Third person pov
"Let me tell you something," Jungho started, crouching down before Taehyung. "It's something related to you."
Taehyung didn't want to listen to him but decided not to go against it.
He had to wait. He had to make sure this man doesn't do anything to the rest in the last hour of his life.
"I was just like you when I was young. Lovesick and naïve. You fell in love with that dumb boy there exactly in the way I fell for an omega girl who rejected me. I kept trying to make her mine. She continued to reject me every time, and in the end, I killed her."
Taehyung gritted his teeth, looking away and letting angry tears flow down his cheeks.
It was so frustrating to not be able to do anything in such a situation.
His mate was there, struggling to gain consciousness. His friends were tied to the ground, and he couldn't do anything to take their fears and pain away.
He couldn't do anything to hurt the demon wolf physically.
But he was smart enough to handle the situation.
"What you did wasn't love," Taehyung spat, glaring up at him. "You were only an obsessed and sick bastard. If you did love her, you wouldn't kill her."
Jungho laughed, patting his hair and treating him like he was a puppy. The softness was temporary, Taehyung knew. It would end soon.
There was a reason for Jungho behaving in the way he was and, Taehyung wasn't dumb to not understand that.
"No, you're wrong. There is nothing like love. That feeling is just an illusion. Get rid of it, and you'll know what power feels like," Jungho said.
Taehyung forced out a laugh at that, looking up at him with challenging eyes which amused the demon wolf more.
Where was this boy suddenly getting so much confidence and power from?
A few moments before he was begging him to stop hitting his mate and was sobbing and screaming.
"Look at how bold you are," Jungho said, smirking. "Never seen this side of yours before. What's made you so strong?"
"You wouldn't see this side of mine if it wasn't for what you did to my mate," Taehyung growled. "You were wrong. Love doesn't make someone weak."
Jungho smiled at him, looking genuinely amused, but Taehyung knew otherwise. Jungho stood back up, retracting his legs from Taehyung's lap.
Like a good, trained slave the omega was--according to Jungho--Taehyung continued to stay in his position, on the floor.
"You fell for an asshole, Kim." He made his way to the unconscious trueblood on the floor. "This person who you call a lover doesn't really love you--"
"Don't listen to him, Tae!" Jimin yelled, bruising his red wrists and ankles while trying to get out of the ropes.
He didn't stop for even a second and kept trying to fight against the warriors and the ropes which held him back, ignoring Yoongi who was begging him to calm down.
"He's just saying bullshit!"
"Keep quiet," Jungho spat, rolling his eyes at the annoying alpha. He pushed Jungkook's bleeding arm away from his body with the tip of his shoes.
"You were wrong to think that he'll ever love you."
He turned around when Taehyung didn't speak a word to oppose him, concluding that the boy was listening to him. "I know him; he is my son, after all."
"Jimin, stop moving!" Yoongi finally managed to convey his message through the link. "Jin is behind you. He'll untie you, so calm the fuck down."
Jimin took some time to comprehend the words as his focus and concentration were on Taehyung.
He fell with a thud on the ground finally, eyes still fixed on the omega whose expression seemed so hard to read.
He hoped Taehyung didn't believe him. He hoped Taehyung wasn't so gullible to think that Jungho's, their enemy's, words are true.
"I'm not lying," Jungho said, making his way back to Taehyung and standing before him. "Think about it properly."
"Stop acting like you know him," Jimin whispered, tears streaming down his cheeks. Taehyung glanced at him, heart-clenching because this was one of the first times he was seeing Jimin cry since he met him.
The alpha did cry, but it wasn't in pain or sadness.
This man before him made his best friend cry in sadness.
And who was he crying for? Jungkook. That person who he claimed to hate. He was crying because he couldn't imagine the pain Jungkook would have felt for having a father like him.
"Stop acting like you know him. You have given him only pain until now; please... stop."
"I told you to keep quiet, didn't I?" Jungho growls. "Stop trying to disobey my orders before I beat you to a pulp like last time."
Jimin sniffled, falling to his red and bleeding knees in defeat. Jungho snickered at his weak state before turning back to look at Taehyung.
"And you, Taehyung, listen to me carefully now. Open your eyes and understand the harsh reality. You aren't someone Jungkook and his wolf loves. He only loves that female he had beside him before he met you. She was his everything, you know? He behaved like she was the only thing that ever existed."
Of course, he knew about Hyejin. Well, he was the one who manipulated Jisung to kill her.
Briefly putting across, Jisung asked him for ways to become more powerful, and Jungho told him that killing the mate of his would make him weak. He could attack him then.
He hadn't known that Jungkook would kill Jisung on the spot.
It wasn't like he cared anyway. He hated that boy who annoyed him and kept requesting him to do fatherly things which he hated doing.
"She's dead," Taehyung stated, voice calm and collected but anger and irritation evident in it. "Stop talking about her with that dirty mouth of yours."
Jungho ignored the harsh order of his, clenching his hand into a fist to keep his calm.
He hated being talked to like that.
He hated to have someone order him.
But he needed to do this.
"She is dead, exactly. And just because she is gone, Jungkook is here with you. You're like that one replacement toy which a child is given so he could forget about his favourite toy which he broke or lost. He wouldn't care if you're gone if he gets back his favourite toy."
Taehyung silence made Jungho keep going, concluding that the lack of response meant that Taehyung was considering, pondering about what he was saying.
"Think about it. You know what I'm telling is correct."
"Taehyung, please don't believe him," Jimin whispers, crying because he felt pain in his chest after hearing all of those things about Jungkook.
Seeing his wrecked state and hearing all those lies from Jungho was making him cry.
He prayed to the moon goddess to not let his best friend be manipulated by this bastard.
"I pity you," Jungho said, eyes twinkling because he believed that his words were actually getting to the boy. "If you let go of this bastard and come back to me then I'll consider letting you live here without you having to work like a slave."
That was what he wanted. He wanted Taehyung to leave Jungkook so the trueblood would, being the desperate person he is, hand all his powers to him to get back Taehyung.
"Really?" Taehyung asks, looking up at the demon wolf with fake excitement. "You'll let me live here with someone who abused me, almost murdered me, and made me work like a fucking machine? Oh my god..."
Jungho frowned as the boy got to his feet and looked at him with gleeful eyes, seeming rather sadistic and malistic.
"That will be like a dream come true!"
"What--"
The demon wolf cut himself off when Taehyung's face changed into the most dangerous, scary one.
The omega radiated negative feelings, seeming to be on the verge of taking something and throwing it at him.
"You never knew your son, Jungho. You cannot understand him even if you want to, because you aren't capable of understanding purity. You compared me and Hyejin to a toy--an object--and that's the difference between you and Jungkook. He doesn't see us as objects. You do."
"Are you hearing yourself?" Jungho growls.
Taehyung scoffs, rolling his eyes.
"I am, but you aren't understanding what I'm saying because you cannot understand love. Did you think that you--meaning absolutely nothing to me--will tell me stuff like this about my own mate, and I'll stop loving him?"
Taehyung laughs, eyes crinkling as he looked at Jimin who sniffled, feeling rather proud that his friend was smart enough to not fall into the trap.
Jin and Namjoon worked busily to cut off the ropes without anyone noticing it.
The knife was small so no one notices it, but it was slowing them down and making it more difficult to do what they have to.
"You're so dumb, head alpha. After years of torture, do you think that speaking to me softly and nicely will make me fall for your tricks? That's the dumbest thing you could ever do."
"Shut up before I..." Jungho seethes through gritted teeth, veins near his forehead popping out in frustration and embarrassment.
He'd never been talked to like this before. He was always the one who was in power and dominated everyone else.
This mere, weak omega was making him a fool in front of the crowd who seemed to be liking it too, except for the warriors who were waiting for him to put the boy to his place.
Taehyung glances at the clock, mentally sighing because there was still about fifteen minutes to twelve. He had to keep the demon wolf engaged until then.
The omegas weren't brought here yet too.
There was the only way to keep Jungho occupied, and he had no hesitation to let what was going to happen.
He would rather be glad to put in the same state as Jungkook is in. They've promised to be together anyway.
For the sake of his promise to Jungkook, he has to break the promise he made to Jimin and Jungkook about not getting hurt in this plan.
"You're not as powerful and smart as you think. You're rather dumber th--"
He was thrown to the floor with a harsh push, kicked on his back the next moment. He kept the hurt voices to himself, trying not to make Jimin scared.
The alpha still shot to his feet, yelling at Jungho to stop.
He ended up getting a deep cut on his arm because Jin was trying to cut off the ropes while he stood up abruptly but didn't care about it anyway.
"Oberon!" Jimin yelled, thrashing around to set himself free. He had had enough of all this. He looked at the unconscious trueblood and screamed Oberon's name again.
The drink was supposed to weaken their wolves, right? But they hadn't even drunk a bit of it, so he was sure that Oberon was completely fine even if Jungkook wasn't.
He was mad that the wolf didn't take over until now, even when Jungho was manipulating Taehyung against him.
Maybe, the wolf doesn't even know about what's going on or did know everything but couldn't help because of his sickness which held him back from taking over.
But not doing anything now was just him being irresponsible to his mate.
Jimin didn't want to accept that Oberon was heartless to not do anything and was letting Taehyung get abused again.
He panicked when Taehyung screamed after getting kicked on his chest.
"Oberon, I know you can hear me! Stop being such a coward!" Jimin yelled, fighting against the beta warrior, Jin, who was whispering desperate pleads into his ear to calm down.
Jungho kept hitting Taehyung, getting his anger out on the boy. The warriors brought out the female omegas from the prison, and the girls gasped when they saw Taehyung being beaten up.
There all seemed perfectly fine which relieved Taehyung.
The male omega opened his eyes ajar and looked at Jungkook, peeking from between his half-closed eyes. He sighed when he saw Jungkook stirring around, brows furrowing.
You don't want to see me hurt even when you're in a worse state. Taehyung thinks, chuckling even though he was being hit.
"Oberon, you need to wake up! Your mate is in danger; he needs you!"
The omega closed his eyes, taking in all the hits which Jungho threw at him. It wasn't something new anyway. He could take all of it.
The demon wolf had seemed to go completely mad now.
His eyes had turned black red, skin turning as red as red as his eyes. The veins near his neck and forehead popped up, showing how angry he was.
Taehyung whimpered, closing his eyes.
"Oberon!" Jimin screamed again, thrashing around. "Get up, asshole!"
Taehyung was close to falling into a deep sleep. He had thought at the back of his mind of not being able to see the demon wolf's death himself. He felt dejected about it, but unless Jungho did die, it didn't matter.
He was sure that there wasn't anything to do by staying awake anyway.
He could pass out and hope to wake up to his mate sleeping beside him, calmer and more peaceful than the state he was falling unconscious in.
That seemed like a perfect dream.
But his dream couldn't come true as suddenly, complete silence fell in the room.
No sound was made now. Jimin stopped yelling. Jungho stopped kicking him, and the warriors stopped discussing what they were supposed to do.
When Taehyung heard a choking noise, he snapped open his eyes, gasping when he saw Jungkook towering Jungho, hands wrapped around his neck, squeezing his windpipe close.
He was shocked. How did Jungkook gain consciousness? He was in such a bad state... how did his mate manage to do this?
He forced himself to his feet--ignoring the stinging pain from all over his body--and stumbled his way to the trueblood.
Before he could hold him, he noticed the red eyes of his.
He freezes and tensed, the air being knocked out of him. His hands began trembling, and he looked at the wolf with terrified eyes.
Images and memories from the past came to his mind, filling him with fear again. Those eyes which were still intimidatingly red, dangerous and angry made him shiver in fear.
It has been such a long time since he last saw them and thinking about them only made him immensely horrified because he hasn't ever had a happy moment with the wolf.
He yelped when Oberon extended his free hand towards him, his eyes fixed on Jungho, and pushed him behind his back protectively, his hold slightly tight and harsh.
It did seem like he cared for the omega, but Taehyung knew otherwise.
Jungho choked out a few incoherent words, coughing.
Finally, Namjoon and Jin managed to cut off the ropes around Yoongi, Hoseok and Jimin's wrist and ankle.
The three immediately shot to their feet and tackled down a few startled warriors, snatching the swords from their hands. They swung their swords, killing all the warriors insight who were still startled by their sudden actions.
They showed no mercy to any of them.
Oberon didn't mean to show mercy too.
But the omega behind him held the wolf's arms and tried to tug it off, whispering, "You can't kill him like this! H-he is immortal."
The wolf threw the demon wolf to the floor, pinning him down by stomping on his neck.
The wounds--the bruises on his neck--seemed to heal within seconds.
The trueblood turned around to look at Taehyung in his eyes. It was as harsh as ever, firm too, and it made Taehyung's breath hitch.
He looked down submissively, taking small steps away from him but stopping when Oberon held his shoulder, evidently trying to be soft.
"Stay here," he said. "Stay with me. Jungkook doesn't want you to get hurt."
The words left Taehyung in a worse state. He didn't want to be protected by someone who has always only hurt him.
Was he even intending to protect him or was this all a facade? Taehyung couldn't even convince himself to believe that the wolf did want to keep him safe.
He shook his head, taking a few steps away from him.
"Taehyung?" Oberon calls, eyes softening when he realized that his red eyes were having a bad and negative effect on Taehyung.
"I can't give Jungkook the control," he said, voice still stern and hoarse. "He is too weak right now."
Taehyung just shook his head in response again. He had thought that when he does meet Oberon again, they will have a calm conversation and will end up together, like a couple, in the end, Venus uniting with him.
But that wasn't happening.
Everything Oberon said went undeciphered by him.
He couldn't muster up the courage to look at him in the eye. He kept shuddering and shivering in fear.
Hell, he couldn't even stand still or stay any close to Oberon, afraid that he might hit him like he used to.
Oberon's presence scared him more than Jungho's even if the latter's actions were worse than his.
He couldn't stop these involuntary actions he did out of fear.
All he could do was shake his head at everything and keep taking steps back.
His chest hurt. His wolf growled.
The person before him was the one who had abused him in every way possible. He was someone worse than Jungho to him because he abused him, tormented him and told him that he wasn't worthy of being a mate.
He compared him to someone else and always degraded him.
Oberon hurt him even after knowing that he was his mate. He abused him, and even though he was sick, Taehyung couldn't forget the fear and pain he felt. He tried to. It just wasn't possible.
He was the reason he had broken down several times.
Those eyes had become a nightmare to him. He couldn't dream of becoming close to someone who had caused him so much pain.
"No..." Taehyung whispered, the world around him spinning. He stood strong as he didn't want to lose consciousness.
Oberon's eyes widened. He took a step closer to him but held himself back from catching him because the omega seemed so scared of him.
Honestly, it hurt him to see Taehyung so broken because of him.
It made him feel a pang of pain in his chest. It made him feel sorrow because he barely even remembered what he had done to this boy because he had done it all when he was extremely sick.
He didn't remember much of the things he had done in the past months as his condition was extremely bad back then.
Even now, when Jungkook was being abused by his father, he didn't even know. He didn't know that something was wrong until Jimin yelled for him and called him.
He didn't know what was happening around his own self. He didn't know what he was doing a few months ago.
However, he was getting better. How and why? He doesn't know.
On the other end, Taehyung genuinely wished to forgive Oberon for what he has done in the past, but the wolf's actions were engraved in his mind and heart.
Jungho had abused him in a worse way too, but Taehyung hadn't expected to receive any love from him.
But Oberon was his mate. Oberon was supposed to love and cherish him. It hurt much more to be treated like that by Oberon.
He concluded right then and there that he could forgive the trueblood wolf, but not love him. The past was too harsh and rough to be forgotten easily.
He couldn't forget what happened.
He closed his eyes and tried to stop the thoughts which crossed his mind. He was brought to a strong embrace suddenly and he melted in Jimin's arms, burying his face in his hard chest.
"Taehyung-ie," Jimin whimpered, kissing him all over his face.
The omega breathed out, relaxing. He looked at the trueblood wolf with studying eyes. He knew that if Oberon did feel anything for him then he wouldn't stand Jimin being touchy with him.
The wolf just looked at them with expressionless eyes. He didn't seem angry or annoyed, rather unbothered.
Taehyung was glad that it was this way.
He was glad that Oberon wasn't affected.
He didn't want to have a relationship with Oberon. Maybe something else but not lovers. Or maybe, a lot later, they could begin a relationship, but not now.
Not now.
"Are you okay?" Jimin asks, throwing the bloodied sword on the ground to hold Taehyung. "Just one minute more, Tae. It'll all end. I'm sure it will."
Taehyung nodded at him, holding his shoulders to keep himself from falling to his knees.
Jungho was back to his feet now. He stood in his wobbly legs and glared at the trueblood piercingly.
Oberon grabbed Jimin's sword from the floor and held it in his hands tightly. He growled at the back of his throat warningly at Jungho.
"Thirty seconds," Jimin whispered to the omega who stared at the scene before him, not making any move to stop Oberon from hurting Jungho now.
"You deserve to die," Oberon seethes, placing the sharp end of the sword on the demon wolf's neck, letting it pierce his skin.
"After what you did to me, my mother, my other half, to Jisung, my dead mate and Taehyung... You deserve to die."
"I don't think you understand what your bitch was saying," Jungho smirks, wiping off blood from the corner of his lips, doing nothing to push the sword away. He was feeling his torn skin heal right away. "I can't die."
"Five seconds," Jimin sees the clock, heart sinking. He held onto his hurt friend tightly, glancing at the female omegas, eyes softening when it meets Irene's.
He looked away immediately, focusing on Jungho.
It would honestly hurt very bad if anything happened to the omegas, especially Irene.
He had to admit, he liked her a lot. He couldn't forget about that night which was rather a night none of them wanted to look back to.
He loved losing his virginity to her.
But he wasn't sure if she'll ever survive this situation and give him a chance to know her more.
Either way, he wished that their plan is successful.
Oberon snickered at Jungho, swinging his sword and making a huge cut on his father's neck, exactly when the clock struck twelve. He knew about what they had planned because he had been active when Jungkook took the virginity of the omega girls.
He smirked when his father's blood spilt on his face, staining the floor too.
The demon wolf fell to the floor immediately, his legs no longer able to stand erect. He screamed, feeling pain after years, and to say that it hurt would be an understatement.
His limbs felt like they were coming off--like someone was pulling them off his body--while his entire body just kept jerking in pain.
He screamed, forcefully sitting up with the aid of his hands to analyze his surroundings and trying to figure out what is happening. His body was burning from within; he couldn't feel anything, going numb.
The omegas were still there, he realized, and horror filled him to the brim. Why hadn't the demon accepted them?
"N-no! What's going on?!" He yelled, collapsing on the floor and screaming again. His skin colour started to change--the pale white skin turned blue and brown--and within seconds it got hard to tell whether he was even a werewolf.
Screams echoed through the suddenly quiet, shaken mansion.
Oberon just stared with satisfied eyes, smirking at the pained and heartbreaking screams his father let out.
Did he feel regret? Not a single ounce of it.
It satisfied his evil and thirsty desire. This was exactly how the person he loves had died, on the floor, crying and screaming while begging for mercy after being set on fire.
They watched the demon wolf die a slow, painful death. He kept screaming for help but all his warriors were already killed.
They didn't give any sort of explanation to him to let him know what was happening. He didn't deserve that kind of mercy.
He didn't deserve to know that this was his end. He only deserved the pain he was feeling.
This was his ending. This was the painful ending of his. He felt his dreams of being powerful and immortal shattered, just like the way he tried to break many people's dreams of having a good life.
He felt what real pain feels like. He felt the pain he has been giving everyone until now. He screamed and screamed, the outer skin of his body first disappearing, leaving behind just a red mass before he slowly vanished completely, turning into ash.
Once his screams and cries died down, the silence remained.
It was hard to understand whether the people there were silently mourning for his death or were just too shocked to react.
Yoongi and Hoseok killed the last warrior together, removing most of the evilness from the mansion.
The only one left was Sangmi.
And this time, the people who had been quiet all this while came forward themselves and surrounded the female who yelled at them to go away and told them to stay away.
She was only powerful until Jungho remained. She has no existence other than being a luna because she was married to Jungho.
"Jungkook!" she yelled, "get these people away from me!"
Oberon smirks, scoffing and looking at her with a deep, piercing glare. After all that she did to him, she even wanted him to save her.
Such a pathetic woman. she continued to order Oberon to go to her and help her out, screaming when the people grabbed their swords.
And after a few minutes, she lay dead on the ground, deep cut marks on his neck and face.
The crowd erupted in cheers, finally getting free of every evil soul from their pack which used to be perfectly beautiful before the dead demon wolf had taken over.
That moment marked the beginning of their happier, more successful life.
That moment marked the satisfaction and beginning of the healing of the trueblood wolf's soul.
That moment marked the fulfilment of Taehyung's revenge.
The omega smiled, tears glistening in his eyes. His head and limbs were bleeding from previously being hit by Jungho.
His knees suddenly gave out, the world around him spinning again.
Before he could completely fall, he had someone wrapping their arms around him to steady his body and hold him back from crashing to the floor.
"Taehyung?" He heard his mate's voice. He couldn't think of anything anymore.
He wanted to push him away but didn't have the energy to do so.
Most of his problems were solved after Jungho died.
Some of them were yet to be solved, and the main problem he was facing right now was that he and his wolf felt nothing for the trueblood wolf but did feel strong and deep emotions for his other half, Jungkook.
It was really complicated.
He couldn't think of anything. He couldn't seem to muster any feelings for Oberon other than forgiveness.
The omega finally passed out after being held against the warm chest of Oberon who whispered something about everything being alright in his ears.
