Chapter 19

Meeting you was fate, Staying with you is destiny....

I woke up to cold sweat covering my forehead. I got up by supporting myself on whatever I had been sleeping on. I looked around, my eyes still hazy from sleep. I realised that I had fallen asleep on the couch. Now, how I slept and when I slept had completely disappeared from my memory. My eyes finally adjusted to the bright sunlight seeping in through the translucent creamy white curtains of our living space. I looked around only to find the entire room empty. They must be in their rooms....

I got up from the couch and lazily dragged myself to my room. Having finally freshened myself I went to the kitchen to find it completely empty, no people nor food. They could have atleast made me some food. I searched the whole house for them and not finding even a trace of them kind of left me disappointed. I returned to the kitchen and opened the fridge only to find it empty except for an unopened bottle of chocolate milk. I took it and was about to close the door when I found a note stuck on the inside of the fridge's door. I took it and opened the bottle. I sat on the counter and drank the milk while reading the note-

Hey Trace!

Theodore had to leave early today morning because he finally found a clue to where your mom and dad are and since you had fallen asleep late at night he chose not to disturb you and went alone, as to my location I had to buy some groceries and also have to clear up some accounts and business related to my previous house, so I too had to leave. I have left a bottle of chocolate milk for you but you'll have to take breakfast and lunch outside today. I will be a bit busy so I may not be able to come home and cook lunch for you. Be safe and remember to take your phone I have charged it for you. And one more thing, be home early I have a surprise for you....

Aaron🖤

I liked the cute heart at the end....but now to think of my situation, I am free for the day!!! I quickly drank up the rest of the milk and went to my room to take my phone and my car keys. When I was seated in the car I took out my phone and did a quick search for the places providing a hearty breakfast. I finally settled for a cafe which was located apparantly an hour away from my house. With a slight smile on my face I revved up the engine and drove off.

I sat by the window overlooking a garden full of beautiful flowers. The shades of the flowers in the garden were well matched... the dull but beautiful red partnered with a few shades of pure white, followed by deep violet and patches of baby pink which complimented the bright yellow, it was a pity that I couldn't recognise these beautiful flowers. I sat admiring the view when my food arrived, a simple breakfast of croissants, blueberry muffins and a cup of steaming hot coffee.

Having paid for my food I got up and was making my way out of the cosy cafe when I bumped into a tall but young figure, I fell down from the impact. I was rubbing my forehead which was throbbing as if it had hit a wall instead of a human when that young man gave me a hand to get me off the floor. I took his hand and stood up dusting myself. Having muttered a quick apology, I was trying my best to escape this awkward situation when that young man called me from behind. I turned around and finally lifted my eyes to his....those heavenly deep but intoxicatingly innocent eyes of the deepest shade of blue, revived those memories which I had buried deep within my heart in order to forget their existence...

His expression of indifference changed to utter bewilderment which informed that he too did not fail to recognise me. We just stood there too shocked to even break the eye contact. His deep blue eyes held mine just like they had done six years ago. The cafe had only a couple of customers which made it very silent and calm but this only enabled me to hear my heart hammering in my chest. The heat rose to my cheeks as I broke contact with him and took interest in the wooden flooring of the cafe.

"Tracy?", he called out. His voice had grown deeper but it still attracted me the way it had six years ago. I nodded still looking at the floor. He took careful steps towards me and stopped right in fromt of me. He lifted his hand and was about to place it on my cheek when I backed away from his touch. His hand froze midair. I looked into his deep eyes again and asked," Kyle...is it really you?"

"Yes, it is really me Tracy, how--"

"Where have you been Kyle?? It has been six years since I last saw you, you did not even inform me before you left... "I said with broken voice. My eyes were completely dry, no tears. I guess having cried and lived in sorrow and pain for six years made me so numb that I couldn't feel pain anymore. His deep blue eyes which had never failed to remind me of the vast oceans and were the sole reason for my strange attraction to oceans, glittered as tears filled them up.

"I myself did not know that I was going to leave. It was my parent's choice to leave and it all happened so abruptly that I did not even have a chance to say goodbye to you, to be honest I have lived with regret ever since that day....", He said as he let his hand rest by his side.

I internally smiled knowing that he never wanted to leave me. He took another step towards me bringing our bodies closer to each other, he looked in my eyes seeking permission to do what we both knew he was going to do. I smiled slightly and the next moment was engulfed by his warm embrace. My head rested in the crook of his neck where I inhaled the ever familiar scent of lavender, my favourite flower.

And I leave it at that...thank you my sweet readers to have waited for so long for an update. And I cannot find enough words to express my gratitude to all of you who have helped my book cross 400 reads. Be safe and healthy. Love you all😊
