Nalia's POV
Arriving at the Company almost half an hour later, Elijah dropped Diamond and I off at the parking lot, saying he has some errands to run.

Entering into building with my sister strutting behind me.

Passing by the receptionist's desk I saw a tatted lady with a pompadour hair cut, wearing a button down tropical shirt, black ripped jeans and black ankle boots.

Then I looked closer, I saw that she was holding a big furry dog on a leash.

It seemed like she and the receptionist were arguing.

I decided to go over and find out what's happening.

"Diamond, come with me" I signaled my head to the receptionist's desk.

"Excuse me, what seems to be the problem?" I asked and the both of them stopped their back and forth turning to face me.

The tatted lady looks at me up and down smirking.

"Hello gorgeous" The tatted lady says with an accent almost similar to Elijah's.

"Mind your business, this doesn't concern you" The receptionist says glaring at me in disgust.

This must be the new hire because the previous receptionist Laura, she knew how to do her job and act professionally.

I wonder what happened to her, oh yeah she's on maternity leave.

"Now, I'll ask you again why were you both arguing?" I raised my eyebrows to put more effect into the stern tone I was using on blondie.

"Who are you to demand things here?" Blondie who I checked her name was Adriana spits back rudely.

"Adriana was it? You must be new here, that's why you don't know me" I leaned both my elbows on the desk smiling menacingly at Adriana.

"I am your Boss and you're fired" She gasped with widen eyes.

"What that's impossible! People like you can't— it's doesn't make any sense" Adriana starts rambling while I was on my phone looking for the general manager's phone number texting him so he could come to the front desk and handle this trick.

"Believe what you want sugar, just know that when the hiring director, who was stupid enough to hire a child gets here, then you'll know who I am" Adriana still looked in denial.

Ignoring her I turned my focus to the tatted lady who looked amused at the whole conversation I was having with lil girl.

"Could you please tell me what the issue was and sorry for not introducing myself earlier, I'm Nalia Chen" Adriana scoffed muttering 'stupid poser' under her breath making Diamond and I laugh.

"The name is Logan Clarke and I'm here to see Elijah Newton" she says smoothly in her English accent.

'I've heard that name before where did I hear it?' I thought to myself trying to figure out where I heard it then it clicked

"Wait! You're Eli's best friend?" I asked her in an unsure tone.

"Yes the one and only" Holding my hand up she placed a gentle kiss on it while winking.

I quickly pull my hand from her grasp
"That's a cute dog is it yours?" I ask her to blow Logan just chuckled looking down at the dog who sprawled on the floor looking around.

"Baxter isn't mine, I'm just the caretaker for now" Logan tells me bending down to ruffled the dog's fur.

"Sorry I forgot to introduce you to my Sister Diamond Andrews" I pull Diamond from behind me to introduce her.

Diamond outstretched her hand, Logan looks at us in confusion.

"Sisters uh, but why are the surnames different?" She asks while shaking Diamond's hand.

"It's complicated" Diamond looks down then up laughing uncomfortably.

Mr. Williams the hiring director exited the elevator running towards the desk we all stood at.

"Ms. Chen I'm sorry for her crudeness towards you and for l hiring an unfit person for a such job. Please forgive me for my indiscretions" He apologized for something that is partially his fault.

"It's alright Mr. Williams I want her sacked for unprofessionalism and embarrassing the company's friendly image by being rude to Ms. Clarke and I and make sure she's blacklisted from working a job such as this, people like her aren't fit to be placed in the business world. Is that understood?" I said out loud so everyone in the hall could hear.

"What! Please don't do this I need this job" Adriana came around the desk begging me.

"Well honey, that's a YOU problem. Should've thought about that before the unnecessary rudeness" I gave her a sickly sweet smile.

"Come on Diamond, I need to show your your assigned department and Logan you could please wait in my office till Eli arrives?" I asked as we all got into the private elevator, I pressed the last floor and the close button.

Diamond and Logan were in their own little world chatting and giggles coming from Diamond and Baxter snuggling to my legs 'How cute he likes me already'

A few seconds later we arrived at my office "Welcome to paradise" As soon as I twisted the door knob, Diamond gasps with her Jaw almost hitting the floor.

"You have a soda and slushy machine!" Diamond runs over to the other side of the office to get a closer look.

"Mmhm" That was my only response.

"Logan do you want anything to eat or drink while you wait for Eli?" I sat adjacent to her petting Baxter who moved from his caretaker to my side.

"No, I'm good. Baxter seems to like you very much which is usually uncommon for him to show so much affection to strangers" Logan says talking out a pack of EXTRA gum from the chest pocket on her shirt.

"He's so cute and fluffy" I gushed rubbing Baxter.

Diamond must've finished exploring my office because her head popped out from the mini bar with a gummy bear bag in her hand.

"You got a whole diabetes wonderland built in your office" She sat next to Logan taking out a gummy bear from the bag, holding it to Logan's lips trying to feed her.

I saw the look Logan gave her when she ate the gummy bear and sucking on Diamond's finger before pulling back to chew on the rubbery candy.

This girl had the audacity to look down clearly blushing due to the little sexual innuendo Logan might have sent her way.

Who knows it might be mixed signals.
I internally shook my head.

"Please not in my office" I got off the couch walking to my desk.

I picked up the telephone punching in the number of the Brand Evaluation department head manager to come into my office for further instructions.

I dropped the call turning back around to see tatted woman sitting notably closer to my sister whispering things into her ear.

'It's probably something freaky to have her looking all flustered.'

I knew Diamond was enjoying this by just staring at her whole body language.

"This ain't my business" I walked around my desk settling on my chair then I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in" I inform taking out the new supplies I have for Diamond.

"Good morning Ms. Chen you called for me" Latoya walks into my office in greeting me politely.

"Good morning Latoya, I got an important task for you. Please have a seat you too Diamond." I beckoned both of them to sit in front of the two chairs in front of my desk.

"Latoya James, meet Diamond Andrews your assistant" I did the introduction while Latoya and Diamond looked at each other introducing themselves.

"Diamond, your job is to help Latoya with your absolute 100%. You'll be sorting out the remains of work for the department, while Latoya's job is to evaluate your progress or stagnation" I informed both women while they nod their heads.

"I prepared these to help you with your work, Diamond" I grabbed the iPad, Phone and Laptop off my desk handling them to her.

Earlier this morning, I called my secretary to bring them.

"These are strictly for work only not to be used for any personal reasons" I said in a warning tone.

"Thank you" Diamond muttered under her breath.

I turn my head to the right facing Latoya "Every two weeks time, I want a report on her performance. Are we clear?" I asked both ladies looking at them left and right.

"I understand Ms. Chen" Latoya gets up to leave.

"Yes Nalia" Diamond also got up to leave with Latoya but I stopped her.

I leaned forward on my desk with clasped hands and cold eyes.

"Oh and one more thing, since you're now my employee, you are to address me as Ms. Chen like every one in this building. Is that understood Ms. Andrews?" I sent a her a derisive smirk.

I could feel Diamond's anger but it's not her place to get indignant with me.

First, I don't have to help her if I don't want to.

Second, Granny didn't raise me to be a bitter person. So, I'm doing what I was morally taught by taking her in.

That little anger that she's brewing up better cool down before I actually lose my patience with her.

Diamond fixed her face "I understand Ms. Chen, thank you and have a good day" She let out an hesitant smile turning on her heels she and Latoya left quietly.

"That was hot" Logan says out of nowhere.

"I felt the tension" I laughed awkwardly.

"But you handled her and the girl downstairs" Logan compliments me clapping her hands while Baxter barked happily.

"Why, thank you can we say, I am the BOSS" I say in my awful British accent flipping my hair over my shoulders.

"I knew I liked you" Logan says with a following wink.

"What can I say, I was raised in different normality with innocent morality" I told her with a shrug she and I looked at each other for a few seconds before bursting into laughter.

The intercom cut off the gleeful
moment "Hold on" I told Logan who went back to typing on her phone.

"Ms. Chen sorry for interrupting you and your guest but Ms. Peggy Taylor from TNX swimwear came without making an appointment and she's demanding to see you. Should I send her in?" My secretary voice says through the intercom timidly.

"Send her back and tell Ms. Peggy that next time she should make an appointment after canceling on me multiple times. Thank you" I cut the call getting to work.
