Third person pov
This isn't right. You need to stop.
You can't break your promise.
He took a deep breath in, mind anything but calm.
He couldn't remove the memory of Taehyung's swollen, red eyes that he saw in the morning. He knew the younger had been crying whole night.
It was so painful for him to just see him like that. It hurt so bad.
He was driving back home, this time not with excitement of seeing a happy Taehyung with his cute little, daughter as soon as he reaches but the possible blank face which Taehyung would have, blaming himself for the things that happened past night.
He had started smiling more all because of Yoonie and I... I snatched his pretty smile from him again. I made him cry.
He hit the steering wheel with his hand in irritation on himself. He wished to hit himself.
I can't see him hurt. I can't ignore him when he is near me. What am I supposed to do? Even though I know it's wrong, I can't help it.
Can't help that I'm starting to feel stuff for him. This is so so wrong. I cannot be disloyal. No, I will do anything but not break my promise I made to her.
He parked the car in the private parking lot of his mansion and got out, feeling ever so scared.
Shit man, what have I gotten myself into?
He sighed deeply and walked to the door, opening it and entering. He had expected a silent and tense atmosphere but had definitely not expected to find a empty living room.
This time, Taehyung hadn't come to greet him and take his sword away too. He grew confused.
His ears perked up when he heard small sounds from upstairs. He followed the sounds and reached Hayoon's room.
He opened the door ajar and peeked in, raising an eyebrow when he sees Hayoon all dressed up like a princess and Taehyung on the floor kneeling beside her.
"Princess you can't leave!" Taehyung pleaded and held her tiny hand, tightly.
"No, pwease let me go. I'll have to gwo!" Hayoon said back, acting like a professional actress. She seemed really frantic, looking like she was going to cry but it was all a part of the acting.
"Please! The people of the kingdom need you, you can't leave!" Taehyung fake sniffles, and Jungkook could swear that he could see tears flowing down his cheeks. It seemed so real, he could tell that the younger was a brilliant actor.
"But I have to go to my pwince!"
"Please, princess." Taehyung bit his lip.
Hayoon starts giggling and threw herself on Taehyung who laughed heartily and hugged her back.
Jungkook's heart skipped a beat when he head the glorious laugh.
"I did well, right?" He says softly.
"Yes! You did a great job! Mommy, you've learnt well from your teacher!" She stated proudly and grinned up at him.
Taehyung would never get enough of listening to her call him her mother. It felt so right and good.
His heart melted at the thought of being her mother. To be the one she can trust and love. The one who will be there for her, forever.
Jungkook bit his lips to suppress a smile. The sight was just so heartwarming that he couldn't help but feel his heart swell.
He forgot about those dumb words he was telling himself a while ago... about hurting Taehyung so he doesn't smile or do anything which would increase his problems.
Guilt suddenly rose in him as he remembered the the way Taehyung had cried yesterday.
He knew how hard it is to take care of children. It was practically impossible to keep an eye on them all the time.
Hayoon had gotten hurt so many times when he was supposed to take care of her... then how could he yell of the boy?
Taehyung wasn't even getting anything in return for whatever work he does.
That is what he thought. He didn't know that Taehyung didn't need money but love. The love Hayoon was giving him was enough but he needed Jungkook's love too.
He didn't know that. He didn't know what Taehyung felt.
He coughed slightly to get their attention.
They snapped their heads towards him and he soon had his baby's hands wrapped around his legs, while she squealed out happily.
He crouched down and picked his girl into his arms and cradled her to his chest.
"Had a nice day, baby? Does your forehead hurt?" He asks, softly.
"Today was such a nice day, daddy! Mommy has learnt how to act professionally like I do and...no, my forehead doesn't hurt," she said and grinned.
He smiled adoringly at her but it didn't reach his eyes.
"S-sorry... young master. I wasn't there to g-greet you today," Taehyung stuttered while keeping his head low.
How useless am I? All work I have is to take care of the house and the child and greet him when he comes back. Yet, I fail to do these work.
And I couldn't even take care of a child.
Jungkook felt so bad that the younger wasn't smiling. He didn't care if Taehyung didn't greet him or whatever; he just wanted the younger to smile.
"Daddy... Say something," Hayoon whispers, looking at him pointedly with her eyebrows raised.
Jungkook nods at his smart girl.
"Tae, you're one of the best and kind-hearted person I've met. You're one of the few people can trust Hayoon, my reason to live, with. You truly are the...best," Jungkook blushed after saying these words.
This was the first time he was praising Taehyung even though the omega had a sweet and everlastingly beautiful image in his heart.
It felt good to say the younger how good he is.
And Taehyung lost his heart after hearing his praise.
He felt so fucking good when Jungkook told him that he was the best.
God, he had been dying to hear him say stuff like this.
He was purely ecstatic.
But as much as he loved this sweet praise which will remain in his heart forever, he will also remember the way his wolf treated him and hit him.
-----
He watched the boy skipping while coming forward from behind the trees and he immediately got to his feet.
He sighed deeply, glad that Taehyung was alright. He walked forward and pulled the male into his embrace.
"Where were you? I was waiting for so long," he said and nuzzled his face onto his neck, nosing on his scent gland.
Taehyung let out giggles which made him feel oh, so contented.
"I went for bringing these berries. Let's go make cakes?" Taehyung asks shyly and Jungkook wouldn't ever want to do something which would snatch his smile of his face.
"Let's go... But before that, I want you to give me something."
Taehyung raised his eyebrows at him, looking like a cute little puppy.
Jungkook smiles before leaning forward, stopping only when his face was centimeters away from the omega's.
A sweet blush spread Taehyung's face as he anticipated his next moves. He puckers his lip slightly, holding his breath in.
Jungkook smirked when Taehyung's heart beat got faster. He caressed the younger's cheekbone, now desperate to feel his lips on his own.
He leaned forward even more, noticing how Taehyung fluttered his eyes close. He waited no more as he-
"Daddy?! Daddy wake up!" Hayoon shook his body and tapped on his face to wake him up.
Jungkook groaned and tried to pry her hands away to get back to sleep but Hayoon just continues to do it.
"Baby," He half whines and holds her hand. "I promise you there aren't any monkeys outside the window like you saw in your nightmare. Now go to sleep, darling."
"No daddy! It isn't that!"
Jungkook groans and gets up, picking her into his arms. He frowns when he notices the sweat on her forehead and the fast heartbeat.
"Baby, what's wrong?" He finally asks, realizing that something is actually wrong.
"Mommy...mommy," is everything that she could say before she hugged him and started sobbing.
Her sensitive heart couldn't see her mother in pain, and she was just coming here after hearing him screaming in pain.
Anxiousness flooded Jungkook's system and his legs immediately carried him outside the room to Taehyung's in a quick pace.
He held the shaking, crying girl in his arm, cradled to his chest as he walked to the room.
With the way Hayoon was sobbing into his shoulders, it was clear that something had happened to Taehyung.
"Shh pup, it'll be alright." he didn't know if it will; he just needed his baby to stop crying because it was hurting him even more.
Hayoon rarely cries. She was an omega, but a strong one. Yes, she didn't know how to use swords and all that but still, she was emotionally strong, always.
Just like the person who gave birth to her. She stood strong always, never showing sadness or fear.
Jungkook placed Hayoon down outside the room the screams were coming from and held onto the doorknob with shaking hands.
He opened it and was immediately welcomed with a scream of pure pain which was followed by sobs. His heart clenched in affliction.
His body was shivering in fear and he looked at the male who was writhing on the floor while holding his lower abdomen.
Heat. Taehyung was on heat. His first one.
Jungkook would be lying if he said that it didn't feel hurt by by his pained state. The boy didn't even have a bed, and that was his fault too. He hadn't even provided him with a bed.
Only now did he realize that Taehyung was staying in the wrong room all along. This wasn't the room he had given the the boy, and he had never once tried to see how the boy was and where he was, what he was doing so he didn't know anything until now.
He was so insensitive. He wanted to growl in anger at himself for being so inconsiderate.
He went forward and Taehyung immediately looked at him with hurt and scared eyes.
"I-it hurts!" He sobs and let's out whimpers and sniffles. His face was bright red and scrunched in pain, he looked so uncomfortable on the ground.
Jungkook doesn't say anything. He put on a blank facade, trying not to let Taehyung's inviting scent affect him.
He picked up the younger, holding back a growl because the arousal of the younger hit him hard, clouding his senses.
He could feel wetness of his slick in the arm which was wrapped around Taehyung's thigh and it was getting difficult for him to hold back the urge to fuck into him and hear his beautiful moans.
Taehyung whimpered and clung onto him for dear life.
Jungkook started walking away from the room, and Taehyung couldn't think about anything but the pain he was feeling.
He hated it.
He hated it that his wolf was begging for Jungkook. He didn't want to do anything to the person who didn't love him.
He held back every urge to tell, no, beg the elder to help him, to use him in every way than knot and release in him. He couldn't take the pain anymore.
A moment later, he was being placed softly on a soft bed. He couldn't open his eyes, it was shut closed in pain.
His nails grabbed onto the elder's shoulder, hoping that he doesn't leave.
"Tae..." Jungkook whispers softly. He held Taehyung's face in his hands, cupping his cheeks and placing his forehead against Taehyung's.
His body was hovering over the younger's, his hand wrapped around his small waist. He stared deeply at his pained features with pitiful eyes.
Taehyung whimpered and held him tighter, feeling so much safer and better just by his presence.
Jungkook knew he couldn't stay here for longer. He couldn't because it would be extremely difficult for him to not pound into the younger with his scent so much stronger and inviting.
Taehyung rolled his hip and moaned loudly, shamelessly, when he felt friction in his lower part.
Jungkook growled and held his hips to stop him from doing things like that.
He was trying not to lose control over his mind.
He didn't want to leave. He wanted to help the younger and get him rid of his pain and it would be a lie if he'd say that he didn't have wet dreams of the younger.
But could he do what he wanted? Was he allowed to? No.
He forcefully tried to break away from the younger who held him tighter. Taehyung opened his eyes and looked at him with fear. He didn't want him to leave.
Jungkook looked back at him with guilt before grabbing his wrists and getting it off of his shoulder.
He shakes his thoughts away as he sees Taehyung's eyes flicker to emotionlessness.
He knew it was only because of his heat that Taehyung wanted him close to himself.
Taehyung doesn't want this, he knew. That just added on to the reasons he should get up and leave.
He growled lowly when Taehyung's scent got stronger and more arousing but flinched when he let out a scream.
"I..." Jungkook couldn't form any words.
He wanted to apologize and tel Taehyung that he was a person who was bound by a promise, a one who can't dare to break it. He couldn't help him however much he himself wanted to.
This just wasn't something both would want.
If this happened, then Taehyung would be bound down to him forever. And after the past, he knew it wasn't easy for Taehyung to even see his face and live under the same rule.
Starting off a relationship that none of desire is not right at all.
And Jungkook wasn't ready to move on even though his heart had already started making more space for this omega so special.
Taehyung wasn't ready to forget about the abuse to move on too.
He closes his eyes which suddenly were filled with tears and pulled away from the younger.
He heard the boy whimper and sniffle in pain before he went out.
He didn't go anywhere. Just sat there, on he floor, before the door.
He couldn't do anything else other than listening to the pained whimpers and screams of the boy who was also crying, heartbroken after being rejected by his mate for so many times.
He didn't know that he had refused to do a thing which the most important responsibility of a mate: to help their fated one through heats and ruts.
Jungkook didn't even know that Taehyung was his mate. His wolf knew. He didn't. His wolf never told him, but still, he felt the connection with the omega.
He felt it from the very beginning he had felt it but just that his feelings were completely suppressed by himself at first, and now, he couldn't hold it back.
He feels for the younger. He admitted it but this was what he was scared of. Of falling for someone else.
He was sure that this would never happen then why... why did this had to happen?
He stayed outside the door, listening to the screams and whimpers, feeling like a coward who couldn't do anything to lessen the pain of the omega.
He was shedding silent tears all the while.
He only stood up when the screams stopped. He peeked in and found that the boy had passed out in pain. His heart felt completely numb now.
He walked back to Taehyung's room to search for his daughter and found her on the floor, sniffing Taehyung's shirt while sniffling ever so often.
He picked her up and went back to his room, taking Taehyung's shirt along because he knew his daughter wanted the scent of her mom to feel comforted.
He needed it too.
He put her to sleep but couldn't fall asleep himself because his mind was occupied with the thoughts of a certain blond who he had just seen screaming and crying in pain.
Those sounds will sure continue to tear him apart in the future and show him how much of a pathetic person he was to not help Taehyung when he needed him.
He felt guilty even though he didn't know that he was Taehyung's mate.
If he gets to know that he is his mate...
He was sure going to suffer more than ever.
