It was midnight and I was waiting for him. The rain seemed to deflect of the umbrella in my hand. He told me he would be here. I was about to give up and leave when I saw him running towards me. "I'm here!" he said, panting as he got closer to me.
"I thought you were going to break your promise," I said putting my hand on my hip.
He stared at me, still out of breath, and smiled. "You always think that", he laughed.
My frown turned into a giant smile. He finally caught on. "You figured it out," I teased, "You want us to celebrate? Maybe throw a parade or a party?"
"A parade would be nice," he said cockily.
"Never going to happen," I told him, looking him up and down.
He came closer to me and grabbed on my hips. "Please", he asked, his green eyes looking into by brown ones.
"No. You were almost late, for the fifth time in a row!" I yelled, pushing him away.
He scoffed. "You think your so great. You know I have better things to do than be with you" he said turning away.
I watched him walk away and fade away from my sight. I let him have his minute or two of a head start. The timer on my watch went off. I turned it off and smirked. "Ready or not," I whispered, "Here I come"
I cackled and ran towards where he went. I turned around the corner and stopped. I saw him going into a corner store with people. Too many people, too many witnesses, I though to myself. I closed my eyes and, with the corner store fresh in my mind, cast the spell. "Et abiit esse testes, nisi solus ille erit ad sinistram." I yelled.
I opened my eyes to see the shop filled with smoke and people running out of the building. "Perfect" I whispered to myself.
I ran down the street and started helping people out. "Are you all OK?" I asked them.
Most of them nodded and huddled together in the cold. I started to leave, pretending not to know about him. "Wait!" someone yelled, "There is still a young man in there. He was in the back of the shop. I don't think he heard the shop owner trying to get us all out"
I turned around with wide eyes. I ran into the store in "panic" trying to find him. I got into the middle of the store and stopped. I smirked. "Christopher!" I yelled, my yes going completely black, "Where are you?"
I heard some things fall over to my left. I sniff the air and catch his scent. "Go away Harriett!" he yelled back.
I cackled at his foolishness. I followed his scent to where he was. I could see him start to panic when I didn't answer him. "Harriett?" he called out.
"Yes?" I responded before turning invisible.
He turned towards me and looked around. He started having an anxiety attack. I walked closer before stopping a half a foot in front of him. I turned visible and smirked as he took a step away from me. "So, you have better things to do than be with me?" I asked.
He shook his head. "No! I'm sorry, please forgive me," he begged.
I pretended to think about. "How about, no?" I asked before pining him against the shelves with my magic.
He tried to escape from the grip my magic had on him. I smirked as I turned towards him completely. It didn't take much for me to cast the spell, It was just two simple words. "
nunc moriatur!" I yelled, aiming my magic right as his heart.
I smiled as I watched the life leave his eyes. I walked up to him and lifted his chin so he was looking at me. "Good thing I never loved you anyway, huh?" I asked before cackling loudly.
It wasn't long before I heard the sirens. I took his body off of the shelves and wrote them a little message. The door was kicked down and people were shouting. I quickly hid from their view. I watched as they read the words:
Don't mess with the witch, or she'll end your life with the flick of a switch.
That was the last time anyone ever saw me. After that people figured I was dead, or even better, rotting in hell. No matter what, I still found ways to mess with the humans and get back at them for how they treated me before Christopher. Have you ever had a friend go missing mysteriously, or have someone die without any known causes? That was me, all me. Now, maybe you will think next time, before deciding to mess with a witch.
