"Sehra hurry up! We're already late." Krisha shouted at the brunette who was haphazardly trying to brush her damp hair, sipping her coffee and drafting an email to her juniors all at once.
"Shut up and let me concentrate on my hair!" The latter yelled back, equally exasperated by her heavy locks which would not just dry even after she had blow dried them for almost half an hour.
"Agar mujhe pata hota tu itna time lagane wali hai, I would've never volunteered to pick you up. Please just learn how to drive a car so that I don't have to be your chauffeur every fucking time." Nahvi walked in, leaning on the frame of the door, biting on what probably was her fifth piece of ferrero rocher, clearly annoyed by her cousin.
Sehra heaved a heavy sigh, banging her hairbrush on the vanity. She turned around, walking towards Krisha who was busy scrolling through her phone as she laid on Sehra's bed, held her by her wrist and dragged her towards the door, making her stand right next to Nahvi.
"I've had enough. Get out and let me get ready in peace." She huffed, closing the door on their faces. Finally getting some peace for herself, she walked back to her vanity and resumed dolling herself up, which pretty much consisted of her applying a shit ton of sunscreen, mascara and blush, not wanting to melt her makeup off due to the hot sun at the afternoon match.
Almost ten minutes after the two girls were kicked out by their best friend, the door to the room opened and Sehra hopped out, on one foot , her other knee perched up as she tried to tie her laces, the keys of her house between her teeth.
"Gwt aah phunge..." She rambled as the other two girls made faces, clearly not getting what she meant.
"I told you to get my phone, god why are you so useless!" Sehra rolled her eyes as she finally put her foot on the floor, walking towards the dining table to grab her phone that rested beside her sling.
"Say that again and watch me expose you before your so called crush." Nahvi turned away with a huff, not bothering to look back at Sehra as she walked towards the main door.
"YOU WOULD NOT!" Sehra yelled, running behind her, her phone and bag long forgotten. Krisha, who was busy texting her boyfriend before his match, noticed her best friend dashing behind the other, leaving her belongings right on the table.
"God! What would they even do without me." Krisha shook her head with a scoff, turning her phone off as she fetched Sehra's bag and phone before walking towards the main door and locking it.
"Gosh! It's so hot. The second inning hasn't even started and I'm already melting." Sehra cried, wiping her face as she grabbed yet another tissue, balancing her laptop with one hand.
"At least apni team ka to match dekh le acche se." Krisha smacked her head, suddenly getting up from her chair as she saw her boyfriend nearing them, his friends following.
"Babe! You were so good today." Krisha hugged Mayank, who reciprocated eagerly. Nahvi and Sehra made a face looking at their best friend show and her boyfriend PDA.
"Eww, don't do that in front of me." Sehra pretended to gag, side eye-ing the couple, making someone scoff at her reaction.
"Just because you are single doesn't mean others don't have the right to have partners." The brown eyed boy mocked her, making her roll her eyes in annoyance, knowing exactly who said it without even having to look up.
"Well there goes my streak of good luck, thanks to you." She replied, not bothering to look at the owner of the voice, making the boy snicker.
"Also, I'm not alone. You're just as single as me." Sehra taunted, her eyes finally landing on him.
"Well atleast girls die for me. Look at yourself." He derided, making the girl get up. He smirked, finally getting the reaction he was waiting for all along.
"Abhishek Sharma just shut up before I lose it. You remember I have the video of you sleeping with your mouth open right? You annoy me once more and that clip is going to be right there in srh's feed. Pinned." Sehra grumbled, emphasising the last word.
"Chal chal, I'm not scared of you." He replied, scoffing out loud. The Verma girl's annoyance doubled, as she leaned in, pointing a finger out at him as he leaned in as well, his oh so hot smirk not leaving his lips.
"You-" "Abhay chal! Travis has already padded up". They both heard, making them pull away from each other, yet none of them bothered to break eye contact.
Abhishek walked away front side back, not leaving her eyes, as she glared at him profusely. He gave her one last wink, before he turned around and ran down the stairs.
"Gosh, you both are so entertaining." Krisha laughed, as she sat next to Sehra. The other girl rolled her eyes hearing her best friend.
"The only reason I tolerate him is because you're dating his best friend. Or else I would've murdered him the day he spilled coffee on me." Sehra grumbled, trying to resume her work.
"Sehra that was one time. Also, it was an accident." Krisha replied, titling her head towards the right as she looked at her best friend.
"You know what? Just concentrate on the match." Sehra said, looking at Travis and Abhishek walk towards the pitch, warming up side by side.
"I'm so happy for you guys!" Sehra clapped as she side hugged Mayank, congratulating the others right after. She slowly walked towards everyone, giving them side hugs as the reciprocated as affectionately as her.
"Mujhe nahi karogi hug?" Abhishek whispered in her ear from behind, his warm breath hitting her neck, his lips slightly touching her earlobe. As she stood next to Aiden, she froze. Goosebumps erupted on her skin and she hoped that her orange jersey hid them.
As she took in a sharp breath to calm herself down, she turned towards him, giving him a sardonic smile.
"And why are you so eager to hug me? Don't tell me you're in love with me or something. That'll get too cliché." Sehra said, laughing, but froze as she saw the brown eyed boy near her. He leaned towards her, slowing reaching for her ear as he whispered, his cheek gently touching hers.
"Shouldn't I be asking you that? Miss anonymous poet?"
