Third person pov
"Where is he?"
"A-alpha, who are you talking abou--" Namjoon was cut off by the taller, buff and arrogant man.
"Taehyung. I had ordered the warriors to kill him. When I ask them whether they managed to kill him or not, they said you were the one who offered to end his life. Tell me, where is he?"
"Alpha Jungho--"
"That bitch came here, didn't he?" Jungho asked with a sinister smirk, an evil glint in his eyes as he thought about his son coming into his own house and trying to steal something which belonged to him.
Namjoon kept quiet, occasionally shuddering in fear as the aura of the male grew darker and darker. The room was getting suffocating, and the alpha wanted nothing more than to leave already.
Jungho chuckles, concluding from his warrior's silence that Jungkook had indeed come to his mansion and taken the omega away. Namjoon gulped as he stared at the old yet young-looking man.
I won't let anything happen to Taehyung.
Last time, I knew that he was going to do something to hurt my baby brother, but I still didn't do anything.
Now, if he says anything about trying to hurt him, I will go around and find Jimin or young master to tell them about it.
"Did he think he can come here, steal my slave and leave without me getting to know anything? I realized it when he stepped his foot into this mansion, but couldn't leave because of Yoon." He laughs, throwing his head back as he shook his head in disbelief, feeling betrayed by his son.
"He does feel a lot for that boy," he said smirking. "Seems like he can't even stay away from him. He even forgot his stupid first love for this slave, huh?"
Namjoon gulped, staring at the floor.
It seems like he's angry with young master and not Taehyung...
"Get out," Jungho said and Namjoon immediately moved out of the room and closed the door shut behind him. He didn't want to anger the head alpha by defying his order.
Just you wait, trueblood. Once I have prepared all the things for the new year, I'm going to make sure you hand all your powers to me.
I don't need that girl of yours now. I hate dealing with kids, and your child was as stubborn as you are. She even dared to hit me when I was hiding her in someplace the other day. Ugh, so fucking annoying.
Anyway, your second omega lover is enough now.
------------
The trueblood placed a few jasmine flowers on the bedside table quietly, making no noise as he didn't want to wake the younger up.
He held back a chuckle when he saw the younger who was curled into a ball with the blanket wrapped around him, looking like a tiny burrito.
He was letting out snores, and Jungkook concluded that his tiny snores were the cutest thing he had ever heard along with the soft heartbeat of his babygirl from before she was born.
He has been placing a flower on the bedside table for the past few weeks with the satisfaction that the omega always accepted the flowers and put them in the flower vase.
Well, in the beginning, Taehyung had rejected those flowers too, but he started accepting them now.
The trueblood smiled as he looked at the sleeping form of the boy with pure adoration and pecked Taehyung's forehead before turning around slowly and leaving.
He knew he wouldn't be able to stop himself from pecking all over his face if he stayed there any longer.
It had been weeks now, and Jungkook couldn't help but be slightly dejected because Taehyung still remained cold towards him. It wasn't as much as it was, but it was still enough to make him disheartened.
Surely, there were a few changes in the boy's attitude towards him, but Taehyung still didn't trust him enough.
Nevertheless, he continued to do what he had too-- placing flowers on the bedside table right in the morning, tending to all of the omega's needs and wishes, cooking food for him and tucking him to bed at night-- he made sure the boy was alright every second of the day.
He made various other attempts to show the omega his desperate need to earn forgiveness too. He did the stuff which usually mates love. He bought chocolates and other such sweets, expensive perfumes and pendants, and storybooks for him.
Taehyung always rejected each one of these gifts yet he continued to buy them for him.
Moreover, he kept checking on him from time to time, asking him whether he needed something or not. He kept forgetting all his other work of his because all that he thought about was Taehyung.
Every action of his was done with the hope of getting closer to the boy. His deeds were laced with pure love and selflessness.
He tried and tried to make Taehyung happy but himself always ended up disheartened because Taehyung hated all of whatever he did. He would either yell at him, throw all his gifts at him in annoyance or look at him with disgust.
It hurt him, beyond explanation, but he didn't stop because he knew that one day, Taehyung would start seeing the love behind whatever he did.
The situation was having a huge emotional toll on the trueblood who only found himself breaking more and more every day.
At first, he was fine with Taehyung's harsh behaviour, but as days passed and his feelings got stronger for the boy, the omega's hate-filled reactions became more painful to him.
He had started having feelings for Taehyung long ago. The fear which came with these feelings was the reason he pushed Taehyung out of his house.
Until now, he hadn't realized that his feelings were this strong and inscrutable.
Was it love? Was it just adoration? Was it the need to keep him close and protect him or was it something else?
He didn't know the answers to the questions, but he knew for a fact that it wasn't the mate bond that made him feel like this because there was a huge difference in what he had felt for Hyejin and is feeling for Taehyung.
For Hyejin, he didn't have to struggle even a bit to get her love. It was all given to him. His relationship with the girl had been pure and sweet with absolutely no argument or fight between them. They loved each other because they were mates.
But with Taehyung...
The trueblood had started feeling for the boy before even he had gotten to know that he was his mate. He liked the boy and also knew that Taehyung liked him back, it made him feel contented to just think about a future with Taehyung and their child, Hayoon.
There were so many reasons for him to like the boy-- his scent, his voice, his beauty, the way he spoke, the way he smiled with his eyes turning into crescents, the way he looked at him with heart eyes, the way he greeted him, or even the way he did all his work--
Just everything about Taehyung, he loved it all. He adored anything related to him.
What he had felt for Hyejin was simply just pure love.
When he thought about her in the past, he would be filled with warmth because she was his mate. That was that. He didn't feel anything for now.
He has the same but stronger emotions for the boy.
The same adoration and the same warmth when he thought about him, but in addition to these things, he felt many more indescribable emotions too.
His feelings for the boy was tangled and indecipherable. It had a hint of fear. Fear of being left alone again.
It seemed like the smallest mistake he did would make the imaginary strings which were keeping them together, holding the omega back from leaving, shatter apart which would result in the omega going away from him forever.
These feelings were the reasons for his breathless state when he made eye contact with Taehyung.
It made his mind grow hazy as he imagined his boxy smile. It made his heart thud against his chest when he heard the younger's voice.
They were so overpowering that he couldn't seem to take a break from it. It made him forget about everything and think only about him like it was only the omega who existed in the world.
He was all strong and cold all the time, but he had this really emotional side too.
He was cold-hearted and mean but only to those people who he doesn't know or like.
He was sweet and kind to those he cares for. He wanted Taehyung to see that he wasn't just an arrogant and rude trueblood alpha.
He blamed himself for the things his wolf did, telling himself that his wolf and he were the same people... But was that true? Not at all. Their thoughts and way of acting theirs were completely different.
Oberon had only known to be harsh and angry.
The wolf had taken it all upon himself to protect his vulnerable human form in their childhood when they were abused.
Several times, he had yelled at Jungkook and told him to stop crying, had told him to man up and stop being scared of Sangmi.
Jungkook on the other hand was the one who could do nothing but cry. In every situation, in every problem, all he did was cry.
He was powerful enough to wreck a person and beat them to a pulp, but he can't just get himself to do it unless the reason was huge and it was something that angered him terribly.
Then how could he hit a delicate-looking omega? How could he hurt someone who hadn't done anything to him at all?
In the past, Oberon had killed Jisung because he had murdered their mate.
Even at that time, when the wolf had gone insane and was destroying everything in sight, Jungkook had been crying, wailing at the loss of his mate's life.
He was really strong and powerful but had a vulnerable side too which no one ever understood. Just because he was a trueblood, no one ever took his pain and fear into consideration.
Why would they do that? He was supposed to be the strongest of all ranks, right?
He never cared about what someone else thought, but he strongly hoped that his omega wasn't one of them.
He hoped he wouldn't be sickened when he showed his sadness and pain to him.
He wanted Taehyung to accept his vulnerable side too. He wanted him to understand his pain.
The day he tells him about Hyejin and their story, he wanted Taehyung to understand him and not get even more disgusted.
To forgive him or not was up to Taehyung, but he wanted the younger to listen to him.
He knew it wasn't right to demand an apology after letting him know everything, but he doesn't know if it's wrong to wish for one.
Smiling sadly to himself, he put on an apron, tied his hair, and began cooking for the person he has fallen for.
-----------
Taehyung squinted his eyes, groaning at the bright light which hit his face. He blinked several times to get used to the light.
He pouted his lips and grabbed Jungkook's pillow before burying his face in it and inhaling deeply like his life depended on it. He knew that he was alone in the room, he definitely wouldn't do this in front of him.
His eyes travelled to the bedside table out of habit and fell on the fresh flowers which were kept on it.
When will you stop all this? I've kept trying to push you away and make you realize that I don't need you, but you still come back always.
I'm not going to stop being harsh to you. I don't want to forgive you neither do I want to listen to what you have to say. You may have a reason or a story to tell, but whatever the reason may be, you didn't have the right to do what you have done to me.
The things you're doing out of guilt now cannot make up for the pain you've caused to me in the past. I know you're trying to improve and get better, but I don't intend to forgive you.
You need to understand that I'm not something you can play with. I'm not just an object. You can't push me out of your life first and then expect me to be fine with coming back to you.
My heart and feelings are a mess. It nauseates me to agree to the fact that I still love you. You have someone already. I don't know where she is and why she isn't with you, but she's the one you want and love, not me.
Maybe she has decided to leave you and move on with her life. Maybe... She met her mate and thought that it wasn't right to be with you any longer, but you still love her, and I don't want to love someone who doesn't belong to me
So, I will continue to push you away. I will remain rude and harsh to you.
Just... I don't know if I can act like this for long when you're being so sweet and caring towards me.
It hurts me to hurt you now.
With every shaking and sad word you say, with every plead of yours, my heart shatters more and more. It pains me to hurt you, to see someone I love in this state.
I love you, but can't forgive you. I can't.
He gritted his teeth as he recollected the things which Oberon had done.
He was the same person who tormented him. He was the one who caused him immense pain in the past, to the point that he wanted to end his life. He was tormented to the point that he forgot his own worth.
Then why do you still love him? Why do stay back here when you could just leave? Why do you feel hurt when he looks at you with those sad eyes? He asks himself.
Because I know that even though they're the same person, it wasn't Jungkook who hurt me. It was Oberon, his wolf.
I don't feel any anger towards him. I know that even I would overreact if anything happened to my daughter.
So it's alright if I forgive Jungkook, right? Even though the same body, they're still different.
Or is it just because of my stupid love for him that I'm thinking about forgiving him?
He was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard the door open. His body stilled, face going blank as he didn't want the elder to see his troubled expressions and ask him a million worried questions.
"Baby, are you awake?"
His heart starts beating rapidly because of the nickname. He couldn't understand how a nickname could have such a great effect on him.
First, he kept calling me pup, then he started calling me peach, now it's baby.
He was surprised by the sweet nickname given to him by the elder, but he looked up at him with an unbothered demeanour.
Nonetheless, Jungkook smiled and unties his small bun with his right hand. The omega tried not to stare at his flexing muscles.
Get a fucking grip on yourself. Taehyung scolded himself, finding it hard to not let his mind and thoughts drift away.
He gritted his teeth, forcing himself to look at the elder's eyes and raised his eyebrows questioningly at him, asking him what he wants.
Jungkook sweetly grinned at him before saying,
"I made breakfast."
Taehyung bites his bottom lips. He didn't want to eat but Hayoon would scold him if he missed any meals so he nods, getting out of the bed and walking to the bathroom to freshen up first.
Right after his small form vanished into the bathroom, Jungkook got out of the room and went downstairs to get the plates ready.
He sat down on one of the chairs and waited for the younger to come before to begin eating.
Taehyung came back down with a towel wrapped around his head and plain casual clothes---shorts and shirt--- on.
They ate breakfast in complete silence which felt really awkward to the trueblood. Jungkook occasionally looked up to stare at Taehyung which the omega noticed but decided to ignore.
Taehyung was about to head to the library after eating but halted in his way---back facing the elder---when the trueblood began speaking.
"I got a daffodil plant today... would you like to plant it with me?"
Taehyung stood still for a while, wondering if he wanted to do it or not. Jungkook's stare was boring holes into the back of his head as he contemplated what to do.
After a while, he just decided to do it. He nodded his head softly, so softly that it could easily go unnoticed, but the elder who was awaiting his reaction saw it and broke out in loud cheers. Taehyung bit down on his lip to hold back a smile.
He acts like a complete child sometimes. Taehyung concluded, his heart warming when Jungkook thanked him excitedly.
They walked out together, Jungkook telling him about where and how he found the plant.
Taehyung still had his bored face and pretend to be disinterested though he was listening intently to every syllable that passed his lips. The honey voice of the elder soothed his nerves.
"There were bigger and more grown plants there, but I brought this because it looked pretty," He said, grinning down at Taehyung who wasn't looking at him. "Sit down. Let me go bring the other required thing."
As instructed, Taehyung sat down on the ground, playing with the grass which swayed in the wind. Jungkook jogged away to get whatever tools they required.
The omega felt weird to do all this because, after all, he hadn't ever had soft and sweet moments with Jungkook. He was slightly nervous too as he kept thinking that it might not turn out well.
Let's just see how this goes. Let me try being good to him and see how I feel when I'm around him now.
Jungkook plopped down beside him and handed him the plant which Taehyung accepted.
Taehyung used his hand to dig the ground even though they had the tools. A tiny smile rested on his face; he just loved the soil and the rough feeling of the grains and tiny rocks against his palm.
He had always wanted to feel these earthly elements in his childhood.
He had the freedom to hold and touch them, now and just that freedom made him feel extreme satisfaction.
He placed the small plant in the soil and started pushing the soil back to cover its roots.
His clothes and body were covered with dust and mud now but he didn't care about that. He poured water on the ground and smiled proudly when the soil soaked it up.
"You are so beautiful," He heard Jungkook whisper and he snaps his head towards him, finding doe eyes looking at him with such an intensity that he was left breathless.
Taehyung gulped, eyes softening for a mere second before they got hard again.
None of them dared to break their eye contact. Jungkook was absorbed in the beauty of the male while Taehyung was just too befuddled to say anything.
"W-what?" Taehyung asks, trying to sound angry by Jungkook's remark, but the stuttering only made him sound flustered rather than angry.
"You are beautiful," Jungkook says again, more firmly this time. His eyes were soft and he said whatever he did in the most genuine way.
Taehyung frowns before scoffing and turning away.
"Beautiful... Wasn't I beautiful earlier? Why didn't you ever notice me when I needed your attention? Oh... right. You were busy complimenting Hyejin that time."
Jungkook's heart shattered when Taehyung said that. It was true. He was all busied by Hyejin's thoughts that he didn't even think about Taehyung or pay any attention to him.
"It was a mistake. I was stuck in my past back then and only always thought about---"
"Go and drown in those thoughts again because I don't need your attention now. I don't need you, your compliments, or anything related to you," Taehyung spat and got up to leave, not missing the trueblood's next words,
"I can't see anything except you now, Tae. Even if I dream, I dream about you and if I think, it is always about you."
"Then pull your eyes out or just go kill yourself and end both our miseries."
He was being too harsh, he knew, but he just couldn't forget the past. It isn't easy to move on, especially when the past was engraved in his mind and heart.
He stomped to the entrance of the house. He heard a sniffle just before he banged the door shut behind him. The sound broke his heart, made him feel a pang of hurt in his chest.
I don't even know what I'm supposed to do now.
