Taehyung's life had changed for the better because of the little gem who had come into his life.
His focus had shifted from getting love from his mate to taking care of Hayoon.
He loved the girl even if their relationship didn't have a name. He was her Twaetwae while she was his little angel.
He felt genuinely happy. Her presence filled his life with content and satisfaction.
Now whenever he cried at midnights after waking up from a nightmare, which mostly was something about his mom, he'd have a tiny human wrapping her hands around him to console him without words.
She would come always, and he didn't know how she got to know that he's crying or is sad.
It was like there was something between them: a bond or a connection because of which he would always know whether she's in pain and she would know if he's sad.
He loved her so damn much, more than anyone else in this world.
In the past months, he smiled more, had a permanent grin on his face whenever Hayoon was nearby, and, well, he just remained happy always.
He was glad that Oberon never appeared in the past months. He knew the reason was because the wolf didn't want his pup to see that side of his: the lethal side.
Even though there were a changes in his life, more changes were in Jungkook's life.
More like, with his feelings towards a certain blond whose presence he hadn't even acknowledged before Hayoon came back home.
He had started his sweet actions with taking clandestine care of Taehyung, stating that it was his 'responsibility' to do so as Yoongi had told him, but he didn't know when it turned into actual concern and worry.
He had given Hayoon a mission to make sure that Taehyung eats all three meals of a day and he wasn't disappointed by his determined babygirl who made sure to do as told to her.
With Taehyung eating more nowadays, he seemed less weak and skinnier.
And he felt proud that it changed. Felt happy that Taehyung was more healthy and glowing than ever before.
The fact was, that whenever he did something out of genuine worry.
He never let Taehyung know about it. When the younger had gotten a very high fever, Jungkook had stayed in his room the whole night, taking care of him after he had gotten unconscious.
Jungkook had left only in the morning before the younger woke up.
Taehyung hadn't known about his efforts and continues to believe that Jungkook didn't care, but it wasn't like that. Jungkook preferred it that way.
He didn't want the younger to think that he mattered to him.
But the truth was that Taehyung did matter to him.
From the very beginning since he brought him to the house, there was just something holding him back from being what he usually does--his hard, rough behaviour--but his wolf didn't seem very affected from the boy's presence.
Even before he met Taehyung, he behaved like this.
Was there a cure? A remedy? No.
But Hayoon mattered to Oberon and that was probably one of the reasons the wolf was holding back from hurting Taehyung.
If there were any other reasons, Jungkook didn't know.
But he did know about himself and he knew well what he was feeling.
Whenever Jungkook went to the shop to buy something for himself or Hayoon, he would find himself pondering whether he should buy something for Taehyung.
When he comes back home, he expects to see the happy smiling face of the blond and the sweet greeting given to him in the deep voice. He loved it that way.
He would go berserk if the house didn't smell like lavenders and cherry when he came back home.
He loved listening to the giggles and laughs of the younger, loved it more than he should.
It felt like the sweetest music in the world which he could listen to all night and day without getting tired of it.
The boxy smile... he couldn't get enough of it. So so beautiful, pretty and innocent with his eyes turning into crescents.
The younger looked so ethereal that sometimes it would get tough for him to stop staring at him. It was difficult, alright? Why would you want to look away when the sight is so beautiful?
He was unclear about his own feelings. He didn't understand it and neither did he make an effort to do so.
But the more these feelings grew, more did he feel guilty. Yes, guilty. It wasn't supposed to be this way. He wasn't willing to feel like this for anyone.
But he couldn't help it. His feelings and urges weren't under his control.
He came back home and smiled unconsciously when his babygirl squealed while running to him with her tiny legs.
"My baby..." He said and crouched down, letting Hayoon throw herself on him and hug him.
"Daddy, I was waiting for you!" She said happily.
"Why is that, puppy?" He asks, looking around and searching for a certain blond head.
He inhaled deeply to let the scent of lavenders and cherry sink into him, and he was gratified.
Hayoon doesn't say anything and just urges him to follow her.
They walked to the living room and she pointed towards the couch, placing her hands on her mouth to muffle her squeals and laughs.
Jungkook's eyes widen and he gasps when he sees Taehyung sleeping on the couch, sketch pen marks all over his face.
He frowned and crouched down, facing Hayoon.
"You shouldn't do that, baby. Why did you draw on Taetae's face?" His voice was anything but harsh as he held her softly and caressed her neck.
Hayoon pouted, realizing that she had done something wrong which was why her dad looked upset. She mumbled a guilty 'sorry'.
He quickly pecked her forehead to let her know that he wasn't mad and smiled at her.
He walked closer to the couch and sat down beside the couch where Taehyung's head lay.
He looked closely at the face which still looked beautiful even though there were dirty red, blue and brown messy lines drawn on his face.
He brings out a tissue from the tissue box which lay above the table and starts cleaning the marks. The task was really tough as the tissue wasn't wet.
He patted on his face in the softest way, not wanting to wake him up.
But unfortunately, Taehyung stirred in sleep and woke up.
When their eyes locked, they stared at each other with wide, surprised eyes, heartbeats increasing because there was barely any space between their faces.
Jungkook inaudibly gasped after a moment and pushed himself away, the tip of his ears and the neck turning slightly red.
"I-i was just... um... your face," Jungkook stuttered. He cursed at himself internally, embarrassed.
Taehyung was still blushing madly as he nodded, understanding that there was something on his face and quickly got up to go upstairs to his room's washroom, Hayoon following him with head bowed in shame and guilt.
He came into the washroom and switched on the lights. He gasped as soon as he saw the mirror.
He slightly tilted his head to see the marks trailing down his jaw and neck.
"Sowwy." He immediately looked at the baby who stood near the door, close to breaking into tears while she looked at him with nervousness. She didn't want to be scolded by him.
He smiled adoringly at her, internally cooing,
Looking back at the mirror, he turned his expression into an impressed and amused one and says,
"Look at how artistic my Yoonie is, she draws so beautifully!" Hayoon looked up with a surprised expression and grinned at him, getting happy just by his comment.
"Really?" She asks shyly.
"Yes!"
Hayoon squealed and ran up to him. Taehyung immediately picked her up, spinning around at a quick pace with her in his arms, grinning when he heard her laugh.
"My baby," he said and pecked her cheeks.
His eyes suddenly landed on pitch-black intimidating ones, and he felt the air knock out of his lungs when he saw the intensity of the stare.
Jungkook was standing there, unnoticed from the beginning.
He saw the sweet interaction between them with adoration in his eyes which suddenly turned firm when he saw the familiar boxy smile.
He loved it so much; he knew his heart couldn't take it if he kept smiling like that.
He coughed awkwardly when he was got caught while staring at Taehyung and looked away quickly.
Calm down. He told his fast beating heart.
