To the end
She smirks at me in my dreams
Fingertips pressed together
Eyes innocently vile.
A tilt of her head
A hint of her laugh
A tendril of cigar, twirling above her into the sky,
Makes me shiver with awe.
I wonder how she can be so captivating yet so cunningly murderous,
How she can breathe me in and spit me out,
How she can haunt me like a ghost.
A swish of her dress,
A click of her heels,
A thin-lipped smile,
Turns my heart to ash.
She's so bad for me, a drug I know that if I try I could quit,
But I can't let her go, so I continue to be charmed by her wit,
She has me round her fingers,
Playing push and pull,
Always down I'll do what you do,
And I know that I must stop,
I must listen to my reprimending friends,
Yet she's still my ride and die,
Yet she's mine to the end.
