It's almost 12 Am and I am laying on my bed stressing myself about the first day of 9th grade imagining every worst thing that can happen tomorrow, like what if I went to the wrong class? What if a teacher decides to take a quiz out of the blue? What if a teacher asks me to introduce myself and I say that my age is chess and I like fourteen?

Then suddenly a message pops up bringing me out of my dramatic world where only over-thinking is allowed, i quickly open the text seeing that it was shivina

"Excited for tom? :)))))"

"Nervous af"
I reply

"Seriously? You've been studying in this school from the past 11 years and you're nervous for the first day"

"But first days are always different, there are some new people too and our school is already kind enough to change half of the teachers every year"

"At this point you're just speaking crap,it's not necessary that the teachers will change this year as well"

"Not all the teachers but i know most of them will be and don't blame me not everyone is a social butterfly like you"

"Well I dunno about you but i'm excited :))))"

"Excited about what? Meeting stupid people and attending boring lectures"

"You're no fun"

"Find a new best friend then :)"

"Bold of you to assume i'll leave you this easily"

I smile a little as I read that, she's the only reason i am able to survive in school

"Have any idea where the class will be?"

"Nope, classes have shuffled this time, We have to find it tomorrow"

"Alrighty then wait for me at the gate, don't go without me"

"Cool"

"Alright then see you tomorrow"

I keep my phone down and then try to sleep, it's been ten minutes already but i'm still thinking about tomorrow. again, you can't blame me as i'm not one those people who have a button on the back of their head and sleep as soon as it presses their pillow, it takes me atleast 10 chains of random thought and 5 looks at the clock to finally fall asleep.

The Next Day

I was at the gate waiting for shivina who was nowhere to be seen, She lives closer to the school so i was expecting her to reach first but here I was standing at the gate for 10 minutes but there is still no sign of her. I look at my watch and there's only 10 minutes left for the bell to ring.

Fuck this bitch i'm going on my own

I thought as i move forward and before i entering i fortunately see a friend and i tap on her shoulder.

"Hey mishkha! Have any idea where the class is?"

"Hi! It's probably room 17"
She says while smiling at me

"Alright"

We start going towards our class while chit-chatting a little, when we enter our classroom I take a seat in the middle bench of the middle row, mishkha asks me if she can sit beside me and I politely deny as I am still waiting for shivina.

The time is passing and my heartbeat is raising with every person who is entering the classroom, where the hell is she?

I finally loose all my hopes when I see the teacher entering, she is definitely absent today I am just hoping there is nothing wrong with her as she never gets absent without informing me.

"Alright class, a very goodmorning to all of you, my name is swati, i'm new this year and i'll be teaching you math from now"

As if the grief of shivina not coming wasn't enough, now I have to study maths on the first period.
Fan fucking tastic

Suddenly i look towards the door after hearing the footsteps and see "Arthav" the topper standing near the door.

"Why're you late?"
The teacher asks him

"Ah, i'm sorry, traffic"
He replies

"Traffic at 7:30 Am?"
She says in a mocking tone

"Ya"
He simply nods not wanting to give up

I am not at all interested in their conversation so I look away but then it clicks me, i'm the only one sitting alone and there are no seats empty so does that mean- no please! Anything but this god please! This day is already shitty enough and I can't bare him-

"You can go and sit with her"
She points at me and I control the urge to bang my head against the desk and murder both him and the teacher

I run my hands through my hair as he comes towards my desk, shivina says that it's the first thing i do when i'm awkward

He puts down his bag as he sits and I curse myself for saying no to mishkha. i move as far as I can, I want to be totally disconnected from him and want this day to pass as quickly as it can before I run out of here myself.

"You'll fall if you shift any further"
He says while looking at me shifting like he is a ghost or something

"That's better actually"
It sounds like a whisper

"What?"

"Nothing"
I say with a smile so fake that even he chuckles after seeing it"

I want some silence now which i'm definitely not getting today because apparently this annoying topper can't keep his mouth shut for a minute, he always has to answer even when he's not the one asked, it's like he's telling the entire word "you heard that dummy? I'm the smartest and you all are crap" alright maybe not that bad but my mood is making a very big deal of the slightest inconveniences right now

"Take out your books and open the first chapter"

I sigh which doesn't get unnoticed by the annoying topper

"Seems someone doesn't fancy maths"
He says smiling a little, which looks more like a smirk

"Maths is the only reason i'm not the topper"
I reply giving the same smile

"My, My, is that?"
He chuckles, this is also one of his most annoying habits, he laughs a lot.

"You should laugh less"
I say

"Well that's a very nice thing to say"
He just looks at me and replies, his annoying smile not leaving his face for a moment

"I know, i'm always nice"
I say while still looking at the book trying to understand what the first chapter is about

"Well-"
Gosh why the hell can't he stay quiet? He was about to say something but then I interrupt him

"I have a hard time understanding maths and i'm afraid i won't be able to catch anything if you don't keep your mouth shut so silence would be appreciated"

"Sure"
He laughs lightly again

Why the hell does he laugh so much!

The next 20 minutes went in silence, I am a little surprised, how is it possible that it's been 20 minutes already and he hasn't said a single answer and not to forget the teacher is new so how is arthav mehra not trying to impress her? I ignore my thoughts and try to understand what ms swati is teaching, after a few minutes when she  is done teaching, i'm looking at the book being confused as hell

"Anything wrong?"
Mr annoying asks me as I was turning the pages like a maniac

"These are the same questions right then why do their solution looks different?"
I ask him

"They aren't same"
He replies

"How?"

"Look"
He takes my pen from my hand and begins explaining, I understand in almost a minute as he explained it surprisingly well.

"Wow, you aren't that useless Mehra!"
I say sarcastically making him chuckle

"Can I ask you something?"
He said sounding genuine

"What?"

"How stupid does someone has to be to have doubts in the first chapter which is supposed to be the easiest"
He says with the same smile+smirk making me roll my eyes

"Thanks for reminding me that you haven't got any less annoying"

"Well, to be honest the one being annoying is you"
He laughs again

"Has anyone ever told you that your laugh is so freaking annoying?"

"Nope just you, everyone else finds it contagious"

"Contagious? They must be deaf then"

"Ahan! A dumb finding other people deaf"

" What an Annoying mouth"
He suddenly stands up

"Excuse me miss, Are we allowed to change seats after this period ends?"

"No not today once you're seated you aren't allowed to change, you can sit with whoever you want tomorrow"

Like seriously- who the fuck does he think of him self, this ass-

"What a pain"
He says slowly and sits back

"Guess i'm stuck with you for today"

"You're not the one who is stuck, I am!"

"Yikes, you didn't feel bad did you?"
He says in a sort of teasing tone

"Who the hell do you think you are?"

"It's been 11 years and you still don't know? Short memory I see."

"Don't talk to me"
I curse myself when i realise that I almost sounded like a 5-year old while saying that, hearing him chuckle angers me more. Seriously I think i might have to murder someone today.

After few minutes i'm again struggling with a question and uhm- what happened before wasn't a serious fight so I can still ask for a little help right? Ofcourse I can

He is talking to a friend sitting near him and then i tap his arm, he looks towards me and I point at the question i'm struggling with.

"This is done by using the 2nd identity, turn the page it's written there"

I just look at him and blink twice which is suppose to mean "thank you"

"Don't talk to me"
He mimicked me

I gave him the most dangerous glare and hit his arm with my elbow but that shameless human is still chuckling

Superiority complex"
I say rolling my eyes

"Why would I help you if I had?"

"To prove how great you are"

" I think you need therapy dummy"

"Cut the crap mehra"
I say taking out the books for the next period as bell has rung

Time passes,

Recess

"Finally i can get a break from your annoying mouth
I say as I stand up from my seat.

"Ya then go away! Shoo- shoo-"

"Idiot"
I roll my eyes and go towards a friend who was waiting for me outside the class

"So how's the day going with the topper?"
She says while laughing lightly as we move towards our canteen

"Don't talk about him yaar! God knows how i'll survive till the last period"

"But he talks a lot plus he's funny so atleast you're not bored"

"That's the problem! He talks a lotttt! He can't shut his mouth for once and please simran he is anything but funny"

"Haha, alright what will you have?"
She asks me as we reach canteen

"Something light will do"
I reply as i didn't have much appetite

"Cheese sandwich?"
I nod and then we sit on a nearby swing and start talking while eating ofcourse

Time passes and recess gets over

"What's the next period?"
I ask as it's the first day and i haven't checked the time table

"P ed"
She replies

"P ed?"
I repeat to make sure I heard right and she nods

"Who the hell has made the time table this year, seriously? P.E after lunch"

"Not surprised as the management is nuts, let's go the bell has rung"

I nod and soon after we both enter our class and go to our seats my mood gets ruined again after seeing mr annoying

"What's this period?"
He asks me

"P ed"

"Haha very funny, now seriously tell me what is it?

"I have no interest in cracking jokes with you, it's really the P.E period"

"What?

He seemed equally shocked, before I can say anything further the P.E teacher walks in and I sigh as I realise that our school really is nuts, time passes and now it's the history period which is the last one as well

"Soviet Union"
I roll my eyes as arthav answers another question

"Hey"
He calls me and I look at him

"I know for a fact that your history is far better than mine so why don't you answer?"

"Because i don't want to"
I reply in a plane tone

"You don't want to or is it the confidence"
He chuckles again, this time it doesn't sound irritating but rather genuine

"Dunno, maybe both?"

"Then try it one time"

"Hell no"

"Why?"

"It just- feels weird"

"It doesn't riyanshi, try it once you'll feel great after it I know you will"

"Should I?"
I really don't know why i'm being so serious with him

"Yep, answer the next one"

"Okay, so does anyone know when Germany surrendered  to the allies?"
The teacher asks and he looks at me waiting for me to speak up

"Raise your hand idiot"

"I'm not sure of this one, i'll try the next-"

Before I could say anything he raises my hand and the teacher looks at me being surprised

"Yes Riyanshi?"
I wait for a moment and then answer 

"May 7, 1945"

"Very well Riyanshi, I mean you've always been an impressive student but you've answered on your own for the first time"
I just smile, he was right. It does feel great

"That's my influence mam"
Mr annoying says making the class including the teacher laugh

"Then I guess you guys you should sit together more often"
She says smiling and continues teaching

"See? Told ya it isn't that difficult, Just stop over complicating things you have so much potential"

"Why do you sound like my mom all of sudden?"
I laugh

"Goodness gracious, riyanshi you can laugh? Oh god my eyes are blessed"
I don't usually find him funny but this makes me laugh more for some reason

"Thank you, couldn't have done without you mr annoying mouth"

"I know"
And we both laugh

"Arthav pay attention"
Well we were both laughing but the teacher only caught him

"That's right you should pay attention to the class arthavvvv!"
I tease

"So unfair man"

"Should I tell this to your mom?"

"What?"

"That you got scolded by the history teacher for not paying attention?"

His and my mom are  two inseperable friends and today parents are supposed to come to submit the charges required for the new session so my and his mom will surely be together, and if I tell her that his dear son got scolded then she'll surely be mad at him as she is damn strict when it comes to his academics.

"You better not"
He glared, or atleast tried to glared but looked like a kicked puppy instead

"And what if I will?"
I smile sarcastically

"Riyanshi I swear to god i'll-"

"Atharv it's your  last warning, pay attention."

I bring  my hand near my mouth to stop myself for laughing loudly, oh god! It definitely isn't Mr Annoying's best day today.

The period gets over and we are going downstairs(to leave) I see my mom and mr annoying's mom and then go near them. Mr annoying still hasn't come but i can see his panicked face as he sees me standing beside his mom, he pleads with his face and I just smile mouthing "Ok" well- it was quite cute to be honest- and I guess, Mr Annoying isn't that bad probably.

Hey y'all!!! Kese ho saare? 😂 heck I don't even know kitne log yeh padh rahe hai maybe 10 or 5? Less than 5 if i'm too unfortunate XDD par koini atleast pehle se toh kuch better likha hai maine, so this is a very light read, i'll end it in like 10 to 15 chapters it's just that i find the concept of teenage love interesting so i thought of giving this a shot! Hope it's atleast readable xD.
