Third person pov

Taehyung came back to his room after going around the whole house. There was no one at home except for him and Jungkook.

After he fell asleep last night, he hadn't woken up until morning. Luckily, his mate had called Namjoon after the rest of his hyungs had finished their work.

That's all they had to do. Their work was over right there.

Tomorrow was the day they will know whether whatever they did was right or they messed everything up.

If they win tomorrow, their life ahead would be made much easier and happier. Jungho would be erased from the world, and all of those people who suffered because of him could take a deep breath of relief.

If they lose, they would be proud that they tried at least. If not in this way, then they'll find some other way to win. Taehyung wasn't going to stop at anything but success.

No matter what happens... unless none of his family member's life is in danger, he will continue to try and defeat Jungho.

He had no intention to forgive and feel mercy on Jungho. Earlier on, he felt the same anger for Jungkook who he forgave because there was a solid reason for behaving the way he did.

He forgave his wolf. Even though he still felt his skin crawl when he remembered the times Oberon had hurt and thrashed him, he felt no anger towards the wolf as he knew that he had been sick.

He forgave Jungkook too and started loving him more than anyone else. And even though he had forgiven Oberon and the wolf was still his mate, loving Oberon or not would be up to Venus.

With matters related to Jungkook and Oberon, Taehyung would keep in mind that the abuse the wolf had done was because he wasn't normal.

But Jungho isn't sick. Jungho himself gave up his humanity and feelings to become how he is now.

Taehyung knew that the demon wolf felt only pride for what he has done in the past, to him and the other omegas.

"You're up, baby?" He heard Jungkook's raspy voice. His legs worked on their own as he quickly got back to the bed and got back under the sheets, hugging Jungkook.

The elder hummed, cradling him close to himself. Before he could slip back into a deep sleep, he asked him something curiously, "Why did you get up so early? It's just nine in the morning."

"I wanted to see whether they were here or not."

Jungkook nodded a little. He was tired as he had slept only three hours.

Yoongi had taken a lot of time for finishing his work; he hadn't topped a person for way too long so it was difficult for him to one after the other. Making the virgin omegas cum was a huge problem too, as he stated.

Moreover, Hoseok had been angry as he was asked to do such a thing by Taehyung.

Jungkook took some time to make him understand that what they did had no meaning in the first place. They did it because they had no one else who could do it and they had very little time to actually go around and search for someone.

He knew that it was still wrong. But this wouldn't be considered cheating; it was just a sacrifice they made.

Taehyung wasn't heartless to ask them to do things like this when they are already mated.

He was just trying to save his noonas and defeat which, at the time, is a priority.

Somehow, he managed to convince Hoseok and calmed him down. After Yoongi was done, he and Hoseok spent some more time there, fulfilling another request of Jungkook's before they left.

Namjoon took quite a while to reach the mansion too. Nevertheless, all the work was done at the end of a few hours.

As soon as he woke up now, his mind drifted to what they're supposed to do tomorrow.

He was tired and worried about what was going to happen the next day, but having Taehyung near him made him feel comforted and calm.

He slipped right back into a deep sleep, holding his omega as his life depended on it.

Taehyung just looked at him sleep, rubbing the tip of his fingers on his scalp. The trueblood looked so calm and cute that it melted his heart.

He realized that it was the first time in a few days that his mate looked so calm.

He must've been so stressed and worried. Taehyung thinks, a sad pout forming on his face. He wanted to make him happy.

He gasped inaudibly when he heard the bell ring. Jungkook looked completely unaffected by the sound.

He got off the bed, replacing himself with the pillow and tip-toeing to exit the room.

As soon as he got out, he closed the door behind and ran downstairs as the impatient person outside the door was knocking and ringing the bell again.

"Can't you wait!" He whisper yelled as soon as he opened the door.

Jimin smiled at him, placing the box in his hand on the ground before bringing him to his embrace.

"Happy birthday, Tae!" He wished him, coddling him to his chest and humming the happy birthday song for him in an angelic tone.

Taehyung's lips parted in shock. He just realized that today was his birthday.

Well, he hated birthdays anyway. It's just one such day where you have high expectations for a good day and because of that, the smallest things end up hurting you.

Also, his previous birthdays have been the worst days of his life.

"Look at what I brought for you," Jimin said and crouched down to lift the box and bring it inside the house. He placed it on a table and settled down on the couch before opening the box.

"I didn't get anything much." He pressed his lips to a thin line. "Low on cash, you know?"

He pulled out a huge tray which was covered with another round vessel from the top. Taehyung bit down on his lip when he realized that it was a cake.

He used to love them in his childhood, but after he was taken away on his birthday...

Jimin pulled out a few expensive clothes which were wrapped in costly and stylish paper. He placed them on the table too, placing a small black box on top of it.

"Clothes and hair dye," He said and nothing caught Taehyung's eyes other than the hair dye.

"You bought me black hair dye!" Taehyung exclaimed happily and grabbed it, examining the colour. "Thank you!"

Jimin scoffed, face twisting in amusement and annoyance at the same time.

"Out of all the things, a fucking cheap hair dye caught your attention."

"Yes, it did," Taehyung said, reading everything written on the box. "You know how bad I want to dye my hair all black. I love your and Jungkook's dark hair. It looks sexy."

"Whatever," Jimin said unbothered. "Who else gave you what?"

Taehyung shrugged, still captivated by the hair dye. He looked up and said in a bland and disinterested tone, "No one knows it's my birthday."

Jimin raised his eyebrows before slumping down on the couch sadly.

"Jungkook..."

"He doesn't know, and I prefer it that way. He's too tired. If he gets to know it's my birthday then he'd try to find a way to make my day better."

"But it's your--"

"Doesn't matter, Jimin. It's just a day like the other days, day after all."

Jimin still looked dejected, and Taehyung understood what he was thinking about.

Jimin concluded that Taehyung's day would only be the best if his own mate wishes him.

"I'll give him a surprise," Taehyung says, taking the clothes into his hand. "I'll wear all this for him and cut the cake with him when he wakes up."

Jimin smiles, eyes disappearing behind his lids. He scooted to the omega and hugged him.

"It's your birthday, but you're giving him a surprise? Anyway, love you. Make sure to enjoy your day. I know you hate celebrating birthdays so I won't tell anyone about it, okay?"

Taehyung nodded gratefully, thanking him again and pecking his cheeks to bid him goodbye.

After the alpha left, he came back inside the house to grab a table and two chairs and dragged them to the backyard.

He inhaled and exhaled deeply, loving the sweet scent of flowers that lingered in the air.

It was cold but slightly sunny too. He was glad that it hadn't snowed. He decided what he had to do because he knew that Jungkook would surely not wake up until evening.

--------

Jungkook woke up while being completely surrounded by Taehyung's scent. He hummed, pushing his head to both sides, cracking a few bones.

He could barely even open his swollen eyes. He held himself back from drifting back to sleep.

He wasn't even surprised when he saw the time--seven at night--as he had woken up a few times before but went right back to sleep because of the comforting lavender-cherry scent in the room.

He wondered why Taehyung hadn't come to wake him up. Also, he was sure that the omega had come in once in a while to spread his scent in the room as he could smell him really well, the smell not faded.

He got out of bed, hopping into the washroom to take a quick shower. He wore a few comfortable clothes before leaving his room.

"Tae?" He calls, silence resonating in the corridor. He pressed his lips to a thin line and called his omega again.

"Backyard," Taehyung answers through the link. The sudden voice in his head made the trueblood jump.

He made his way downstairs with a frown, wondering what Taehyung was doing in the background.

I feel so bad because I wasn't allowed to wish him. He must be so heartbroken. He pouts at that.

Of course, he knew it was his angel's birthday today. He was told the previous day and it made him feel guilty because he didn't even know it's his mate's birthday the next day.

Jennie and Jisoo also told him that he was very sensitive on birthdays.

He wanted to do a grand celebration, but they warned him, told him that it would only end up making Taehyung uncomfortable and annoyed.

Jimin even told him that any expensive gift won't make him feel anything at all; he had experience from the past years he spent with Taehyung.

Jimin had told him that he will bring a few gifts for Taehyung in the morning and act like he doesn't know what they're doing in the evening.

Jungkook planned something more touching. More sweet and cute because Taehyung doesn't like costly gifts.

He'll give it to Taehyung a while later, near the ending of the night.

He opened the main door of the house and got out, taking hasty steps to the back of the house, stumbling on a few stones as it was dark.

He grew surprised when he saw a silver light appearing as he got closer to the backyard.

With a few more steps, Taehyung's frame came to his vision. His jaw dropped, eyes widened in surprise, blood rushing to his face as soon as Taehyung's angelic form was comprehended by him.

He looked so good with the skinny black pants which hugged his legs and hips, shiny top which was silver in colour just like the light, his blond hair going well with his outfit.

He looked ethereal.

He was barefoot; palms ad feet looking pale because of the cold.

The younger turned around when he felt Jungkook's presence. A wide smile formed on his face when he sees the surprised look on his mate's face.

"Jimin gifted it to me," Taehyung said, smiling. "He said he just wanted to give it to me to make me happy."

He kept the information of it being his birthday to himself because he knew that his mate would be heartbroken to realize that he forgot his birthday.

He didn't know that Jungkook knew well that it was his birthday.

He grinned sweetly at Jungkook who made his way to him, still studying his look, checking him out.

It was the first birthday which went happily. Though, he basically spent the whole day alone, decorating the backyard for his surprise date with Jungkook was much better than any other birthday.

He wasn't sad or alone today even though he had been all by himself the whole day.

There was a reason for that.

The reason was Jungkook. His mate.

Jungkook was the greatest gift he ever received.

"Jimin gave me a hair dye too," Taehyung said in an excited tone. "I'll put it on before the day we celebrate the death of Jungho."

Jungkook chuckled, wrapping his arms around him and feeling the silky material of his shirt.

"Wait, wait. We have a cake too," Taehyung said and pulled him to the table. He held the handle of the vessel which was covering the cake and lift it up.

"What is this for?"

"We never celebrated our relationship..." Taehyung gave a reason which was exactly the thing he wanted to celebrate since they became boyfriends.

The fact that he was dating Jungkook meant more, was worth more than a birthday to him. He would rather choose to have a date than a celebration for his birthday.

"This is for celebrating our relationship?" Jungkook asks, coughing when his voice came out in a very playful way. "Well, let's sing a happy birthday song for our relationship then?"

Taehyung nodded enthusiastically and settled down on the chair urging the trueblood to sit too, which the elder did.

They cut the cake together while singing, Taehyung having a grin etched on his face.

Jungkook fed Taehyung the cake, smiling as he spread a little cream on his lips. The omega whined.

"I applied only lip balm as makeup and you're spoiling that too," Taehyung stated, pouting.

"Alright, let me make it right." Jungkook shrugged, leaning forward and licking the cream off his lips before sucking n them.

Taehyung blushed, trying to look away but ending up moaning when Jungkook connected their lips together, kissing him feverishly.

Jungkook broke away, looking at him with devouring eyes as he pecked his lips and whispered, "Thank you for dating me."

Taehyung pushed him away, pulling his wrist away from Jungkook's hold.

"Thank you too, but if I don't say anything now, you might end up making love with me right here."

"It's not a bad idea--"

"It is," Taehyung stated, pressing a few buttons on the Bluetooth speaker to switch it on and connect it to his phone. "I want to do other things with you."

"Do what?" Jungkook asks, stretching his limbs, eyes fixed on Taehyung's plump ass which was even more evident because of those pants.

Taehyung turned to face him, smiling evilly as he pressed the play button. "Dance."

Jungkook smirk immediately fell. He hated the idea. He didn't want to dance.

He did it really well but didn't want to do it before Taehyung and embarrass himself.

He didn't have an option to say "no". Not when Taehyung was looking at him with puppy eyes which made his throat run completely dry and made every wish to oppose to die within himself.

For his omega's satisfaction, the trueblood slow danced with him for a while until his stomach growled, empty as he hasn't eaten anything from last night.

Taehyung fed him food while treating him with utter softness; it amused the trueblood. It felt like it was his birthday today and not Taehyung's.

He let Taehyung do whatever he wanted.

He let the omega kiss his cheek and forehead, stroke his hair, massage his neck and shoulder and every other thing which he seemed to do unconsciously, without even realizing that he was doing it.

"You're being so cute today," Jungkook stated, pinching Taehyung's cheek. "It's hard to resist a cutie like you."

Taehyung flipped his hair, giggling when Jungkook laughed.

"I miss Hayoon," Taehyung stated. He looked at Jungkook with expectant eyes, hoping the elder to make his day better by letting him hear his daughter's voice.

"I left my phone on the rooftop," Jungkook said, grinning. "Please, get it for me, pup."

Taehyung immediately nodded, turning around and skipping his way to the main door; Jungkook cursed under his breath when he saw how his ass moved with every skip he took.

When he was out of sight, an innocent smile formed on Jungkook's face.

Time to make my baby cry in happiness.

On the other hand, Taehyung had no clue as to what was going to happen. He just made his way to the rooftop and opened the door.

It seemed slightly strange as Jungkook had stopped asking him to do some work for him after bringing him here from the prison and did everything himself.

He didn't care about that anyway.

A strong scent of scented candles hit his nose, making him slightly confused. The strong smell made shivers go down his spine and he noticed that the candles were kept on the table, not in flame, burnt out.

He wondered why Jungkook had lighted them last night. Why had he come here in the first place?

The phone was placed on the table too, beside a tiny box and a peculiar black object. He frowned, grabbing the small object and examined it, pressing a few buttons.

He jumped when sounds suddenly started coming from it. He steadied it in his hand before it could fall.

His eyes widened when he heard voices coming from the object. It shocked him because it was so clear that it made him feel like the voice came from someone who stood right beside him.

"Taehyung-ie, It's Jennie and Jisoo here. We knew you wouldn't like being wished personally so we're wishing you like this. Baby, you know we love you, right? You didn't just treat us well but also saved our lives. What you did for us is something I can't thank you enough for."

Taehyung exhaled shakily, frowning eyes staring at the ground as he focused on what his noonas were saying.

What is all this?  He thinks, feeling weird from within. Did Jungkook know that it was my birthday today?

Listening to her broken voice made his heart clench.

"Yeah, Tae." Jisoo agreed. "In the future, when I and Jennie will have many happy and beautiful moments, we will remember that we are living that moment because of you. I love you! Happy birthday."

Taehyung heart clenched, throat hurting from how hard he was forcing down pained sounds.

"Taetae," Taehyung's shoulder slumped down when he heard Jimin's voice. The alpha had come here just this morning and he had himself shooed him away, but hearing his sweet voice call him like that when he was already emotional didn't help at all.

"You always say that you hate birthdays. Will you still hate them now? After all of what you're feeling now, I'm sure your feelings towards birthdays should change."

Taehyung shrugged, forcing out a chuckle even though Jimin couldn't see him.

"Jungkook put a lot of effort into thinking about all this, baby. It isn't much," The alpha laughed, "but I know you'll love it."

"I do," Taehyung agreed, sniffling.  "I love this surprise and the one who planned it too."

"Look who's here." Taehyung laughed brokenly when he heard Hoseok's cheerful voice.

These were people he met almost every day, but still, right now, with them spilling their hearts out to him in this way, he felt so emotional and mushy from inside.

"Happy birthday, little one. I'm still mad at what you made me do, but I'll forgive you. I don't have much to say other than thanking you for coming to my cousin's life. I can tell just by looking at him that he sees the whole universe in you. He doesn't know to fake his feelings, Tae, so when he says that he loves you, you should know that he truly means it."

"I know..." Taehyung mumbled to himself. "I know he loves me."

"That's right," Yoongi said. "First of all, Happy birthday. Second, I wanna say that you just know very well how to wrap men in your fingers. If I wasn't mated to Hoseok, I might've fallen for you."

Taehyung laughed through, tears forming in his eyes when Hoseok bickered with Yoongi about trying to cheat on him.

Taehyung understood that they had recorded all this yesterday after he had fallen asleep and before the omegas were taken away to the mansion again.

There was silence for a while after Hoseok's and Yoongi's voices faded before he heard a voice that made his heart stop.

"Mommy," His child's voice wasn't as clear as the others. Taehyung concluded that Jungkook had recorded her voice after calling her through the phone.

He desperately leaned closer, trying to hear her more clearly.

The girl's voice was hoarse, laden with sleep, but she still sounded excited. He couldn't hold himself back from crying anymore.

"Happy birthday, mommy! Daddy told me you don't like gifts, but I know you will love mine! I drew our family picture, mommy. Sana aunty says that it looks beautiful. When I come back, I'll give you this drawing as a gift and give you a lot of kisses too. Hayoonie misses mommy! I love you!"

Taehyung held the recorder closer to his ears, whimpering and sobbing as he heard every single word she said.

He choked out a chuckle when she told him about kissing him as a gift. That would also be the sweetest gift ever, alongside Jungkook's presence.

After all, Hayoon was the miracle in his life. She had been the light in his previous dark life. She is  his happiness.

"I'm going to sleep after this, mommy, but promise me that you will call tomorrow. I want to wish you and hear you say 'thank you'!" She pleaded and Taehyung choked out more sobs.

"S-sure, my baby."

Another moment of silence followed. This time, his heartbeat increased because he knew exactly who was going to speak next.

He heard a small sigh, a breathy chuckle which managed to take his own breath away.

"My Taehyungie," his mate said with adoration in his voice, "I'm really bad at expressing myself through words, love. Still, I want to speak my heart out to you and tell you everything I feel here because I can't do it when looking at you in the eye."

Taehyung sobbed, his free hand clenching the shirt near his heart.

"Taehyung, if you would tell my childhood self that a person like you existed, I wouldn't believe it and refuse with all my heart. You are such an angel; I thought people like you only lived in dreams and imagination," The alpha chuckled.

"Somehow, I managed to get someone as precious as you. I'm not lying when I say that I hated having people around me, Tae. I hurt an angel like you because this world and I had made myself harsh."

The trueblood took a deep breath in.

"My actions couldn't be justified by any reason. No apology could make me earn forgiveness from you, I had thought. But again, you proved to me that you really are an angel by forgiving me."

Taehyung sobbed harder. His knees gave out and he let himself kneel on the ground. Listening to these words had a strong, unexplainable effect on him.

"I never deserved it. I didn't deserve your love," Jungkook's voice cracked but he laughed it off.

"I didn't know when you became my everything from a stranger. I found myself forcefully doing things to hurt you while I usually hurt people without realizing it. Your smile, eyes and everything became the things I wanted to see. Those things enthralled me. Your way of behaving, speaking and everything else about you, enthralled me."

Taehyung hit his hand on the table, frustrated at how hard he was crying.

He heard a chuckle from behind him but ignored it, concentrating on the recorder because he knew who was behind him.

"I started finding my reason, my happiness in you. When you confessed to me that you loved me that night, I felt like I had got everything that I ever wanted. Love didn't hold a stronger meaning to me before I met you."

"I love you too," Taehyung said. He, again, ignored the soft and sweet hum from behind him.

"I wish to have a bright future with you, Taehyung. I want our relationship to get stronger with every day. I want to marry you and have many, many pups with you."

Taehyung gasped, covering his mouth with his hand to muffle the surprised sounds. He shook his head, feeling shy suddenly.

"Promise me, Tae. Promise me to never leave me. And if you do, I still want to be beside you, holding your hand, ending our--or rather creating a new beginning together."

Taehyung nodded softly, a smile playing on his lips. "I want us to remain together forever too."

"That's all I had to say. Happy birthday and I love you, Hayoon and our future pups more than anyone else!"

That's where the recording ended, leaving Taehyung in a completely wrecked state.

He stood up, placing the recorder on the table and turned around to look at Jungkook who had recorded his reaction with the omega's phone so he could send it to himself and the other people who wished to see his reaction.

Taehyung didn't care about that at all. He stared at Jungkook who looked back with an amused expression that fell when Taehyung started wailing like a child.

Jungkook strode to him and took him to his embrace, laughing at how cute he was.

He only felt warmth spread his chest when the omega hit his chest and hit him, grumbling about making him cry.

This year, he didn't cry tears of pain or sadness.

He cried in overwhelming happiness.

"You're still being so cute," Jungkook said, kissing his red cheek and grabbing a tissue to wipe his tears and snot.

Taehyung's sobs turned into sniffles after being showered with kisses and praises. He pouted, glaring at Jungkook.

The trueblood winked before leaning down and whispering into his ears, "You didn't say no to giving me puppies."

Taehyung gasped, slapping his chest and pushing him away.

"I didn't say yes too!" He said, wide eyes looking at Jungkook. Before the trueblood could say anything else, he added, "Our possessive daughter would never agree to share!"

Jungkook's shoulders slumped down and he pouted.

"Hayoon or me?" He asks, looking at Taehyung with puppy eyes, asking him to choose one of them.

"Hayoon," Taehyung answers without any hesitation, laughing when Jungkook looked at him with a blank expression which wasn't necessarily upset. It was rather amusing.

Jungkook's heart melted on seeing him smile.

Damn, I've lost my mind. He tells himself, laughing, but the happiness in his face vanished when he heard a pained, broken voice in his mind.

"You love him..."

"Oberon?" He calls but gets no response at all.
