Chapter 5
"It's over," Hazel said to her friends on the way home in a taxi. She's looking for her wallet. But she couldn't find it. Her handbag is not even a big one. So why can't she find it? She looked at the car floor. But it's not even there.
"It's okay girl. At least you try it. I'm so proud of you. You didn't date anyone for a year and a half now," Claudia said. It was true. Hazel was too shy. She liked to date someone. But she was too shy. She can't believe she finally faced this today. She felt like she did some adventure.
She finished talking with her friends. "Oh shit. I think my wallet might have fallen when I fell," Hazel said with a crying tone. Now she's near her house and can't go back. Maybe she has to cancel her cards, or maybe he'll return it if he is a gentleman, right? But what if he didn't see her wallet? What if he's not a gentleman?
"Maybe I'll call the hotel after I go home," Hazel thought. Fortunately, Hazel paid the taxi through the app.
As soon as she went home, she made a call to the hotel and informed them about her missing wallet. They promised her they would let her know if they found it immediately.
'The hotel is a luxury hotel. There's no way someone would want to steal my poor wallet,' Hazel thought.
After a few minutes, she got a call again, and it was from the hotel.
"Ma'am, we found your wallet. Is it okay if we return it to you tomorrow morning?" the woman asked.
"You can return it?" Hazel asked, surprised.
"Yes, ma'am," the woman said.
"Oh, thank you. Do you think you can bring it to the bookstore, The Cozy Quill? I'll give you the address," Hazel said with excitement.
"It's okay, ma'am. We know the place," she said.
"You do?" Hazel asked, surprised.
"Yes, ma'am. We'll make sure you have it in the morning," the woman said.
"Oh, thank you so much! Good night!" Hazel said. And she felt relieved.

Enzo was lying in his bed, frustrated. He had been thinking about Hazel for a few hours now, which was not normal behavior for him. She was the first girl to reject him. After Mia was killed, he didn't date any girls, and the girls he met were only from the clubs. So none of those club girls ever said no to him. He's the one who usually says no to the girls and makes them feel like shit. Now, someone for the first time said no to him, and he didn't know how to handle it mentally. Different kinds of emotions were going through his head right now. He couldn't take Hazel's no from his head.
He heard his phone ringing and answered it automatically. "Hello," he said.
"Yo, bro, are you not coming to the club?" Diego asked.
"Nah, not in the mood," Enzo replied.
"Are you okay? What's wrong?" Diego asked, surprised. Enzo never missed clubbing during his vacation time. He loves to drink. So this was odd.
"I'm okay," Enzo said and sighed.
"You don't sound okay though. I'll come," Diego said, worrying about Enzo. Because of Enzo's past, everyone who cares about him worries about him a bit more. They're scared he might hurt himself or get kidnapped, or something like that, even though it hasn't happened in many years. And Enzo was very good at starting fights with others. He's literally a jerk. To be honest, no one likes to be around him. Even the club owners keep an eye on him when he's in their clubs. He's that bad.
"You don't have to come. I don't want to drink today," Enzo said, but Diego had already hung up the call, which meant he was coming to his room.
Enzo heard a knock on his door. Enzo wondered if Diego had come to his room this fast from the club. His friends were in the rooms that were closer to his, but Enzo didn't go to the club with them because he went to meet Hazel. He thought he could go to the club with her, but she refused to go to the club or to his room.
Enzo opened the door, and it was not Diego. It was Manuel, who was in the room to the right of Enzo's.
"Papa?" Enzo asked.
"Diego called me," Manuel said.
"Oh shit. I'm okay. I just don't want to go to the club," Enzo said.
"Can I come in?" Manuel asked, and without Enzo saying anything, Manuel came inside the room and started to check everything in the room.
"What are you looking for?" Enzo asked.
"Nothing," Manuel said.
"Come on Papa. I'm not a kid anymore. Do you still think I will try to kill myself? Papa, I'm 27 years old now. I'm a fucking adult," Enzo said. Manuel looked at Enzo with worried eyes.
"Enzo, I didn't say anything like that. Don't overreact," Manuel said, and he looked emotional right now.
"What's with the face then? You look like you just found me dead," Enzo snapped.
"ENZO," Manuel said, looking at him with wide-open eyes in disbelief. He was hurt so badly by Enzo's words. His eyes turned red, as if tears were about to come.
"Papa, I'm sorry. You made me angry. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry," Enzo said, seeing how much Manuel was hurt by his words. But he actually said it to hurt Manuel because he made him angry. However, he regretted it instantly when he saw Manuel's sad face. Enzo had a habit of hurting people with words, even the ones he loved. He had a problem controlling his rude behavior, so he kept doing it and hurt himself too.
"Is it fun to hurt me like this always Enzo?" Manuel asked and his voice was trembling.
"No Papa, I'm sorry," Enzo hugged Manuel with frustration. "I'm sorry Papa,"
Manuel said nothing because he knows how much Enzo said sorry, he keeps doing it.
"Enzo," they heard Diego's voice, and Diego also came to his room. He saw Manuel and Enzo looked upset and he looked at both of them curiously.
"Is he okay?" Diego asked Manuel.
"He's fine," Manuel said.
"Dude, I'm fine. Can you all stop treating me like I'm a child? I'm sick of this. Seriously. How many times do I have to tell you I'm not trying to kill myself again?" Enzo snapped.
"We never said that Enzo. I thought you might feel sick or something," Diego said.
"Yeah, you never said that. But you think like that," Enzo barked.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry. It's my fault. Now calm down. I will not do this again," Manuel said, and Enzo relaxed a bit.
"You better not," Enzo murmured.
"Okay then. I'll go back," Diego said to Enzo, and Diego's eyes met Manuel's, and it was like they exchanged a message through their eyes.
"You can leave Diego. He's fine," Manuel said, and Diego left.
"Hey, sorry about that," Manuel said to Enzo.
"Fine," Enzo said, laying on the bed again.
"Are you worrying about something?" Manuel asked.
"Not really. I'm just thinking," Enzo said.
"Hope you are not thinking about that girl," Manuel said, looking at the lady's wallet on the table. Enzo saw what Manuel was looking at.
"No, no, I'm not thinking about her. I think she dropped it. I have to return it," Enzo said.
"How kind of you," Manuel said, because Enzo is rarely kind to strangers. So he knew what's going on, and he wasn't happy with that. Because if Gerardo finds out about this, he'll get mad. But at this time, Manuel decided not to talk about it as he had already made Enzo mad. He sat on Enzo's bed and just stayed there silently without bothering Enzo's thoughts.
