Close.

Too close.

What are they whispering?

Why are they even laughing?

Thoughts whirled in Taehyung's head, while he watched them seated from the back not caring about the on going class.

Taehyung who had suddenly decided to go to class after all these days was surprised to see this scene in front of him.

He felt his insides churn in a weird way and he couldn't hear anything except their giggles.

"Taehyung!" Jimin whisper yelled but he did not budge until he was nudged by his elbow.

"What?" Taehyung snapped his head from them to the boy who was seated beside him.

"From the time you came here you've been staring at Y/n and Jungkook. What's wrong?" He furrowed his eyebrows.

I don't know myself..

"Nothing" Taehyung mumbled and paused, "Wait. How do you know Jungkook?" He asked creasing his eyebrows.

"Through Y/n. And guess what?" excitement laced in his voice, "He's from Busan too!"

"No wonder he's as annoying as you." Taehyung teased rolling his eyes.

"Yah!" Jimin accidentally yelled out loud.

"Mr. Park. Please be quiet." The professor warned Jimin which made him apologize repeatedly feeling embarrassed.

After Jimin apologized he saw Taehyung watching them again with an unreadable expression.

"Are you perhaps jealous?" Jimin whispered as Taehyung looked at him wide eyed taken aback by his sudden question.

Jealous? Taehyung thought.

Taehyung stilled for a second and shook his head scoffing, "No! Why would I be?"

"Sure" Jimin shook his head and rolled his eyes looking ahead while the other tried to concentrate on what the professor was saying.

But he couldn't.

When Taehyung looked ahead to see the professor his eyes caught Jungkook ruffling Y/n's hair playfully while she giggled.

That's when he felt something firing up in the pit of his stomach. His jaw clenched as he gripped his pen so tightly, that made his knuckles turn white.

Jealousy.

Jealousy was what Taehyung felt watching them.

Jimin on the other hand was observing him silently- the way his jaw clenched and eyes burned holes through their heads made one thing clear.

"Jealousy it is!" Jimin whispered under his breath with a small smirk decorating his plump lips.

He knew that Taehyung felt something towards Y/n more than a best friend. But he doesn't understand why he was acting in denial.

Hope everything works out properly.. He thought.

Taehyung was the first to leave even before the professor, when the bell rang. He didn't know why he was angry. He needed air so he ascended the stairs and reached the rooftop.

He wanted to be alone for awhile.

"Oppa" he heard a high pitched voice call him which made him shut his eyes tightly before opening again heaving a deep sigh.

So much for being alone.

"Leave me alone Eunha." he said his back facing her but she didn't listen.

"Let's go have some fun" she purred clinging onto his arm batting her eyelashes.

Taehyung was in the verge of loosing his temper.

"No. Leave me alone" he said in a stern voice.

"I know you want to!" She leaned and whispered into his ear.

Why doesn't she understand?! He growled.

He removed her arm from him harshly and faced her with an angry expression.

"I told you to Leave. Me. Alone." He growled in a low voice which scared the shit out of her.

Without a second thought she dashed away without closing the door behind her.

Taehyung sighed and shook his head as he leaned against the rails, closing his eyes and feeling the breeze.

His mind played the previous scene that happened in class.

He was annoyed.

Suddenly he felt a hand placed on his shoulder.

Taehyung turned around irritated with the thought of being disturbed again but that vanishes when he sees the person in front of him.

"Y/n what are you doing here?"

"I saw you walking up the stairs" she said.

"Oh so you finally saw me after class" he muttered under his breath.

"Are you okay?" She asked looking into his eyes back and forth.

No.  He said internally.

"Yeah, now go Jungkook must be looking for you" he said in an expressionless face.

"Jungkook?" That statement made her furrow her eyebrows.

Why him?

Wait.

That's when something struck her.

Is he jealous? She thought.

"Tae are you jealous?" She asked looking at him, a smile finding it's way to her lips.

He just ignored her, looking anywhere but her.

She held his cheek to make him face her. "Tae, I don't know why you felt this but you should know that you are my best friend and no one can ever replace you! Okay?" She smiled softly at him.

Her words and the way she looked at him, made his heart flutter.

So that's what was bothering me.. I was scared that I'll be replaced by him..  Taehyung thought as a smile adorned his face.

But deep down something kept nagging him. He didn't know what but he felt something else.

"He is just a friend. So don't worry" she said and he nodded his head slightly.

"You're so cute Tae, getting all jealous!" She laughed while he rolled his eyes and pouted.

"I never said I was jealous" he mumbled.

"But your expressions told me otherwise" she laughed.

"Oh! I have to get going now!" She said referring to her part time job.

"I'll pick you up in the evening." He said and she refused.

"No Tae I hav--" he cut her off by saying "It will be dark so I'll pick you up."

"No I hav--"

"It's not a bother, don't worry." He smiled and before she tried to say something he held her by her shoulders, turned her around and pushed her gently towards the door.

"Hurry up! You're running late." He said.

"Tae you--" he shushed her and gestured her to go.

"See you later Y/n!" He waved and she nodded with a slight troubled look and then sprinted off the door and down the stairs.

He smiled as he watched her.

A few hours later, Y/n was done with her shift. Just then the bell chimes indicating a person entering.

"Hey Y/n! Shall we go?" The person had a bag slung over his shoulder.

"Yup. Give me a minute." She smiled as she grabbed her bag and went to bid goodbye to Eomoni and the other two.

The bell chimes again as another person walked in.

The said person immediately sees the other and throws a What are you doing here? look.

Just then he sees Y/n walking towards  them.

"Y/n what is he doing here?" He threw the question to her.

"Tae, Jungkook and I have plans today. I promised to hel--" she replied but was cut off when Taehyung stopped her with an "Oh".

Y/n was trying to tell him that she was helping him with his notes but he didn't allow her to.

Taehyung felt hurt.

"I'll get going then." He said as he turned around and walked away despite his name being called over and over again.

While walking down the street he realised something.

He realised what was nagging him and why he felt something back then.

He finally realised that he was in love with Y/n.
