|20|•YOURS•
I was still half-asleep when I opened my eyes slightly, moving my hands to the other side of the bed trying to find Abir.
Where's he?
Grumpily, I sat up and looked at the bathroom, but he wasn't there. Lazily, I rose from the bed and went downstairs to see him sitting on the couch, scrolling through something on his phone.
Is this piece of screen more important than me?
"Abirrrrrrrrr," I called out. He looked up and smiled.
I went over and settled myself on his lap.
Besharmi doob chuki h meri 🥰
Comfortably settling there with my eyes closed,
He mumbled, "Good morning" while pressing a kiss on my forehead while caressing my hair.
"Morning. Why were you not there with me?"
"I didn't want to disturb you, also I was ordering clothes for you. Here, look at them and see if you like them."
"I don't wanna see. If you chose them, they must be good," I said, nuzzling into him, trying to take in all his warmth.
He laughed at me while I pouted. "What's there to laugh?"
"Nothing," he said, tapping my nose gently.
I nuzzled into Abir, feeling his warmth seeping into me. He continued scrolling through his phone, one hand wrapped around me, the other occasionally tapping the screen.
"Abir, seriously, what's so interesting about your phone?" I mumbled against his chest, my voice still groggy from sleep.
"Just looking at some memes," he replied, trying to stifle a laugh.
I pulled back slightly to look at him, my eyebrows furrowed. "Memes? Really? You'd rather look at memes than cuddle with me?"
He chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "You know I can multitask, right?"
I pouted, feeling a bit childish but not caring. "I don't like sharing your attention with your phone."
Abir grinned, setting his phone aside. "Okay, okay, I'm all yours. Happy?"
"Much better," I said, settling back into him.
He started to play with my hair, twirling it around his fingers. "You know, you look really cute when you're grumpy."
I gave him a mock glare. "You're not helping."
"Am I not?" he said, his tone playful. "Maybe this will help." He suddenly started tickling my sides, making me squeal and squirm in his lap.
"Abir! Stop it!" I laughed, trying to wriggle away from his tickling fingers.
He continued for a few more seconds before finally relenting, pulling me back into his embrace. "There, all better now?"
I huffed, still catching my breath. "You're impossible."
"And you love it," he said, winking at me.
I rolled my eyes, but a smile crept onto my face. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever."
We sat there in comfortable silence for a moment, just enjoying each other's company. But then Abir's mischievous side kicked in again. He started poking my sides, lightly at first, but it quickly escalated.
"Stop poking me!" I protested, trying to swat his hands away.
"Make me," he challenged, a playful glint in his eye.
"That's it!" I declared, grabbing a nearby pillow and whacking him with it.
"Oh, it's on!" Abir said, grabbing a pillow of his own.
We both stood up from the couch, facing off in the middle of the living room. What started as a few playful swats quickly turned into an all-out pillow fight. Feathers flew everywhere as we laughed and dodged each other's attacks.
At one point, I managed to knock him off balance, and he tumbled onto the couch
We both fell on the couch and laughed .
I told her to freshen up and wear my clothes until hers arrived. She gave me a peck on the cheek. My god. This woman will be the death of me.
I chuckled and made my way towards the kitchen to make something for my sweetheart. I decided to make some pancakes and juice since I know she doesn't do heavy breakfasts. Completing everything in half an hour, I was cleaning the basin when the apartment doorbell rang.
Who's here at this hour? So early? Probably Tia.
I opened the door and saw Abhimaan, Mahira bhabhi, Ishaan, Tara, Advik, and Jia. Scrunching my nose irritably because these people will settle here and won't move until seven hours. God, they ruined my time with her.
"What are you all doing here?" I said with an irritated face.
"Hat yha se andar aane de saale " Advik said, pushing me aside.
"Seriously, Advik?"
"Yes, seriously, Abir."
"Where's Mishti?" Abhimaan and Ishaan said, looking at me.
"Mishti..." As I was about to answer, Mishti called from inside.
"Abirrrrrrrrrrrrr," she yelled. Everyone looked at me and we all went to my room. I stopped them because I didn't know if she was properly dressed.
"Mishti, m andar aajau ," I called out.
"Haan, Abir! Jldiiiii aayo," she shouted back.
We all entered the room and saw her standing on the bed with a pillow in her hands.
"Wait, why are you standing on the bed, Mishti?"
"Abir, yha pe na bada sa chua h abirrrrr"
"Mishti, come down. I'll inform the staff. Come on now."
"No, no, I'm not coming down. Get rid of it first! There it is, Abirrrrr!" she cried, pointing towards the mouse in the corner of the room.
I went towards her and took her in my arms. "You're safe, okay? Let's go."
"Nhi, Abir, chua kaat jaega mujhe . Mumma ne bachpan me btaya tha agr chua kaat jaaye toh phir insaan hilta hi rhta hai"
Everyone laughed as I stifled my own laugh.
"You're laughing at me," she said, tears forming in her eyes.
"No, see, Mishti. I'll pick you up and we'll go to the living room, alright?"
"Okay, but don't put me down."
"Come on," I said, picking her up. She quickly added, "No, I want a piggy ride."
Tilting my head, I let her do what she wanted. I picked her up by holding her legs, and she hugged me from behind. We went outside and I dropped her onto the couch.
"Call the staff and tell them to get rid of the mouse. Abir, I'm serious. If it's not gone today, I'll leave."
"Okay, calm down. I'm calling them." I cleared her face as she was sweating. She nodded, looking at everyone and then back at me.
Abhimaan came towards her and took her into a hug.
"Where did you go without telling us, you idiot? Do you know how worried we were?"
"Okay, I'm fine now. Ab daato mat mujhe."
" Haan aarti utarta hu ruk Teri "
Ishaan came and hugged her too. "Mishti, if you want to go somewhere, tell me. You don't have to be alone. We can go together, but not alone, please. It scared me. I can't lose you, Mishti," his voice broke.
"Oyee, tu ro rha hai?" Mishti asked, breaking the hug. Ishaan had tears in his eyes.
"No, no, I was just scared for you."
"Don't cry. From now on, I'll inform you and Abir, okay?"
I smiled at her. "Okay, done."
"Kutti, kamini, saali! How could you leave without telling us? Do you know how worried we were?" Tara said, coming towards Mishti. Mishti just grabbed my hand.
"Abir, save me, please. She'll kill me."
"Move aside, Abir. I'm going to deal with her today," Tara said, holding a slipper in her hand.
She moved around me while Mishti used me as a shield.
"Okay, Tara. She won't do it again. Calm down, baby, please," Ishaan said, calming her.
"Okay, tell her to give me a hug."
I looked at Mishti as she shook her head. "She'll hit me, I know it."
"I won't do anything. I just want to hug you," Tara said, coming towards us. She hugged Mishti and kissed her cheek while muttering something.
She kissed my girl? Wait.
"Tara, don't kiss my girl. Only I can do that," I said, taking Mishti in my arms. "Ishaan, handle your girl. I'm not tolerating this. She's kissing my girl." I wiped Mishti's cheek with wipes as she looked at me and kissed my cheek.
She did it in front of everyone.
"Oye hoye, aashique!"
"Mtlb m jldi chachu bne wala hu," Advik said as I shot him a glare while Mishti blushed.
"Okay, now feed me something. I'm hungry," my sweetheart said, looking at me.
"Of course." I took the pancakes for her and gave them to her while everyone looked at her.
"I'm not sharing. Abir made these just for me. If you want something, make it yourself or order," she said, hiding the plate and placing her head on my shoulder.
After we settled down from breakfast, the group decided it was time for some fun. Ishaan suggested a game of charades, which everyone eagerly agreed to. We gathered in the living room, forming two teams.
"Okay, teams are set," Mahira bhabhi announced. "Abir and Mishti, you're on opposite teams. Let's see who wins!"
Mishti gave me a mock-serious look, but I could see the twinkle in her eye. "You're going down, Abir."
"We'll see about that," I shot back, grinning.
The game started with Abhimaan acting out a movie title for his team. As he flailed his arms and made exaggerated expressions, we all laughed, trying to guess what he was miming. His team finally got it, and it was our turn next.
Mishti was up. She stood in front of her team and started acting out a scene. Watching her, I couldn't help but admire how cute she looked, trying to get her team to guess the movie. She mimed something that looked like a romantic scene, and her team quickly guessed it was "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge."
"Yes!" Mishti exclaimed, jumping up and down. She turned to me and stuck her tongue out. "Your turn."
I got up and picked a movie from the bowl. As I started miming "Dhoom," everyone burst into laughter at my over-the-top bike riding and action moves. Mishti was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes. Finally, my team guessed it right.
"Nice moves, Abir," Mishti teased as I sat back down. "Maybe you should be in the next action movie."
"Only if you're my co-star," I replied, winking at her.
As the game continued, the room was filled with laughter and good-natured teasing. Mishti and I kept stealing glances and exchanging playful remarks. It was clear to everyone that we were completely smitten with each other.
After several rounds, the game ended in a tie. Abhimaan declared a break, and we all grabbed drinks and snacks. Mishti settled next to me on the couch, leaning her head on my shoulder.
"Having fun?" I asked, brushing a strand of hair away from her face.
"The best," she replied, looking up at me with a smile.
Just then, Tara spoke up. "Okay, lovebirds, how about a photo to remember this day?" She held up her phone, ready to capture the moment.
Mishti and I posed together, and just as Tara was about to click, I leaned down and kissed Mishti on the cheek. She laughed, and Tara snapped the picture.
"Perfect," Tara said, showing us the photo. "You two are too cute."
"Can't help it," I said, wrapping my arm around Mishti. "She brings out the best in me."
"And you bring out the best in me," Mishti added, snuggling closer.
"Alright, alright," Advik said, shaking his head. "Enough with the PDA. Let's decide what to do next."
"We could watch a movie," Ishaan suggested. "Or maybe play another game."
"How about a movie?" Mishti suggested. "Something fun."
We all agreed and settled down to watch a comedy. Mishti stayed close, her head on my shoulder and my arm around her. Every now and then, I'd kiss the top of her head or she'd give me a quick peck on the cheek, and each time, our friends would tease us.
"Get a room," Abhimaan joked again.
"This is our room," I replied, laughing.
"Well, just don't forget we're here too," Mahira bhabhi added with a grin.
We all laughed and continued watching the movie, enjoying each other's company. Mishti and I couldn't stop smiling, happy to be surrounded by friends and filled with love.
In that moment, I knew that no matter what, we'd always find joy in the little things and cherish every moment together.
