11 | MISSING HIM
THE scream that left Margo Donovan's lips, caught the attention of everyone around her as well as her twin and Rebekah. It was the Original that made it to her fist and caught the girl just as she was about to fall to her knees from the pain that she was feeling. It felt like someone drove a stake through her heart. Concern swirled in Rebekah's blue eyes as she kept her arms around her brother's mate.
"Margo, what's wrong?" The panic that she was feeling was heard in her voice. Margo didn't know how she knew the answer to the question, but she just knew.
"This is going to sound really crazy, but I think Kol is in trouble." She whispered weakly, her eyes fluttering close and open, leaning her head against the blonde's shoulder. Rebekah's eyes widened as she realized that Margo was feeling what Kol felt. It would mean that their mate bond is stronger than any one of her family members expected. It was then that Matt arrived besides the two, slightly out of breath.
"Look, why don't you stay with your brother, while I go and give mine a call?" The Mikaelson suggested and when Margo nodded with fluttering eyes and a weak smile, she passed the human over to her brother. Matt wrapped his arms around his sister and looked down at her, careful not to hurt her and walked over to the bleachers to sit down.
"Margo, are you okay?" Matt asked, clearly worried about his twin sister.
"I'll be fine, Matty." She assured him and despite the fact the situation, Matt smiled. And he also knew that Margo would be forgiving him sometime soon. And he couldn't be happier. Suddenly, Margo began to feel better. The pain in her chest faded into nothing and she felt fine. She shrugged out of her brother's embrace and stood up. The human girl didn't feel weak or like she would faint.
"Margo?" Matt called out to her, his tone questioning.
"I'm fine. I feel fine. It just disappeared." Margo was then sure that it had something to do with Kol. She didn't know why she felt what Kol felt, but she was happy that he was okay. The dirty blonde scanned the room and saw Rebekah pacing at the door of the cafeteria with her phone pressed to her ear. And then a relieved smile made it's way onto the blonde's face and Margo speed walked over to the vampire.
"Well, be more careful would you, Margo nearly passed out from feeling your pain through the bond." Rebekah scolded her brother, who felt extremely guilty that his mate was hurting because of him. Margo's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she caught that sentence. When she was near the blonde, Rebekah's eyes widened and Margo mouthed, 'is that him?' The Mikaelson nodded and the human made a pleading face. She desperately wanted to talk to Kol, she missed the sound of his voice. She missed how he would wrap his arm around her waist and she would feel safe and happy. She missed him.
"Here she is." Rebekah said to Kol before passing the phone to Margo. The girl smiled as she took the phone but when the realization set in that she was about to talk to Kol, her heart beat sped up and suddenly her hands was moist. Her hands were trembling slightly as she brought the phone up to her ear.
"Hi." She squeaked out nervously and Rebekah bit her lip so that she wouldn't laugh. Margo and Kol was so adorable around each other. Just like Kol made Margo incredibly nervous, the human could bring Kol to his knees if she really wanted to and she doesn't even know how much power she has over the Mikaelson male.
"Hello darling." He greeted and Margo's cheeks flushed from both the name of affection he called her and his accented voice. It's one of the many things she loves about him. "Are you okay?" He asked her, feeling guilty about what he unintentionally put her through.
"I'm fine. Good as new. Just felt a little faint, but I'm fine now." She rambled on and on until Kol called her name with a soft chuckle. "What?" She questioned.
"I miss you." Her heart skipped a beat from his words and Margo smiled widely as more blood rushed to her cheeks.
"I miss you too." She admitted honestly, a little breathless from his confession and she was sure that her cheeks looked like ripe tomatoes.
"That's good," The Original male said, nodding on his side even though his mate couldn't see him. "Because if all goes well, I'll be back tomorrow." An exited squeal escaped Margo's lips, causing the students around her to eye her weirdly and Kol to smile warmly.
"Really?" She questioned, just to be sure she heard him right.
"Really." He confirmed before he remembered that he wanted to tell his mate something. "Margo," He started seriously and the human's smile fell of her face. "We need to talk." It was long pass the time that Margo needed to know the truth and Kol was finally going to tell her. While he was gone, the Mikaelson was miserable without his mate. And like Margo, he realized that he loves his mate. Both of them didn't understand how it was that they fell in love with each other so quickly, but they liked it and didn't plan on rejecting their feelings.
Margo felt a little panicked at his words but reminded herself that he just wanted to talk and she eventually said, "Okay."
They talked for about two hours before they finally said goodbye. Kol had to go and get his revenge on Damon - yes, he told Margo what happened and why - and Margo had to help Rebekah with the decorating for the dance.

HOURS later it was way pass midnight, but Margo couldn't sleep. She was to excited. Exited to see Kol again. So, she was sitting downstairs on the couch, in her pajamas, and watching a movie on TV. But she didn't even pay attention to the movie. Half-way through the movie, Margo heard a car outside. It couldn't be Klaus because he's already home and it couldn't be Rebekah either because she sent the human a text earlier that said that she wouldn't be coming home that night. Which only left one option.
Kol.
Margo jumped off the couch and ran outside as fast as her legs could take her. She threw open the front door of the mansion and stopped as Kol got out of his car. The two stared at each other for a few seconds before the distance between them got to much for Margo and she ran to him. The Original opened his arms and caught her when she launched herself at him. She locked her arms around his neck and wrapped her legs around his waist. Both of them inhaled the other's scent. After a long while of hugging each other, Margo unwrapped her legs from his waist and the vampire gently set her down.
"Welcome home." Margo said softly and Kol smiled gently at her as he rested his hands on her hips. He was gone for to long and didn't want to let go of his mate just yet. Kol's hands sent warm tinglings all over Margo's body, making her heart beat speed up ever so slightly. A soft, but drowsy smile lit up Margo's face and she cautiously locked her arms around his neck.
The Original smiled down at her and the two leaned in closer. Soon, their foreheads touched and their eyes closed - both relishing in the fact that their together again. Slowly they opened their eyes and suddenly the tension that was always in the air around them thickened as they stared into each the others eyes.
Kol pulled back and searched Margo's face and then looked into her eyes, silently asking her permission. The human girl nodded, wanting nothing more than for Kol to be her first kiss. An excited smile grew on the vampires face and he started to lean in, getting ready to kiss his beautiful mate. He'd been wanting to do it since the second they met.
"Little brother, so glad to see you home. You must be glad to be home." The voice of Klaus Mikaelson made the two jump apart. With flushed cheeks and fast beating hearts, neither of the two looked very threatening as they glared at the Hybrid. Said Hybrid looked very smug as he saw their embarassed, yet, furious faces. He knew that it was coming, but he wanted his best friend for a little longer. Even if it was a few hours because as soon as they kiss, the bond will strengthen even more and Margo's need to be around Kol will increase and she will forget him.
"Yes, happy to be home. Ecstatic to see Margo." He informed his brother, wrapping an arm around his mate's waist and pulling her into his side. She automatically wrapped her arms around his torso and resting her head on his chest - making Kol's glare fade into a smile. "You, however, not so much."
"Kol!" The human gasped, looking up at him with a disapproving frown. Not liking the from on her face, Kol kissed her forehead and a cheeky smile to residence on his face when her cheeks enflame once again. But in the end, Kol got what he wanted - Margo's smile. "You know, that's not a nice thing to say." She told him, still smiling.
"I know." He answered her, still smiling cheekily. She shook her head with a light chuckle before she rested her head back onto his chest.
"On a more serious note," Klaus started, uncharacteristically serious. "I really am glad you're home, little brother." It was true, he was happy. Apart from the fact that his best friend was depressed without her mate near her, he did miss his brother and was happy to see him home. And safe.
Klaus sped back inside, leaving Margo and Kol alone outside. They shifted so that they were standing chest to chest and Kol wrapped his arms around her shoulders. The two just stood there, basking in the other's presence. Margo wasn't sure how long they stood there when a thought suddenly hit her and her head shut up from Kol's chest with a gasp of realisation.
"You wanted to talk about something." She said, leaning back in the vampire's embrace with an inquisitive look on her face. Suddenly, just as Kol was about to say something, Margo yawned. The Mikaelson chuckled when Margo's cheeks flamed up out of embarrassment. The little human layed her head back on Kohl's chest.
"Why don't you get some sleep and we can talk tomorrow?" Kol suggested, raising an eyebrow even through she couldn't see him. Margo nodded against his chest.
"Sounds good." She muttered, fatigue finally setting in. The Original quickly picked his mate up bridal style and sped upstairs with her.
