You don't know how bad we wanted to tell you." Alice said.

"Why didn't you?"

"Because Emmett is your soulmate and he asked if he could be the one to tell you." Alice explained.

Soulmate.

That would explain my intense feelings for him so suddenly.

I looked over at my boyfriend as he spoke to his brothers proudly.

Then Edward walked over to me and the talking stopped once again.

"Well" Edward began "now you know we're vampires, and we're different because unlike most vampires we survive off of animal blood." Then he continued "But Bella, Jasper, Emmett, Alice, Elezar, Nessie, Kate, and myself are also different."

I looked at him with curiosity.

"We all have gifts or talents that other vampires don't have." He answered. "Alice can see the future."

She rolled her eyes " I can see whatever path somebody is on in life, I can see as long as you make a decision. But the minute you decide on something different your future changes." She explained.

Edward spoke again "Jasper can manipulate others emotions. And Emmett has this extreme vampire strength. He is the strongest vampire known in existence."

I looked over at Emmett and he winked at me making me smile.

"I" Edward said "can read minds and Bella has this amazing protection shield."

"Elezar, has the ability to determine someone's gift and it's strength." He said as a dark haired man that I'm assuming is Garrett's dad or maybe his brother, smiled and bowed his head slightly.

"Kate, well she has what we call psychic electrokenisis."

"What can I say...I'm electrifying " Kate smiled.

"And what about Nessie?"

Edward beamed as he looked over to Nessie and back at me. "She is very special but her gift is that she can speak to you through touch."

This was all so amazing and I couldn't stop smiling.

Then Edward walked back over to Bella and Emmett came and stood next to me.

"So you know our cover stories right?" Emmett asked as a rhetorical question. "Dr. And Mrs. Cullen have 7 adopted kids and Kate and Tanya are sisters and Elezar is Garett's step brother making Carmen Garett's sister in law." He said waving his hand to try and speed up the process.

"Well for starters Tanya and Kate are sisters, not biologically but creator wise." He said and I nodded. "We consider them cousins because we've know them for a very long time and we all have the same 'diet' if you will."

"Carlisle is Edward, Esme and my creator. Edward is Bella's creator, and every couple you see in this room is actually married."

My mouth was wide as I turned to my two best friends.

"How come you didn't tell me you guys are married?" I asked sadly.

"It was part of the secret." Kate answered just as sadly.

I nodded then remembered something.

"You didn't mention anything about Nessie."

Edward and Bella smiled and then Emmett spoke "Nessie is Bella and Edward's Daughter."

"They created her?" I asked.

A light Chorus of laughter filled the room and I felt my cheeks grow hot.

"Well they didn't bite her, she is their biological daughter." Emmett informed me.

"Vampires can have babies?" I asked in amazement.

He shook his head sadly "No, Bella was a human when she got pregnant, the delivery nearly killed her so Edward HAD to turn her."

I stared wide eyed at Bella and she gave me an awkward smile.

After that it was just like a little gathering everyone was talking to everyone.

I met Carmen and Elezar who are both of Hispanic origin and insanely nice.

It turns out Elezar used to be part of the Volturi, the vampire worlds leaders. He told me they thought of themselves as royalty.

He told me they are vicious and scary and strongly enforce the vampire law, so I MUST ALWAYS keep the secret otherwise they will kill not only me but the Cullen's and Denali's as well.

Then Bella announced that it was Jake and Nessie's bedtime. "Wanna come Elle?" she asked smiling.

I agreed and followed.

When we got to the lake house I saw that Jacob went and crashed in one room and Ness another.

I sat in the living room an waited for Bella to come back.

"Sorry about that," she said when she came back almost ten minutes later. "Renesme loves her bedtime stories."

"Still?" I wondered, I don't know of very many teens who still wanted their parents to tuck them in and read them a bedtime story.

"I'll explain. But First, Hot Cocoa?"

I nodded and she went and made me a big mug of hot chocolate, she handed it to me and then sat on a chair opposite me.

"As Edward said, Renesme is special and as Emmett told you she is my biological daughter. Meaning she is half human half vampire. Just like a human she ages and eats food and sleeps, but because she's part vampire the aging process for both her body and mind moves at a faster speed. I gave birth to Renesme just two years ago. So even though she's brilliant and has the appearance of a 15 year old, she's really just a toddler." she said filling me in.

That explains her bubbly and hyper child like personality I thought.

"Also! She has the vampires thirst for blood. While food nurishes her body and keeps her alive, her throat aches for blood, which she also gets in animal form."

"Hang on, you said she sleeps, so you mean vampires don't sleep?" I asked panicking.

"Nope, no sleep. We dont have coffins, wooden stakes don't kill us, holy water doesn't melt us, and we don't spontaneously combust upon sight of a cross, and yes we have reflections."

"I'm gonna kill him." I said angrily.

"Who?" she asked

"My Boyfriend."

She laughed and then when she stopped She went into another bedroom and then walked back out with a big picture frame but I could only see the back of it.

"So as I'm sure you know, Emmett's been through a lot. And I know Elezar told you of the Volturi?"

I nodded to answer both of her questions.

She turned the frame around and laid it on the coffee table.

It was a collage frame with the word SISTERS in silver on the very top.

In each frame was a picture of three girls. Bella, Alice, and a stunning blonde with movie star beauty.

"That is Rosalie, Emmett's ex-wife." she said sadly. "Rosalie left Emmett to join the volturi, she ended up marrying Blake, or rather Prince Blake, progeny of Caius one of the three leaders of the Volturi Guard ." Bella said coldly.

She continued "For two years Emmett was a shell of the man he used to be. We all missed her. But then we moved here and not only was Emmett back to normal thanks to you, he was ten times better, improved so to speak." she said smiling up at me.

"I watched Rose and Em as a couple, they always did their own thing. She was too obsessed with herself to appreciate him. But with you it's like you are made for one another. One is always doing something to please the other." She finished as she turned the picture frame back over.

"I really do love him." I said honestly.

"I known you do." she said getting up. "come on, I'm sure your boyfriend is already missing you."

We left the lake house and went back to the main house.

Emmett pulled me into his arms when he saw me and placed a chaste kiss on my lips as everyone awed.

I blushed and buried my head in his chest causing even more embarrassing awes.

As I was sitting on Emmett's lap listening to him and Jasper talk about a trip to Vegas I tried to hide a yawn.

Emmett noticed and looked at his watch. "Come on Babe, it's past 2."

We went upstairs and once the door closed I smacked his arm.

He chuckled "what was that for?"

"For pretending to be asleep while I changed earlier." I said mad.

"Aww Babe I couldn't help it." he said as he put his big arms around my waist and pulled me close to him. "Plus you looked so fucking sexy." He said giving me that smirk I loved so much.

"Fine but no more secrets."

"No more secrets." he promised.

I grabbed the same green top from earlier and began to undress.

"What?" I asked as Emmett stood there open mouthed staring at me. "aren't you going to get undressed too?" I asked as I pulled down my jeans.

When I got my top over my head Emmett was already standing there in just his boxers.

All I could do was stare at him in amazement.

I forgot everything else and walked forward and he eagerly took me into his arms and began to kiss me.

As our kiss deepened he lifted me by the butt and I wrapped my legs around his waist as he walked us to the bed, never once breaking our kiss.

Once we were on the bed his lips left my mouth as they trailed my jawline and then my neck, my fingers twisted into his dark curls and then he brought his mouth back to mine.

We finally stopped and Emmett quickly pulled the thick blanket over us.

"Sleep Babe, we can continue tomorrow if you want."

I laid my head on his chest an said "Good Night Emmett, I Love You."

Emmett was gently stroked the length of my hair down my back when he replied. " Goodnight Elle, I Love You Too."

Then he kissed my forehead and I drifted off into a peaceful sleep where I dreamt of my wedding day.

I was marrying Emmett Cullen.
