Third person pov
Jungkook spent a few more minutes on the ground, near the pond. He was crying, more like wailing while looking at the sky.
He suddenly missed his mom and Hyejin way too much. He remembered the moments he spent with them; it made his heart shatter even more.
He didn't even know his mom's name. He barely knew anything about her. After all, she had died when he was a child. There wasn't anyone who would tell him how she was or how much she loved him. She didn't matter to anyone except him.
All his memories of her were faded and blurred. He only remembered that she had a beautiful and soothing voice which could put him to sleep immediately, and she looked like a pretty angel.
She was an angel now, had become one after her death, but he didn't like that. He hated how all the people who he loved and cared for went away from him always and left him alone.
First his mother, then Hyejin and now Taehyung, all of them left. He couldn't bring them back. It wasn't possible.
Hyejin lost her life because of him. Because he was irresponsible, because he couldn't take care of her. She gave him all the love in the world, but all he ever gave her in return was problems and sadness.
She would've been better off without him. She would be alive and having a beautiful life with someone else if she hadn't ever met him. Just because of him, she...
Now, the male omega who suddenly meant the whole world to him was also hurt because of him. It was already too late to understand how much the boy mattered as he had left too.
Mate...
He knew that having a second mate was one of the rarest things that can happen to anybody who lost their mate. He was one of the luckiest ones to be given another chance.
And what did he do? He hurt his mate. He hit him, yelled at him, and probably even made him feel like he's pathetic. He failed as a mate again.
He was just so useless for letting all of that happen. Just if he had acknowledged the boy and understood the bond he had with him, Taehyung would've been happier.
Now, he will take his responsibilities. Even though late, he knew he still had to take care of Taehyung.
He didn't know how, but he had to make the younger happy again. He had to do whatever he could to do it to bring the smile back to his face.
He will do everything he could. He has hurt him unknowingly, he has to make it right now, and if Taehyung wanted rejection even after everything, he will reject him to make him happy.
He doubted that Taehyung will ever get back to him. He wanted him, liked him, but everything was just too complicated.
He sat on the grass near the pond for a while more, tears still flowing down his red cheeks. He was feeling heavy and pained as he sobbed.
All of a sudden, he felt the extremely strong urge to go back home.
He sniffled, wiping his cheeks and frowning when he felt the uneasy feeling settling in him, growing with every passing second. His wolf stirred in him, growling softly and threateningly but not telling him what is wrong.
He focused on his senses for trying to understand what was happening. He closed his eyes shut and clenched his jaw. The feeling just worsened more and more.
He gasps when he finally realised what was making him feel like this.
Hayoon.
He stood up in a flash and frantically made him way towards the north end of the forest, where his home was.
He ran, regretting not bringing his car. He didn't want to shift because he didn't trust his wolf. Last time he had shifted, about one and a half year ago, Oberon had attacked Hoseok.
If it wasn't for Yoongi who stuck a tranquilizer up his wolf's body, Hoseok would be dead.
He jumped across a broken branch which lay on the wet ground and didn't stop for even a second. His raging heart sank in fear.
My baby, is she alright? He asks himself and ran faster, mind going hazy. He couldn't think properly, fear was taking over his body.
She will be okay, Yoongi hyung is with her.
She will be okay.
He tried to convince himself though he already knew she wasn't okay. His trueblood senses couldn't ever be wrong.
His clenched hands were shivering in nervousness as he sprinted, getting closer to his house. He hastily opened the gate of his house and reached his hand out to hold the doorknob.
He hurriedly opened the door, desperate to see the happy, excited or laughing pup.
He scanned his wide eyes around the room, chest heaving up and down as he greedily took deep breaths.
There was no one. No one in sight.
"Hayoon? Yoongi hyung?" He said in a shaky tone when he found no one around. He took a few steps forward, moving futher into the house.
He looked around and his eyes finally landed on the the unconscious form of his brother-in-law which lay on the ground, blood oozing out of his head and staining the white tiles and carpet.
"Hyung?!" he shrieked. The ravenette immediately advanced towards the pale-faced male and kneeled on the floor.
He brought Yoongi's upper body to his lap and scanned his face with utter worry and concern.
It definitely looked like he was beaten on the head with a hard object. The wooden rod fallen on the male's side had a small bloodied mark on it-- he was sure someone had hit him with it.
"Yoongi hyung? Hyung, wake up."
He tapped his cheek to wake him up, his voice breaking in fear. He was glad that he could hear his heartbeat.
His chest tightened. Dread filled his heart.
Who did this? W-where is my baby?
He flinched when he heard a slight chuckle from behind him. He whipped his head around, hand fisting his own shirt immediately and a unconscious gasp leaving his lips when he saw him. He was completely shaken in fear.
"Jungho," he whispered, standing up, his legs wobbling as he held a table to support his weight. He looked at his father with wide eyes which were filled with tears of terror.
"Son," he said and laughed evilly when he saw his son's desperate face. He clapped his hands, still laughing spitefully.
He just loved seeing fear in the eyes of people. It was the first time he was seeing Jungkook this scared. It made him feel even more powerful.
When his laughter finally died down, his face turned into a disgusted one as he scoffed at Jungkook who still looked at him with desperateness.
Jungho found about her... What will happen now? What will he do to his daughter?
"Look at the fear in your face. Are you afraid that I'll hurt that weak omega daughter of yours?" he asks, revulsion in his tone.
Jungkook gritted his teeth in anger, eyes hardening. He didn't want to show his fear to Jungho but it was tough. He was truly afraid that he will hurt his flower, his Hayoon.
"Where is she?"
Jungho scoffs. He turns around and makes his way to a couch. He plopped down on the couch and crossed his arms before his chest. Smirking, Jungho says,
"I won't give her to you unless you tell me where the slave is."
Jungkook's heart sank.
"W-wha--"
"That fucking slave that I gifted you. Tell me where he is, I want him back."
Jungkook hid his shaking hands behind his back. He was dismayed by what is happening.
He could feel his wolf's anger but he forcefully held back the urge to shift or let him take over. That was not right thing to do, he couldn't win against a demon wolf in his distressed state.
He looked at the entrance of the house and saw many warriors standing there.
How was he supposed to fight against everyone at the same time? He could win against the alpha warriors, not Jungho.
He was so distressed and anxious. He wanted his daughter back, but he didn't want to lose his mate.
"Please..." He sniffled, the world weighing down on him. He was tearing apart-he had no other option but to beg.
"Please give me my daughter back," He pleaded, looking at his father with teary eyes. He hoped that the elder will show him some mercy; he was his son after all.
But when a sinister smirk spread across his face, he was sure that there was no escape from this situation.
And if Jungkook was forced to choose between his daughter and mate- his choice would be quite predictable.
"You see-- I could find that slave myself, but it would be much easier if you tell me where he is. It's been so many days since I relieved my stress," Jungho says and chuckles, grinning.
Jungkook's blood boiled when he heard those words. Oh, how he wished he could get the world rid of this disgusting, inhuman asshole, but he couldn't do anything.
"Look, I had told all slaves to be in their limits. That dumb omega has tried to run away from the place he is supposed to be, where I sent him-he deserves to be given a punishment. I don't even need him because he is a male omega, I just want to relive my stress and then I'll end his sufferings by killing him--"
He continues to blabber on about what he wants to do and why he wants it, but Jungkook wasn't listening to him now. He was deep in thought, wondering about the risks to his daughter's and mate's life.
'Daddy?' he gasps inaudibly when he heard his daughter's voice in his head. His body visibly stiffened. It was the first time she had mindlinked him; he hadn't even taught her how to mindlink yet.
He knew she was able to do it because of fear. Having no way out, she probably forced herself to do something to get in contact with him which led her to mindlinking him.
Her broken voice and her fear made him shudder in anxiousness. He wanted to hold her in his arms, right now.
'Daddy?' she whispered again, this time unsurely.
'Baby? Where are you?' he tries to sound calm so he doesn't make her more anxious. His heart sank when he heard her whimper and then begin to cry.
'I don't know, daddy! I-I don't like it... it is so dark here. I-I am so scared! I want to come back to you! I-I want mommy!' she cried.
And her scared words were enough for the trueblood to make his decision.
He was remembered of the fact that he was living for Hayoon.
And the child was only a four-year-old who couldn't even speak properly yet. How could she handle this? How could she be put in danger?
Taehyung can someone manage it better than Hayoon. Jimin was there for him too.
His Hayoon was all alone. She was scared and afraid and that was making him feel so miserable.
In this situation, even a person who was madly in love with their mate would choose to save their child's life.
It was a great thing that he even thought for so long to save Hayoon's life.
"He is at Jimin's."
Jungkook was sure to do something about saving Taehyung, but all of that only after his daughter was in his arms, safe.
Jungho's eyes first lighten because he had gotten the answer for his question but soon a frown took over his features.
"Jimin," he growled. He turned around, fuming in anger as he stomped his way to the entrance and ordered one of the warriors to hand Jungkook back his daughter.
He was not done with that girl yet. He knew that she can be used to threaten the trueblood into doing things he wanted, but for now, he just gave her back.
He left, fuming in anger because of being betrayed by his nephew. All other warriors left too, one of them going in another direction to bring his daughter.
Jungkook waited impatiently, staring at the entrance of the house, waiting for the warrior to bring back his daughter. Soon, he saw her peeking into the house with fearful eyes, the warrior leaving her there and going away.
Hayoon let out a sharp cry as soon as she saw her father. Her body was shaking as she ran to him and practically threw herself on Jungkook. He was crying too, afraid for his daughter's life.
He cradled her to his chest and scented her possessively. She cried and cried, body shaking like the single leaf of a tree on a windy day.
"Shh, my baby, I-I'll never let anything happen to you," He said and tried to calm her down. He didn't know if he could do as he promised though. He was just so useless-- how can he promise to not let anything happen to her when he himself wasn't sure whether he can keep her safe or not?
She continued to sniffle and cry. All he could do then was rub her back and hum slightly. She fell asleep in his arms, still softly shaking and calling for her mom in her sleep. He took her to her room and lay her on the bed.
His body was still shuddering as he stumbled his way back to the living room. He picked Yoongi up and brought him to a guest room, knowing that Hoseok will be here soon since he would feel that his mate is hurt physically.
He sat down on the floor, sniffling then beginning to cry again.
Whatever happened today had brought back horrible memories. Those ones being from the time he was broken and sad.
Her daughter's life was in danger back then too, but that time it wasn't Jungho who was causing the reason, it was himself.
He remembered that terrible day when he had picked up a chair and thrown it at his one-year- old sleeping daughter- just because she looked like her mother.
What person in his normal state of mind would try to hurt the person who means the whole world to him?
He had become a lunatic, was losing his mind. Every time, it was either Hoseok or Yoongi to bring him back to sanity. Even that time, Hoseok had come in front of her and taken the hit of the chair.
He had broken apart completely when he came back to his senses. He had cried, screamed and yelled, then had locked himself up in his room, refusing to go anywhere near his daughter. He didn't want to hurt her.
He was terrified of himself. He even screamed at his hyungs to go away and not show him their face. He was scared he would hurt them too.
What if... What if he had ended up hurting his daughter then? What would he do?
That time, he thought that he had only one thing he could do to save his daughter from himself.
He was going to do the same thing now to save her from his father.
"S-Sana..."
"Hey, what's wrong, Kook?" She asks, nervously because of how anxious she sounded.
"Save her-save my daughter, Sana. Take your niece away from here," he muttered in a shaky voice.
When his call was done, in his scared and terrified state, he tried to mind link Jimin.
He tried and tried but no message could go through because of his miserable state.
He continued to try until he heard Hayoon's whimper which made him forget everything and focus on her and only her.
At the moment, he couldn't think of anyone or anything else.
