Third person pov
"Did I tell you to do that?" Taehyung asks, looking at him with a frown. "Why did you spoil the thing I was making."
Jungkook chewed on his lower lip and looked at Taehyung with wide doe eyes. His hands were clasped together behind his back as he listened to Taehyung scold him.
He didn't intend to spoil whatever Taehyung was making, but he didn't know the difference between tablespoon and teaspoon, so he ended up putting a tablespoon of salt in the food.
Taehyung was mad at him not, but he wasn't guilty. Taehyung just looked so cute when crossing his arms before him and glaring at him with his pretty eyes. It was hard to concentrate on what he was saying and not his words.
"I didn't intend to," He said softly and froze when Taehyung narrowed his eyes, glare becoming icier. "You told me to add a spoon of salt in it."
"I said teaspoon!" Taehyung exclaimed. Jungkook shrugged softly at that, pouting.
"Let's make it agai--"
"You're wasting a lot of food. We're eating this even if it's salty," Taehyung said sternly. There's no way he was going to throw away all the food, of course.
Jungkook sighed and nodded. He chose not to go against Taehyung's decisions. He didn't want to blemish their just developing relationship in the way he blemished the food by making mistakes.
He didn't know what was happening. Everything was hard to understand. Suddenly, Taehyung decided to talk to him and be sweeter to him. It was all happening way too fast. He remembered how angry the omega was just about a few days ago.
He wished for all this to happen anyway. It's been two months; he was glad Taehyung was becoming more forgiving and was ready to forget the past.
He was worried that he would do something wrong which would result in Taehyung going away from him. His past wasn't known by the omega yet; he didn't know if Taehyung will be alright after listening to it all.
He wished to get it all out. He wanted Taehyung to know everything so no secret would remain between both of them. He wanted to feel the burden on his heart lessened.
The truth had to be out. The sooner, the better.
But he was anxious that Taehyung would leave him after learning about Hyejin being his first mate. It made him scared.
Who would like the fact that they aren't the only mate of a person? They would rather feel immensely hurt and would think that they aren't anything but a tool for a suffering person to move on with.
A replacement tool. Something which wouldn't ever be as perfect as the actual tool, but having no choice left, a person had to use it.
Taehyung would think that just because he couldn't get Hyejin, he was claiming to feel and like Taehyung.
That isn't true. He really did love Taehyung. Also, he wasn't even trying to move on from Hyejin. If it wasn't for Taehyung, he would continue loving only her.
Nevertheless, he tried to tell everything to Taehyung. He wasn't comfortable at all and kept stuttering in nervousness, so Taehyung stopped him from telling him anything.
"It's okay." He had said. "I want to know everything, but it would be better if you trust me enough to tell it to me rather than telling it all in fear or hurry."
It relived him, made him feel so much better that all his fear vanished.
It would be fine; he was sure it would be fine. It was alright to take everything slowly.
For now, he concentrated on strengthening their relationship. He wanted Taehyung to remove all bitterness from his heart and look at him with only love and care. It was a difficult task, but it wasn't impossible.
The younger hadn't completely forgotten about everything yet. Though he had suddenly decided to get on better terms with him, his wounds hadn't fully healed.
Taehyung, whenever remembered of the past, would speak harshly to him, but he was trying to get better. That was all that was required.
Taehyung was more determined to let Jungkook know that he really did want to listen to him. The need to forgive Jungkook got stronger along with the need to be with him.
They were nurturing their relationship at the moment by spending more time with each other, sometimes even having long conversations at night about unimportant stuff. It felt serene and good.
They began cooking food together, eating while having small talks, planting trees and many other such things. They enjoyed every second of it. The small arguments and chaste, small hugs they shared became something they look back to while smiling.
Taehyung definitely didn't regret his decision of moving on.
It frustrated him, sometimes made him angry to not know everything about Jungkook. He realized how much of an angel the elder is, completely different from his father. He was being only sweet and caring now, so it made him wonder why he had been so evil in the past.
He also understood that Jungkook was usually cold to people at first and didn't know how to speak sweetly to people he doesn't know. Well, that's how he is, so Taehyung could understand his past cold behaviour.
Being a trueblood, he was harsh, selfish and ever-angry too. He understood that now.
Though he understood Jungkook, he still couldn't understand Oberon at all. Why did he become like this? Why did he behave so differently from his human form? He asked all these questions but didn't get any definite answer from Jungkook.
He assumed that all this was related to Hyejin too, so he kept quiet and buried his curiosity within himself. He had to wait patiently for Jungkook to be ready to tell him everything.
"Sit," He ordered Jungkook softly before placing two plates of food on the table. "Let's eat quickly. We need to prepare for tomorrow."
Jungkook nodded, grinning.
"What are we doing?" He asks curiously. "I usually made a cake and celebrated her birthday virtually. She gets all excited."
"Hayoon's birthday shouldn't be so simple, don't you think? Even though she's not here. we'll decorate the whole house and make a huge cake for her, is that fine?"
Jungkook nods excitedly before sighing.
"I only got to celebrate her first birthday with her," He said sadly, pressing his lip into a thin line. "After that, I've only got to celebrate it while she isn't here."
"Don't worry," Taehyung consoled before smiling confidently. "This will be the last year you won't celebrate her birthday with her anyway."
"What do you mea--" Taehyung cuts him off by asking, "Are you going to bring all the decoration yourself? I can help you."
"No, I'll do it," Jungkook said, smiling, forgetting all about what Taehyung said first. Taehyung smiling widely at him.

Taehyung was in the library, cutting paper and all other things. The table he was working on looked really messy, but he didn't mind that at the moment as he was busy cutting paper in the proper way.
The main reason he was in the library was because of the smell of books that lingered in the air and calmed his senses.
When the door opened with a clacking sound, he snapped his head up, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion when he sees Jungkook there because the elder usually just stayed in his office room until all his work is done (that is, excluding the several times he comes out to secretly check on Taehyung. Taehyung didn't know about these clandestine actions anyway).
"I searched the whole house for you... should've come here to look for you first," Jungkook said, smiling as he walked further into the room, closer to the boy who stood up and looked at him with suspiciously narrowed eyes.
"I'm doing all the work here only because you were supposed to be busy, and you're roaming around the house?"
"No, I wanted to do something with you," the elder said immediately. He did have work--a lot of work-- but he didn't have the wish to do all that anyway.
"What do you want to do with me?" Taehyung asks, frowning slightly. "We still need to decorate this huge house of your--"
"Ours," Jungkook grumbles, pouting like an angry child. Taehyung rolls his eyes and shrugged before saying, "Tell me what you want."
"Let's play," Jungkook said with twinkling eyes, looking at the omega expectantly. Taehyung grew even more confused.
"Play?" He asks, dumbfounded.
"Yes. I saw you in Hayoon's room today morning; you were looking through her toys and stuff. Let's play some indoor game to remember her and feel her presence because I know, we both are missing her equally much."
"Jeon, you're daughter plays mostly only those games which need a lot of energy. I've never seen her play something while sitting down," the younger said and shook his head with a soft smile decorating his face, thinking about his energetic pup.
"Outdoor game?" Jungkook asks with a smirk.
"What? Do you think I can't win you in an outdoor game?" Taehyung asks back with a frown.

After a single match of badminton, Taehyung found himself back inside the house with Uno cards clutched in his hand.
He had lost terribly, with absolutely no point while Jungkook got 10 points in 10 rounds. The rules were really simple: they just had to make sure they hit the shuttlecock and not let it fall on the ground.
Well, he lost. He wasn't going to play an outdoor game with him ever again.
"Wanna play an outdoor game with me again, Tae?" Jungkook teases, wriggling his brows suggestively. Taehyung just rolls his eyes, grumbling under his breath.
The elder laughed heartily, reaching forward to pinch his cheeks, pouting when the omega swatted his hand away.
"Okay, let's begin," Jungkook says finally, placing a card on the ground.
The elder couldn't stop smiling, as he kept staring at a concentrating Taehyung, concluding that the omega hated losing. The happiness that spread his face when he put a +4 card was indescribable.
Jungkook wanted to laugh at the silly expressions he made when playing. It was worth everything.
He didn't care whether he lost or won; he just liked the game because of the giddy feeling he felt when Taehyung let out frustrated huffs or squeals. It made him want to squish the younger in a tight hug while telling him how cute he is.
Jungkook put his last card down then muttered, "Uno."
He looked up when he got no reaction and snickered when he saw the disbelieving look on Taehyung's face. He chuckled when the younger threw his single card at his face.
"I was so close to winning!" Taehyung whined, slumping down on the ground. Jungkook lay down beside him, nudged him with his elbow, smirking, making his whines grow louder.
"You're no fun," Taehyung complained in a whiny tone. "If it was Jimin, he would let me win."
"How can he let you win? You're just a sour loser!" Jungkook exclaimed, scoffing at his cute behaviour.
"Jimin always flaps his card before my eyes when he has only one left so I can say 'uno' and make him lose," The younger of the two said and rolled his eyes.
"You consider winning like that as an actual win?" Jungkook snickered.
"Shut up!"
"Alright, alright. I get it my sour loser baby; you just want to win somehow."
Taehyung blushed, looking away. He loved how Jungkook called him his. He loved the thought of belonging to Jungkook.
He could see how Jungkook had warmed up to him and was getting more sweeter with every passing day. He liked it so much.
"Get up now. Both of us have a lot of work to do."
---------
"Are you asleep?"
"Hmm," Taehyung hummed, extending his arms towards Jungkook, telling him to come and lay down beside him. He didn't bother to open his eyes.
Jungkook put the wet towel away on the couch, ruffling his wet hair before making his way to the bed. He made sure to wear sweatpants and a shirt before coming to Taehyung's room, trying to avoid any awkward situations.
It was midnight now. They had decorated the whole house already--most of the work was done by Taehyung-- and after having dinner, the omega headed straight to bed while Jungkook had gone to his room to shower first.
"Why aren't you asleep yet?" He asks the boy, getting onto the bed, scooting closer to Taehyung, leaving minimal space between them.
His questions go unanswered by the sleepy boy again. Taehyung shifted closer to him, humming again when he got a huge whiff of freshly washed clothes and forest wood.
In his hazy state, he didn't think twice before burying his face in the elder's chest. Jungkook's eyes widen, body stiffening in surprise. This is the first time Taehyung hugged him so tightly and suddenly.
He was used to having the younger hesitantly and softly wrap his hands around him, so the sudden strong hold surprised him.
His heart was drumming in his chest, loud and clear. He breathed out deeply, trying to calm himself.
"Too loud," Taehyung whined due to his thudding heart, pushing his face upwards, closer to Jungkook's neck. "I want to sleep."
Jungkook was completely frozen in his position as Taehyung pushed his nose on his neck, burying his face in his neck.
He nudged his nose on his skin, making him shudder slightly, scenting him unconsciously. Taehyung's breath was completely laboured as he took deep breaths in, humming in pleasure when Jungkook's scent clouded his senses.
"I like your smell," he admitted sleepily, finally falling limp and falling asleep, leaving Jungkook dangerously flustered.
His cheeks and ears were pink as he carefully wrapped his left arm around Taehyung, holding him close to himself, satisfying himself.
What the hell?
