Pinkie Pie's POV
"Pinks, you have to stay here until you're better," Rainbow Dash said, attempting to keep me grounded. I shrugged her hands off my shoulders and struggled to get back on my feet. Applejack surprisingly held me from my underarms and lifted me off without a struggle. I staggered until she put an arm under me for support. Rainbow looked at us with a stunned expression. "AJ... She's hurt. Are you really gonna –"
"I admire a person who's willin' to go outta their way to get to their family... Because that's what I did when I ran away from home," Applejack interjected while helping me regain my balance. "Something's tellin' her to go, Dash. Just the same way somethin' told her to go to Sugarcube Corner."
"But –"
"Thanks, AJ..." I smiled faintly in her direction and looked over at Rainbow who looked both defeated and worried. I steadily walked in her direction and wrapped my arms around her in a tight embrace, "I know you're worried, Dash. Just trust me when I tell you – I'm going to be fine. I have my teleportation on my side if anything comes up."
"That's what you think... But I know you'll end up gone too," Rainbow Dash whispered quietly with a pained tone in her voice. I pushed her away in shock, only to be greeted by a startled response.
"Whoa... What's wrong, Pinks?" Rainbow Dash asked confusingly. I stared at her in disbelief.
"I'm not going to end up gone, Dash... Why would you say that to me?" I responded to her with a saddened voice. She looked over at me with widened eyes.
"I-I didn't say that... Out loud, at least..." She said sheepishly and averted her gaze to the floor. A sudden look of realization washed over us both at the same time.
"You can read minds?"
"I can read minds?" We both shouted together. Meanwhile, Applejack was standing off to the side eyeing us oddly. At that moment, Rainbow and I forgot about the reason why we had even been discussing something so serious in the first place. We smiled at each other quickly before I carefully stepped off to the side. The tourniquet Dash had made was still tied securely around my thigh. I looked up at both Rainbow and Applejack, "It's nearly nighttime... Hide out in one of the hotels until I get back, okay? I love you both... Be careful."
"We will," Applejack responded with a small nod. Rainbow looked at me with a determined gleam in her eye.
I turned around and reached into my pocket to hold onto my element of harmony. I clutched onto the crystal tightly in the palm of my hand and shut my eyes before thinking back to the last time I was at the rock farm...
When I opened my eyes, I was at the center of the rock farm. It was incredibly windy. A mixture of brown and grey dust flew in every direction of my surroundings and nearly shrouded the family home. I squinted my eyes and struggled to run toward the small log cabin where my family stayed. Unfortunately, I was only able to limp to my destination.
When I looked down at the element crystal, it began glowing once more... But noticed the closer I got to the cabin, the more it began to dim. I eyed it curiously, but nonetheless began my trek toward the home. When I arrived at the front porch of the home, the crystal went out entirely. It was dull and lifeless in my hands. I tapped onto the crystal, hoping it would begin glowing once more to no avail.
"You were glowing for a reason..." I whispered and spun around to face away from the home. The crystal was still dull, but the tiniest hint of blue appeared. I looked up, still squinting my eyes to avoid the debris from flying into my eyes. As I began limping forward away from the house, the blue grew a bit more saturated and brighter than before. "Bingo!"
It was then I realized that I was playing my own version of 'hot and cold' with my element crystal. I giggled to myself at the realization and began moving onward in the direction that the crystal would glow. The sky above had begun to grow darker with each minute I spent walking onward. I had already past the silos were I threw my first party for my family. Soon, I finally found myself standing beside the family well. It was a well made entirely of stone and was topped with a small wooden roof that had a rope and bucket sitting on the side.
I narrowed my eyes and peered down into the well. It almost seemed like a bottomless pit from where I was looking down, but the element crystal was glowing extremely bright as I leaned my body forward into the well. I gulped loudly and stared down at the endless well. I clutched onto my element so tightly my knuckles turned white and lowered it into the well. The glow grew even brighter, and it even begun lighting up a portion of the well.
"I hope this is right..." A shaky sigh escaped my lips as I threw my legs over the stone well. I hitched my breath as I had to forcefully pull my leg over the stone wall of the well. A little tear fell from the corner of my eye in pain. My entire body began trembling as I exhaled deeply while looking down at the well. I shut my eyes and used the balls of my palms to push myself and launch into the abyss of the well.
A loud scream echoed through the stony walls of the well as I fell further down. When I opened my eyes, the element was glowing so brightly it had turned pure white, nearly blinding me. I shut my eyes once more and continued screaming in fear.
"G-Giggle at the ghostly... G-Guffaw at t-the grossly..." I was singing and crying at the same time now, but the song that usually aided in helping feel better wasn't working. The element crystal was dimming slowly but surely. I was too afraid at this point, and I was once again enveloped in darkness when my body plunged into the freezing cold water at the bottom of the well.
My ears popped loudly and my nose was now filled with the dirty well water. I was struggling to open my eyes, but luckily my fingers were still wrapping around the crystal tightly. With my free hand and my good leg, I struggled to kick myself up to the surface. I didn't know how deep I was, but it seemed endless as I desperately tried to get to the surface.
Calm down. Calm down, Pinkie... You're going to make it.
I swallowed the last bit of breath I had left in my body. I kicked with all my strength and used both my arms to push me forward to the surface. As my head began feeling lighter, and my lungs begun feeling strained, my head finally emerged to the surface with a loud splash of the water. I gasped and breathed in as deeply as I could.
"Oh... Oh my god..." I coughed, and struggled to regain my breath as my free hand reached out to the mossy stone bricks of the well to grab onto a corner that was sticking out in order to hold myself up. The element began glowing from underwater where my other hand was. I sighed in relief and eyed my surroundings. It was still a little too dark to really make out anything in front of me, but my vision began adjusting rather quickly to the darkness.
The stone bricks almost appeared the same, with the exception of a small portion across from me. The portion was covered in moss and mildew. I swam toward it and struggled to keep a hold on the wall in front of me. I eyed the brick that was hidden entirely by the vegetation and brought one hand up and punched it as hard as I could.
The impact stung my fist, but to my surprise, the stone bricks began shifting before my eyes. In a matter of seconds, the wall opened up and soon, the water and I drained into the large opening. I screamed in terror as I flooded down into the gaping hole of the wall into the unknown.
Soon after I hit something hard and face planted on the cold floor of wherever I was. Next thing I knew, I heard the stone walls shifting once more, this time with an echo in the air. Footsteps were heard and I feared that it was more Griffonstone recruits. I was fading in and out of consciousness by this point.
"P-Pinkamena?" A soft voice said from a distance. I pushed myself up as far as I could and noticed my element crystal fallen a few feet away from me, glowing vibrantly. I sat upright, and hissed in pain as I dragged my injured leg by my pants in front of me. I breathed out heavily and looked up only to see my family members wielding home made weapons which were – surprise – made entirely from stone.
Their clothing was torn in different areas and was stained with unknown substances. They were all notably slimmer than the last time I saw them, but besides that... I was finally here.
"Pinkie!" A familiar monotone voice exclaimed loudly. I was tackled back down to the floor by Maud. Her dull lavender hair was now past her shoulders and was frizzy at the ends. She was holding me tightly in her arms as I quickly wrapped my arms around her. Tears instantly fell from my eyes as I hugged onto my elder sister tightly. "I was so worried... I'm glad you're okay – we're glad you're okay."
"My God... Sweetheart!" My father, Igneous Rock Pie, stammered out and choking back tears. Next thing I knew, I was embraced by my entire family. My mother and father were first to come to my side before they were followed by Limestone and Marble. I swallowed hard and attempted to hold everyone at once by stretching my arms out.
"I missed you all so much... I'm so glad you're all okay..." I whispered out with a smile forming on my lips.
