2 | BREATH MINTS
MARGO WAS AT HOME WITH HER TWIN BROTHER. Kol was sleeping at the mansion and she was slumbering the night out with her twin brother. After the day they've had, all Margo wants is to know that her brother is safe. This whole vampire thing is causing her to be really protective, maybe because for the first time in the last year and a half, she is able to actually to protect her brother from the other vampire's in town. And it feels great.
"Okay, so I've got Lays chips, chocolate, sour worms - our favorite sweet, and some strawberry milk." Margo listed as she walked into the small living room, arms full of said items. Matt grinned from the couch and got up to help his sister.
"You're the best sister ever, you know that? I mean, you took on Damon Salvatore for me." The silly grin on her twin's face was enough to make the blonde vampire happy as a giggle left her mouth. He took the chips and the sour worms from her and she set down the rest on the coffee table.
"Yeah, I'm pretty awesome." She laughed with him, her grin as silly as his. This is what she wants - her brother safe and happy.
"So, no Kol tonight?" Matt asked, raising an eyebrow at his twin sister.
The blonde girl shook her head. "It's just you and me, Matty."
"Is it rude that I'm really glad?" The quarterback questioned, a frown on his face, because he knew that he's going to have to get used to Kol Mikaelson being around his sister - especially since she's now a vampire. It hit him that one day, Kol Mikaelson could become his brother-in-law. He shuddered and hoped that he could have died by then, before pushing the thought away from his mind.
"After the day you've had with vampires? No, not at all." Margo assured him, she knew he didn't mean anything towards her mate. The only vampire that he could stand being around right now, was her.
"Speaking of vampires, how are you handling, you know..." The boy trailed of, gesturing around with his hand and hoping that his twin wasn't going to make him say it. They
plopped down on the couch, Margo easily ripping open the packet of sour worms.
"Being a vampire?" She asked and Matt winced, but nodded his head 'yes'. "Well, I don't want to rip your throat out, if that's what you mean." She smiled, but then her face turned serious. "It's not as bad as I expected, I mean no urges to rip any throats out, but then again the only human I've really been around since turning, is you. And I've never wanted to hurt you." She tilted her head in thought, she's never wanted to hurt anyone. Margo shrugged, "I guess I'll find out a school."
Margo took a couple of worms and ate them before glancing at her brother. "What do you think?"
"About what?" Matt asked, furrowing his brows in confusing.
"The whole me being a vampire thing." The blonde girl said, looking away from her brother and studying their small TV.
"Look, Margo, I'm not going to lie to you. It is going to be an adjustment and a little weird at first, but your my sister and the alternative is much worse. So, I would rather face you being a vampire than you being dead." Matt told his sister with a small smile, the image of her lifeless body still fresh in his mind.
"Okay." Margo nodded, blowing out a relieved breath she didn't know she was holding in. They stayed quiet for a while as they munched on the sour worms.
It was Matt that spoke up again. "I wanted to say thank you. For defending me and for saving my life."
"Your welcome." Margo grinned at him as happiness washed over her. "I'd do it again in a heartbeat." She swore.
"I know." Matt assured her. "Hey sis," He called and she turned to him. "Vampire or not, I'm still on your side and I love you. And I'm always going to love you." He paused briefly. "Even if you marry the Mikaelson."
Her eyes shined with tears and she shurged forward, hugging her brother tightly. "Thanks, Matty, you have no idea how much that means to me." She pulled away, wiping underneath her eyes. "Just for the record, I love you too."
Matt grinned and reached forward to the coffee table and put down the sour worms before picking up the pink coloured milk. He took a large sip of it before handing it to Margo. When she took it, he noticed a silver ring on her finger with a blue stone in the middle of it on her right hand.
"Nice ring." The human nodded to her right hand when the vampire looked at little confused. Matt reached for the Salt and Vinegar Lays.
"Oh, yeah. Bonnie did a good job, huh?" Margo took the bottle of milk on her left hand and held out her right and for her brother so he could inspect the ring. He did, because this is the first time he's actually gotten a chance to look at a daylight ring. Matt never paid much attention to Caroline's when they were dating because he didn't know what it was.
"It's really nice." The human commented, nodding his head as he turned his sister's hand, looking at it from all sides. Margo smiled as she watched him. Yes, she was sad that she would have to say good-bye to him one day, but she'd have at least another 50 or even 60 years with him. And until then, she'd protect him with all she's got.
"Kol put it on for me when Bon finished it." Margo told him as he finally let go of her hand.
"That Mikaelson better not think about putting another ring on your other hand anytime soon." He grumbled and the vampire laughed as she took a hand full of the chips when her brother held out the pack. We are going to be just fine, Margo thought.

THE NEXT MORNING, MARGO WAS WOKEN UP BY A KNOCK TO THE DOOR. She almost fell of Matt's bed and snorted when her brother did fall of the bed. He glared at her as he got up but there was no real heat behind it. The knock sounded again, this time more urgent. Margo huffed. "I'll get the door."
"Maybe I should, you never know who it could be." Matt objected and followed his sister as she walked to the front door.
"Remind me again, between the two of us, who is the vampire?" Margo asked as she turned back to her brother with a raised eyebrow, walking backwards. The vampire turned back around and Matt scowled, mumbling something about 'not letting that go anytime soon'.
The knock sounded again and she frowned. Who the hell is looking for one or both of the Donovan twins this early? "Okay, not need to break down-" The rest of her sentence was cut of as she flung open the door, looking straight into the eyes of her mate. A smile lit up her face.
"Hey Kol. Not that I'm not happy, but why are you hear so early?" She asked and a silly grin spread on Kol's face as well. He stepped across the threshold and gave her a quick kiss on the lips.
"Three reasons. Firstly and most importantly, I missed you." The Original told her, holding up one finger and Margo might have melted a little right then and there. "Two, I had to make sure you didn't eat your brother by accident." He got a smack on the arm for that one. "And three, someone wanted to see you." He pointed behind him and because Margo was short and only just reached his shoulder, she had to step around him to see who it was.
Her eyes grew impossibly wide and her jaw dropped. She blinked once. Twice. Thrice. And when the figure standing on her small porch didn't vanish, she launched herself forward and hugged him tightly. She pulled away, tears rolling over her cheeks. "But, but...how? You were dead, I saw your body and it was terrible and oh my God, I'm so happy that your alive." She lunged at him again.
"It's good to see you too, Shorty." Klaus told his best friend, grinning as he hugged her just as tightly. "From what Kol told me, you had quite the face off with death yourself."
She pulled away and nodded. "Yeah, I'm a vampire now." The blonde told her best friend and frowned. "That sounds so weird. Anyways, how are you alive?"
"It's a long story that starts with me jumping into Tyler Lockwood's body and ends with me blackmailing your witch friend Bonnie." He told her and Margo's eyes narrowed.
"You didn't hurt either of them, right? Bonnie and Tyler are two of the only people in town that hasn't tried to use me to get to you." The blonde girl eyed her best friend skeptically.
"Does that mean I can kill the ones who has?" The Hybrid asked, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
"Klaus!" She scolded and he laughed. It was good to see her alive again. The last image that both of them had of each other was being dead and it was not nice.
"They're both fine." He assured her and relief filled her eyes as she slapped him on the arm.
"Hey sis, who's at the door?" Matt's voice came from inside the house. He looked up and his eyes rolled heavenward when he saw Kol. Should have known, the dude can't stay away from my twin for long, Matt thought. Then he saw Klaus and his eyes almost fell out of his head. "Aren't you supposed to be dead?"
"Supposed to be? Yes. But it takes much more than a history teacher to kill the Original Hybrid." He said smugly and Margo rolled her eyes.
"Okay, that's enough." Margo said sternly. "Want to come inside?" She asked the two Original's. Both of them nodded eagerly and they walked into the house. She walked to the kitchen and switched on the kettle. "I have coffee, but it's instant." She shrugged and looked over her shoulder to the two vampires.
"That's fine." Kol said and Klaus nodded. She turned back to the brother duo and her eyes vamped out when she saw the bloodbag in Kol's hand. Her stomach burned and she realised how hungry she was.
"And that's my que." Matt said, looking a little green as he imagined his sister drink the blood and decided that it was a picture he really didn't need, so he left the kitchen.
Margo's eyes never left the blood and the second her brother was out of the kitchen, she held out a hand. "Hungry?" Kol smirked, walking over to her.
"Yeah." She nodded, looking at Kol and feeling slightly guilty for wanting the blood so badly.
"Remember what I said?" The youngest Mikaelson male asked her, raising a brow.
"Go slow, so that I don't lose control." She nodded with a grin. Her mate smiled at handed over the bloodbag. She opened it and took a big gulp and sighed in relief when her stomach was soothed and the burning went away. Then she took slower sips as she turned back as the kettle finished cooking. She made four cups of coffee, the bloodbag hanging in her mouth as she sipped on it.
"I have to admit, when Kol told me last night that he was going to help you with your control, I was skeptical. But it looks like he is helping you on the right track." Klaus spoke up as Margo handed him his coffee. He took a sip and then smiled. "Not bad."
The female grinned at him and Kol spoke up. "Well, what did you expect, Nik? I wasn't going to let her become like me."
"Yes," Klaus nodded. "That would be tragic."
Margo emptied the bloodbag and threw it in the trash, grinning fondly at the two brothers in her kitchen. Margo then took a gulp of hot coffee, wincing when it burned her throat but it healed instantly, hoping that it would take the smell of blood away. "Matt! Coffee's ready."
"Honestly, Margo, is shouting really necessary?" The Hybrid asked, rubbing at his ear. Kol rolled his eyes and Margo gave Klaus an apologetic smile.
"Sorry, Klaus, but my twin doesn't have supernatural hearing like we do." She explained to him but Klaus only waved him off. Margo walked to the refrigerator and wrote 'breath mints' on the grocery list that was held to the door with a flower magnet.
"Thanks, Margo." Matt said as he entered the kitchen and zeroing in on the coffee his sister made, back turned to the three vampires. He turned around and leaned against the counter, still looking uncomfortable in the Mikaelson's presence, but not as bad as before. The human eyes the two brothers before he wondered aloud, "You showing up here isn't going to become a daily thing, is it?"
Klaus smirked, Kol shrugged and Margo grinned while Matt decided that maybe it wouldn't be so bad. That smile on his twin sister's face was enough for him to endure the two Mikaelson's.

Poor Matt, having two Original's and a vampire sister to deal with.
Let me know what you think!
