Disappointment.
I am fucking tired of hearing this word. But, it is not wrong, is it ?
Mom told me that I can't even do a single thing properly. She is right, isn't she ?
Of course, she is right.
Periods are normal. I am too weak to tolerate it.
Every girl get periods then why I am overreacting ?
She is correct.
I am overreacting.
I am being dramatic.
I am too weak to handle that pain.
I sighed as I rubbed my face with my palm tiredly.
"Calm down Olivia. Mom is just angry-"
"Oh please I know that. Will you please shut your mouth ?" I snapped at Sophia.
After Mom went, Hazel followed her out leaving me only with my younger sister-in-law.
Why I am always a disappointment to everyone ?
"Olivia, I am just saying. No need to get all hyper-"
"Sophia please I don't want to hear anything." I glared at her.
Why she is so annoying ?
She closed her eyes and took a breath like she is calming herself down. I rolled my eyes.
Mom and Lucas. My two loved ones are angry with me. I am literally fucking disappointment to them. I just want them to talk to me and-
"Ok, I am leaving, just take rest and if needed then take a painkiller-"
"Oh God, Sophia please shut the fuck up" I yelled at her.
"Lower your tone, Olivia" I flinched slightly when I heard a loud cold voice roared.
I glanced at my door only to see my second older brother and Sophia's husband is standing there, glaring at me furiously.
I clenched my jaw.
Here comes, her protector.
I rolled my eyes.
"What's with your attitude ? Is this the way you will talk to your elder ?" He marched towards us.
"Ethan, leave it. Let's go-"
"No Soph, she can't just disrespect you" He again turned his hard gaze on me.
Ethan is the deputy chief. His stone cold eyes always made criminals pee in their pants but I am not one of them. I glared at him back.
"Olivia, apologize right now" He ordered.
I rolled my eyes and leaned on my headboard.
Bullshit. I am not going to ask for forgiveness from anyone.
"Ethan, let's go"
Sophia sighed.
"Wait Soph. You get quite an attitude, huh ? She is elder than you, Olivia. Have some manners and apologize to her right now. I am telling you this last time" He gritted his teeth.
He undoubtedly looked scary.
"No, I am not" I muttered, clenching my fists.
His eyes blazed with anger as he tightened his jaw. He looked furious.
"OLIVIA FUCKING HERNANDEZ, APOLOGISE TO HER RIGHT NOW" He glared at me.
"Calm down, Ethan, it's ok" She kept her hand on his shoulder but his look doesn't faze from me.
"Why should I ?" I retorted back tired of these things.
"You literally disrespect her and I don't appreciate someone disrespect my wife. Say Sorry to her right now, otherwise I will tell Dad about this and you, out of all people very well knows how he doesn't appreciate disrespect in his house, hmm ?" His voice sounds cold. My heart clenched slightly. I stiffened at that.
I can't forgot that day. That day was a nightmare.
I glared at him furiously with now little tears in my eyes.
"Ethan enough, let's go" Sophia again tried.
He keep on glaring at me. It's like staring, more like glaring competition going on between us. When I felt, he is not going to backdown, I sighed and averted my glare towards Sophia.
"Sorry" I muttered, glaring at her.
"Sorry what ?" Ethan gritted his teeth.
I clenched my jaw.
"Sorry Sophia"
"Sorry for what, Olivia ?" He scowled.
I rolled my eyes at that.
"Sorry for being rude to you" I mumbled.
She nodded and replied, "I am a girl too, Olivia, I understand mood swings. Take care."
They left from my room.
Meanwhile...
Author's POV.
"It's negative, Will" A hopeless voice heard.
William sighed.
"I am not pregnant, Will" Tears brimmed in Hazel's eyes and eventually tears rolled down her cheeks.
William immediately pulled her in his embrace.
"It's ok, Haz, calm down" William kissed her head.
"No it's not ok, Will, I- c-can't, I want to b-become a M-Mom- but-" She cried harder.
William shut his eyes and tightened his hold around her.
A tear rolled down his cheeks when he remembered Doctor's words.
💭 Flashback 💭
Dr. Smith sat across from couple in the cozy, well-lit consultation room. The air in the room felt heavy with anticipation as Hazel clutched her hands together, her anxiety palpable. Noticing her state, William held her hand softly.
Dr. Smith took a deep breath and said, "Mr. and Mrs. Hernandez, I've reviewed your medical history and the results of the tests we conducted, and I want to be honest with you about what we've found."
Hazel nodded, her eyes filled with worry. "Please, Doctor, just tell me what's going on."
Dr. Smith maintained a reassuring tone as she explained, "Mrs. Hernandez, the tests have revealed that you have a hormonal imbalance. Specifically, it appears to be related to an irregularity in your ovulation patterns. This hormonal imbalance is affecting your ability to release eggs regularly, which is a crucial step in getting pregnant."
Hazel furrowed her brow, struggling to grasp the medical words. "So, you mean my hormones are all messed up, and I can't have a baby?"
Her eyes widened, her breaths started getting faster when she saw Doctor nodded her head. William noticed this and immediately kept his hand on her shoulder, pulling her close to himself.
Dr. Smith simplified her explanation, "Yes, in simpler terms, your body's hormones, which control your menstrual cycle and the release of eggs, are not working as they should. This can make it challenging to conceive naturally because the egg isn't released regularly for fertilization."
Tears welled up in Hazel's eyes as the weight of the diagnosis sank in. "So, does this mean I can n-never have c-children ?" She stuttered. Her heart dropped hearing the news.
"What are you talking, Doctor ? There should be any treatment for this, right ?" William's voice grew cold as his hold tightened around his wife, rubbing her back, trying to comfort her.
"P-Please listen Sir, I understand how disheartening this news can be, but I want you to know that this doesn't mean you can never have children. It means that achieving a pregnancy might be more challenging, but there are treatments and options available to help you overcome this hormonal imbalance and improve your chances of conceiving."
"What kind of treatments, Doctor ? Tell me" William asked.
"There are various treatment options, including medications that can help regulate your hormones and stimulate ovulation. We can work together to develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific situation and needs. It's important to remember that many women with hormonal imbalances successfully become mothers with the right medical support." Dr. Smith offered an encouraging smile to the couple.
"Did you hear that, Haz, hmm ? We will do everything. Don't worry, you will get pregnant and then we will have a beautiful baby, Haz, hmm ? Calm down now." He kissed in her hair.
💭 Flashback Ends 💭
"I-I am so s-sorry, W-Will" She mumbled.
William's eyes snapped open.
"What ?"
He pulled her out from the hug and looked at her, frowning.
"Y-Yes- Will, I-I- am s-sorry- I can't give you your c-child, Will, I am sorry, you are s-suffering because of me, I can't give Mom-Dad their g-grandchild, I-I- am so sorry, Will, please do one thing, please marry someone else-"
"Shut the fuck up, Hazel" William yelled at her. William's eyes widened in shock, a mix of disbelief and hurt etched on his face. He struggled to find words, the weight of Hazel's suggestion sinking in.
How dare she ?
"Are you serious, Hazel?" He looked at her in disbelief. His voice a mix of frustration and hurt.
She looked down as her tears rolled down. She actually can't see William with someone else but she don't want him to suffer with her. She don't want to be selfish. In all words, she just want William to be happy with his whole family, even if it meant to sacrifice herself and her love, she will gladly do it.
"You think that I married you because I want a kid ? You think I would just give up on us because things aren't going as planned ? You stoop me this low ? I can't believe this, Hazel." He scoffed, massaging his forehead.
"No Will, that's not what I mean-"
"Then what do you mean, Hazel ?" He asked her, sternly.
"I-I just- I just thought it would be easier for you, Will. I don't want to hold you back from having the family you've always wanted." She said staring in his eyes.
William held her arms. He stared in his eyes. His frustration turned into a stern expression as he said in his cold as well as firm tone, "Hazel, marriage is about more than just having children. We vowed to be together in sickness and in health, for better or worse. This is a challenge, yes, but we face it together. I didn't marry you just to have a child. I married you because I love you. I know you want children, I know you love kids. But, I just love you. Nothing else. Even If I can't get a kid, I don't care, I just want you. I need you, Hazel. I am here today at this position just because of you. You are not only my wife. You are my inspiration. I can't even think my life without you, Haz, please, promise me, you will never leave me. I love you, Hazel and I can't leave you for anyone."
Hazel looked in his eyes. His eyes held pure love. She felt the weight of his words, the realization sinking in that perhaps she had underestimated the strength of their bond. William softened his tone, reaching out to cupped her face, "We're a team, Hazel. We face challenges together, and we find a way through. Don't shut me out of this part of our lives."
Tears streamed down Hazel's face as she looked into William's eyes. "I just thought I was doing what's best for you."
He wiped her tears and said, looking deep in her eyes, "What's best for me is you, Hazel. We'll figure this out together. We can explore other options, seek medical advice, or even consider adoption. But giving up on us is not an option."
"I am sorry, Will. I will never say anything like that" She mumbled looking in his eyes. He smiled and pulled her in his embrace, "We will do everything in our hand, Haz and trust me, everything will be ok. We will soon get our babygirl, who will look just like you. I promise, Haz" He mumbled, kissing her hair.
"Babyboy" She replied.
"Nuh-uh, I want girl first"
"No, Boy"
"Girl"
"Boy"
"Ok, how about Twins ?" William smirked.
"Ok with me" She giggled and he chuckled at that.

"I am t-tired"
(Back to Olivia's Point of view)
My chest tightened as an ugly sob escaped. My hands trembled as I clutched at my chest, trying to find a grip on reality as it slipped through my fingers. The tears blurred my vision, turning the world into a hazy, distorted version of itself. Each sob was accompanied by a sharp intake of breath, the kind that felt more like a desperate attempt to stay afloat in an emotional tempest. My body shook with the intensity of the emotions coursing through me.
"I-I am d-disappointment-" the words escaped in a whisper.
"I want to die, I am tired" I cried and cried, fisting my hair tightly, trying to control my breath. But, I can't. My heart ached as big tears keep rolling down my already wet cheeks.
The edges of my vision started to blur, a dizzying sensation that heralded the arrival of a looming panic attack. The world became a disjointed series of fragmented images, and the room felt like it was spinning out of control. Each breath became more elusive, slipping through my fingers like sand.
My hands instinctively reached for something, anything, to anchor myself. Fingers grasped at the nearest surface, desperate for stability. The panic attack loomed closer, a dark shadow threatening to engulf me entirely. "Breathe," I muttered to myself, but the words seemed to get lost in the chaos. I started rubbing my chest, trying to take deep breath.
"P-Please, make it s-stop, it h-hurts-" I sobbed as my hands are continously rubbing my chest.
Eventually, My breathings get even. Beads of sweat formed on my forehead as I closed my eyes, trying to relax.
"Everything will be fine, Olivia, everything will be fine-"
"Nothing will be fine, Olivia. Because, You ruined everything."
