THE golden glow of the sun seemed to hit the soccer field just right, the grass looking extra green as both teams had begun their warm-up.

Seong Haewon stood alongside Jang Miyeon on the sidelines, both of their cameras hanging from the strap around their necks as they awaited a good time to take good pictures.

"You know," Miyeon began, eyes wandering around the soccer field. "I've never been to a soccer game before." The girl admitted, as Haewon raised a brow.

"Really? Not even once?" Haewon asked, tilting her head curiously off of the side as Miyeon shook her head, a smile spread across her features.

"Nope, not even once." Miyeon chuckled, her head turning to meet Haewon's intrigued gaze as she folded her arms over her chest. "I've never been a sporty type. It's just not something I'm interested in, personally."

"Hey, that's understandable." Haewon hummed, shrugging her shoulders subtly as she shifted her weight from one leg to another.

"Honestly, I only really learned about soccer because of Heeseung. He'd always drag me to his games and over to his house to watch the national team play on the TV. I had to learn all the rules because I'd watch it so often without knowing what was really going on." She confessed, pursing her lips.

Miyeon tilted her head, a pout tugging at her lips as she 'awed'. "Seriously? That's so cute, though." She let out, hand reaching out to gently push the slightly younger girl on the shoulder.

"Cute?" Haewon breathed out, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she flashed a puzzled look, shaking her head. "I don't see it, but oh well."

"Oh, come on. You learned his sport for him, Haewon. If you don't see how sweet that is, you're pretty blind if you ask me." Miyeon teased, rolling her eyes playfully.

"It wasn't even like that! I was also just kinda interested in it when he started to make me watch the national team play. It's a fun sport, okay?" Haewon grumbled playfully, nose scrunching up in mock annoyance.

"Ahh, stages of denial. I've been through that too, girl." Miyeon clicked her tongue teasingly, patting her friend on the back slowly.

"You're delusional." Haewon scoffed, brushing her fingers through her hair, of which cascaded down her shoulders.

"Maybe. But, I have a boyfriend and I'm happy, so who's really winning?" Miyeon spoke, shrugging it off nonchalantly as Haewon laughed and shook her head.

"Hey, I'm happy too!" The younger girl pointed out, narrowing her eyes as she pressed her lips into a thin line.

"Sure, maybe. But think about it. Perhaps you could be happier with Lee Heeseung." Miyeon let out playfully, a soft hum sounding past her pink tinted lips.

"Heeseung and I are friends."

"Is that all?"

"Miyeon." Haewon dragged out, a whining tinge to her tone as she grimaced lightly.

The older girl laughed, shaking her head before she released a sigh of content, rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet.

"Okay, okay. I'll tone it down." Miyeon chuckled, giving in before she continued on with a small shrug. "It's fine if you really don't like him, I was just teasing."

"But, I'm just saying.. from an outsider's perspective, you two look like you would be good together. Before I actually became friends with you and stuff, I genuinely thought you two were a couple." Miyeon added truthfully.

"Fair enough. I guess it can seem that way to people we don't know because we're together like ninety nine percent of the time." Haewon said, pursing her lips.

"But I assure you, it's really nothing like that. We've just known each other since we were little, so we've always been close like that, I guess." She continued on quietly, subtly waving her hands in the air as if to dismiss the idea.

Miyeon hummed, nodding her head slowly as she followed along with Haewon's words silently. "That's valid." Miyeon commented.

Haewon's eyes then drifted to the field, as the team seemed to have finished up with warmups, each player making their way off of the field and to their bench, hands reaching out to find their water to stay hydrated underneath the warmth of the hot sun.

Shifting her attention back to her friend, Haewon hummed quietly to herself before opening her mouth to speak.

"Since we were already kinda on the topic," Haewon began, raising a brow as she let a smile wear at her lips. "How are you and your boyfriend doing, hm?"

Miyeon's cheeks flushed pink, a soft sounding laugh bubbling from the back of her throat at the question. "We're doing great." She said, nodding her head happily.

"He bought me flowers yesterday, actually. It was really sweet. We went out to eat lunch together, and afterwards, he came over and played board games with my parents and I. I'm so happy." Miyeon rambled, unable to conceal her smile.

"Awe, that's so cute. I'm happy for you! You're getting treated as you deserve to be." Haewon exclaimed as she gave the girl standing in front of her a soft nudge.

"Thank you!" Miyeon giggled, smiling sheepishly. "You know, I'm really glad I met you. You're really cool, Haewon."

"You think so? I'm flattered." Haewon hummed, brows raising slightly in surprise as she pointed to herself. "I think you're cool too, Miyeon. It's a relief I met you."

"We need to have a girl's day soon. We've never really hung out outside of school, have we? It'll be fun." Miyeon suggested, eyes opening wider in interest.

"Ooh, we should! I'll have to check my work schedule, but I'm sure I'll have a day off that we can do. Maybe on the weekend?"

"Whatever is most convenient for you, I'm fine with it." Miyeon reassured, nodding her head calmly.

Haewon hummed softly in response, rambling on about what all they could do. Meanwhile, she was blissfully unaware of the certain someone creeping up on her.

Jang Miyeon made eye contact with the boy from over Haewon's shoulder, raising a brow as he pressed his index finger to his lips. Getting the hint, Miyeon shifted her gaze back to Haewon, humming along to whatever she was saying.

A pair of hands settled themselves abruptly onto her sides from behind, eliciting a squeal as she stopped mid sentence to spin around, coming face to face with none other than Lee Heeseung.

"Boo!" Heeseung let out, unable to contain his laughter at the way her eyes widened, startled before she let out a sigh upon realizing it was just him.

"I'm going to kill you if you do that again." Haewon scoffed, giving him a narrow eyed glare as he let a winsome settle across his lips.

"I'd like to see you try." Heeseung snickered, letting his hands fall back to his sides. Not before reaching out to ruffle her hair, of course.

The girl rolled her eyes playfully, shaking her head as she brushed it off. Her attention shifted back to Miyeon, who stood quietly off to the side.

Haewon locked their arms together, guiding Miyeon to her side as she gestured towards her kindly. "Right, by the way, this is my friend, Miyeon. I don't think you've met before right?"

Heeseung hummed, bowing his head politely towards the unfamiliar girl. "Ah, no, we haven't. It's nice to meet you though! Haewon has mentioned you before."

Miyeon returned the bow, putting a friendly smile on her lips. "It's nice to meet you, too. I've heard plenty about you from Haewon as well." The older girl revealed, a small laugh falling from her lips.

"Awe, you talk about me? Seong Haewon, I feel moved." Heeseung sighed, pouting dramatically as he laid a hand over his chest.

"Don't flatter yourself. I barely do." Haewon scrunched her nose up slightly, shaking her head.

"Yeah, sure." Heeseung huffed, hand brushing through his hair, pushing it out of his face as it stuck to his skin.

"How are you so sweaty already?" The girl questioned, parting her arm from Miyeon's as she instead opted to fold them over the chest.

"It's hot! You try running around a field in this heat. You'd pass out." Heeseung mumbled, nudging her softly as she snickered.

"That's dramatic. I wouldn't pass out." Haewon denied, shaking her head vehemently. "Shouldn't you be with your team? Isn't the game starting soon?"

Heeseung turned his head, peering over his shoulder as he gazed at his teammates, all of which were huddled around, laughing and talking amongst themselves.

"I mean, I should go soon, yeah. But I think our Coach is still figuring out the positions for the starting lineup. We're playing a little differently than usual today because the team we're up against is supposedly really good based on their previous years stats." Heeseung explained, letting out a sigh.

"Ah, I see. Well, good luck, alright? You've got this. Just don't get hurt, please." Haewon let out, giving him an encouraging nod and a soft smile.

The boy hummed, arms reaching out to tug her briefly into his embrace, to which she playfully complained as he was a bit sweaty already.

Nonetheless, she hugged him back before he had to pull away.

"Nice to meet you again, Miyeon. I hope we can be friends." Heeseung let out, bowing his head once more as he backpedaled towards his bench, flashing Haewon a smile before turning around completely to jog over to their team.

Haewon chuckled to herself at her alleged best friend, releasing a small breath as she turned around once again, focusing her attention on Miyeon.

"See? You guys even argue like a married couple." She teased, as Haewon huffed and shook her head.

"Oh, come on. Not this again." Haewon whined, grimacing as she waved her hands frantically in the air as Miyeon couldn't help but laugh at the sight.
