A|N: I know this isn't my best rant. And I really regret posting this, but it needs to be said.

Okay so I'm just going to give you House stereotypes and then an example of a character that defied the stereotypes.

Gryffindor Stereotype: You can think of the Gryffindors as the jocks of the school. Brave, Courageous, Loyal. Al lot of them play sports. Popular.

Characters that defy them: Dumbledore: Yes,meh was brave. But he was so ambitious about 'The Greater Good' and that seemed like such a Slytherin thing to do. I'm not saying Slytherins can't be loyal, I'm just saying ambition isn't a characteristic for Gryffindors. Another would be Neville, who is extremely kind and caring, heck even Harry too, those are defiantly Hufflepuff characteristics.

Ravenclaw Stereotypes: Extremely smart; Nerds; They value intelligence over anything else.

Characters that defies stereotype: I actually need a Ravenclaw to help me with this one...I was thinking Luna since some of the creatures she describes may not be rel, but then again, curiosity is one of the characteristics so...

Hufflepuff Stereotypes: Kind, Caring, Friendly, Optimistic, Sometimes associated with 'weak'

Characters that defy stereotype : Okay, first I'd like to say that the ' Hufflepufs are weak!' Stereotype should be killed. KILL IT WITH FIRE. Hufflepufs are not weak. Everyone has weaknesses, that doesn't make them a weak person; it makes them human. Now example: TONKS. Like she is one of the most badass characters in the series! Do I need to say more?! Like who doesn't like Tonks? She is the opposite of 'weak.'

Slytherin: Ambitious, Sneaky, Resouceful, cunning.

Characters that defy stereotype: REGULUS BLACK. He is one of the under-appreciated characters that almost everyone forgets! Regulus Black, who was the ideal son, joining the death eaters at only 16, making his mother and father proud- and then figuring out that voldermort had horcruxes before DUMBLEDORE did, and dying doing the right thing, after leaving voldermort a note that basically said "hah I figured out your secret and now you're not immortal anymore." He was also the one the house elves were fighting for during the war! He helped housewives like Kreacher, and aI just get really mad when people don't recognize him. I'm making a separate rant about how great and complex this character is. REGULUS BALCK! Of course, there's also Snape who played double agent! NOT ALL SLYTHERINS ARE EVIL BURN THAT STEREOTYOE. BURN IT WITH FIRE.
