Tae's POV

I am in a meeting with this new brand who wants to collaborate with me.

I am trying to concentrate on the discussion but my mind keeps diverting to the feeling

Of those soft squishy lips against mine.

The electric jolt my body felt during that sweet moment.

The way she was so immersed, the way I was so immersed into that kiss.

The way she took my breath away when she started moving her lips.

I chuckled internally at her flustered face in the morning.

She couldn't make any eye contact and just wanted to leave asap.

Tae's mind - "She was soo pretty even in her morning hair."

I kept thinking about her while rubbing my lips with my fingers.

But to my bad, I was snapped out of it by a thunder of applause.

I immediately joined.

The brand representative stood up and forwarded his hand.

Brand represt.-" I am looking forward to this collab Mr. Kim!"

I shook his hand.

Tae - " Same here!"

I exited the meeting hall and was immediately stopped by Jimin, who had an annoyed look on his face.

Tae - " Hey!"

I greeted him.

Jimin - " Why are you taking up these new projects Tae, when you know what's more important right now."

I sighed and started walking.

Jimin - " We still have no clue of Damin and this is only gonna trigger Sir Kim's wrath."

He spoke while walking besides me.

Jimin - " Most of his anger bursts out on you, but still, you are busy here."

Tae - " This is also my job  Jimin."

I uttered

Jimin - " Just a cover up job-"

I immediately cut him off.

Tae - " No!..maybe for others, it might seem like that....but I really do enjoy what I do in here."

I stated firmly.

Jimin looked at me weirdly.

Jimin - " You are a mafia Taehyung!"

He enunciated.

Tae - " Not by choice."

I murmured and sighed.

Tae - " Anyways... about Damin....my men were searching for his family and they informed about getting some information....so let's see, what it is."

Time skip
Tae's cabin

Staring at Damin's family's picture I listened to jewon's explanation.

Jewon - " We tried scaring and torturing them a little too, but they just kept saying they have no idea of Damin's whereabouts."

I nodded

Jimin - " How's their living situation?"

Jimin who was smoking his cigarette asked.

Jewon - " They live at this small rented one room house outside the city.
Both the sons have dropped out of the school. The wife works in a small buisness at Ajudong.
They seem like really lacking the money."

Jimin and I looked at each other confused.

Tae - " For how long are they living like this?"

Jewon turned some pages in the file, he was holding and answered.

Jewon - " The wife is working in that buisness since last year, they moved to that small house 2 months back and the boys dropped out of school 6 weeks ago."

He summarised his notes.

Jimin - " Its been 3 months since our package was stolen ......Damin betrayed us, obviously for some luxury then how come his family is on the streets all of a sudden?... that's weird!"

Jimin scrunched his eyebrows in confusion.

Jewon - " I was thinking the same Boss...if Damin has joined the Jung's, wasn't he and his family supposed to be financially better or why else would he betray us?"

I closed the file and took a deep breath.

I tried to think harder.

Tae - " Where was Damin last tracked?"

Jewon - " At namsan road for 5 seconds."

Time skip
At night
2:00 a.m

I threw the towel on the couch and laid down on the bed.

Today definitely was a very hectic day.

I checked my phone but there was no message from Ara today.

I even called her during the day but she didn't picked up.

I called her again.

She didn't picked it up.

I messaged her.

Chat

Hi
How was your day?
I was really busy today.
Call me when you see my text.

Tae's mind - "It is late night so she might be sleeping."

I kept the phone away and switched off the lights and tried to sleep .

Ara's POV

Taehyung's call woke me up from slumber but I didn't picked it up.

I just wasn't feeling like talking to him, definitely not during the mid night.

Ara's mind - " How long am I gonna avoid his calls... eventually I have to face him....he literally works across my work place he could drop by anytime."

I suddenly felt myself sweating, I kicked my legs and threw the blanket off me.

Ara's mind - " Everything was going fine , we were doing great as friends, finally was getting comfortable and then this had to happen..whyyyyyy!! ??"

Now since my sleep was already broken  and I was already overthinking.

I decided to overthink while scrolling my phone.

I was scrolling through YouTube shorts when some notifications from Taehyung came.

I tried to read it through the notification but  all I could see was 'my text'.

Ara - " Should I open it?"

Ara's mind - " but then I'll have to reply."

I hovered my finger over his name.

Ara's mind - " No problem I'll leave him on seen."

Ara's mind - " No..but then he will surely know I am avoiding him."

Ara - " Ahh..fuck off!"

I switched my phone off and closed my eyes facing the other side.

Ara - " Sleep Ara sleep. "

Coffee zzang
6:30 p.m.

I just finished with my work, I quickly walked towards the locker to collect my coat and bag.

After getting my things I waved a bye to Seokjin who was working extra today.

I made my way out.

Opening the door, I quickly wore my coat and opened my phone to check for any texts or missed calls.

"So, you do check your phone."

I was started by a voice.

I raised my head to see, Taehyung standing in front of me with his hands inside his jacket's pocket and a straight face.

I wasn't ready to face him all of a sudden.

I took a step back.

Ara - " H-hi."

I stammered before gulping.

He was silent and kept looking at me with that intimidating straight face of his.

Tae - " Why weren't you picking my phone or answering my texts?"

He asked in a calm yet angry voice.

I was trying to avoid his eyes, as I wasn't able to make an eye contact.

Ara - " O-oh.... about that ....ha!...I just now checked my phone since yesterday... I just saw all your missed calls and texts."

He raised his eyebrows still not believing me.

Ara - " What happened Taehyung, is everything good?"

I tried to act oblivious.

He removed his hands from the pocket and crossed his arms.

Taehyung - " Shouldn't it be my question.......is everything good Ara?"

His voice softened during the latter question.

Ara - " Yeah... ofcourse.... everything's good."

I shrugged my shoulders trying to be nonchalant with my answer.

He nodded his head slowly.

Tae - " Ok then, let's hangout for sometime."

He said with a small smile.

Ara - " Whyy.....I-I mean where?"

I asked with a fake smile.

I don't know why I just couldn't get natural around him right now.

The moment I look at his face, I am reminded of the kiss and I want to slap myself for that.

Tae - " There is this beautiful park at a walking distance, let's take a stroll there."

I nodded.

We both walked towards the park.

Entering into the park, an unconscious smile appeared on my face looking at the beautiful view.

I looked at my side and caught Taehyung staring at me with a smile.

I immediately stopped smiling.

Ara - " Let's go."

He nodded.

Time skip

We were walking around for few minutes and Taehyung was continuously talking about some things whereas I was giving short answers 'cause my mind was somewhere else.

Ara's mind - " Should I talk to him about that.....I should atleast know what he thinks of that....he is acting as if it never happened...but what if it could make him awkward as well."

Tae - " Don't you ever think about it?"

Ara - " Yeah ..yeah...I think about that sometimes."

Tae - " Exac-"

Ara's mind - " But I have to talk, otherwise I will not be able to feel relieved, walking with him right now is making me feel as if there is a heavy stone on my heart...I have to relieve myself off this burden...I'll talk to him."

Tae - " Green tea is actually be-

Ara - " Taehyung, can we talk about the kiss?"

I blurted out.
