I took a deep breath as my dad pulled up at Meadowgrove Equestrian, I looked at him a few stray tears in my eyes.
"Sweetheart don't cry, we will talk every day before bed. Let's get you settled in," he spoke gently.
My parents couldn't afford both of them to take the day off, my mum insisted that my dad would go, since he was the only one with a license and he had a few work holidays to use.
Since everything was done by the school, all I needed were small things and some casual riding clothes when we are in lesson. My dad helped me unload Miracle from float. I gently stroked her neck, seeing a man in his late
40s walk up.
"Ahh miss Mary-Anne Atwood," he smiled at me before noticing my father, "You must be her father, Mr Atwood pleasure to meet you, firstly I want to welcome you to Meadowgrove Equestrian." My dad shook his hand allowing the man to continue.
"I am headmaster Mark Russell, firstly congrats again Miss Atwood on getting the scholarship. This must be your horse Miracle, she is a lovely horse."
He waved a man over that was standing to the side, "Meet Niall Horan, he is the stable hand here. He also studies here too, he will take Miracle to her stall. Please give him her feed so he can make sure that he has the right feed for your horse," Mr Russell said.
I gently waved to Niall handing the reins to him, Miracle neighed as she was taken away to the stables. We began to walk with Mr Russell once my dad got the box out from the trunk. Walking through the halls, I had never felt more nervous than I do now, my heart was racing through my chest. The students stared at me as I walked, some slightly laughing at my clothes as they weren't as high end as there's.
Mr Russell stopped at the main office to grab my dorm keys and map, once he handed them to me. He introduced me to Miss Rosewell, the counsellor here at Meadowgrove Equestrian. She proceeded to finish the tour since we were heading to the girls section of the dorm areas.
"Now you won't have to share rooms with any girls as we all have our own rooms, if a friend sleeps over there is a spare mattress in the room. Breakfast is at 7:30 am, classes start at 8:30, lunch is at 12:30 and dinner is at 5:30. You will also be given credits on too which you can spend on food for your dorm or you can save them and use them whenever you want," Miss Rosewood explained.
I nodded before stopping when she did, we stood in front of a dorm room that labeled 306, I used my key and opened the room gasping at the room. It was beautiful and very white but never the less it was cute.
My dad and I walked inside taking a better look at the room, there was a double bed, work a beautiful wooden nightstand next to it, with a white desk at the end of the bed and a white chair.
"Lights out is at 9:30 pm, you can ride your horses until 8pm. Your class schedule is in your bedside draw, I'll leave you two alone," Miss Rosewood said.
My dad and I watched her leave before I turned to him. More tears shined in my eyes, a few spilled out as I opened my mouth, "I love you dad, I'll miss you and mum. Thank you for believing in me."
"Always darling," he gave me a small hug before helping me unpack and get my closet ready.
Once that was done, my dad kissed my cheek before leaving me in my dorm room.
"The first day is always hard," I looked up to see a girl standing there, she had blonde hair and blue eyes. "Sorry my name is Emily, my first day was a few years back and boy was it hard."
I smiled gently, "Yeah you can say that, nice to meet you. I am Mary-Anne Atwood."
"Well Mary-Anne welcome to Meadowgrove Equestrian. If you need anything I'm just across in room 312," Emily said.
"Thank you," I smiled softly.

Later on that day, I headed towards the stables to see Miracle and to give Niall her feeding requirements, I looked to my right to see a man in the arena with a beautiful black horse. Him and his horse flew over the jumps like it was nothing, his face full of consideration as he jumped each jump.
I slowly made my way over towards the arena and watched for myself. His posture was pure elegance, he looked up to see me and slowly slowed his horse down. A small smile appeared on his lips, his horse came to a complete stop.
He unmourned from his horse, gently grabbing the reins and slowly walked over towards me, "Hi, I'm Louis Tomlinson. I'm a senior here at Meadowgrove Equestrian."
"Hi Louis, I'm Mary-Anne Atwood, sorry if i disturbed you," I replied.
Another gentle smile left his lips, "Oh no, you didn't disturb me. I'm actually surprised you were so quiet, normally I have girls squealing or cheering but you, not really."
I bit my lip, "I only cheer when necessary like at an event, I have never liked to distract other riders."
Louis let out a small chuckle, "That's actually a really good thing to do, so how did you get here to the school?" He asked.
"I got the scholarship, I couldn't afford to go to school to a place like this," I replied. I wasn't ashamed as to how I got here, since it was my hard and commitment that got me here.
Louis smiled once again but it was a gentle smile, "That's amazing, don't worry a lot of us don't judge, some do but others not so much. We actually admire those who come with scholarships, as we know it's good competition."
I relaxed at his words, "Oh that's great, I was a little worried as I noticed a few girls when I arrived laughing at my clothing choices. I was a bit worried, even though I know that I have nothing to worry about as I have just as much passion as them."
Louis nodded, he began heading out the ring with his horse behind him, "I've got to get Star to his stable."
I stepped away from the arena gate so he could leave, I followed him as I was heading there too. Once inside I walked to where Miracles stall was and saw her standing there.
"Oh Mary-Anne do you have her feed requirements?" I heard Niall ask behind me making me jump a little.
I turned to face him and reached onto my pocket, "Nothing major just no oats. It makes her a little frisky."
Niall nodded and grabbed the paper from my hand, "Thanks."
"Niall, mate how are you?" I heard Louis ask Niall, the two of them shook hands before hugging for a few seconds.
"I'm great man, and you?" Niall asked Louis.
"I'm doing very well, I have to head back to my dorm but I'll see you tomorrow sometime Niall," Louis said.
I face Miracle a small few pats before heading back to my dorm as well. Once inside I went over my timetable for my classes.
Once I finished doing that I made sir I had my uniform and riding gear out ready so i wouldn't have to rush
