Third person pov
Jeon Jungho watched his fated mate die right in front of him. She was writhing on the bed, begging him to let her hug him for one last time before she dies, but he refused to go anywhere near her.
He had spat rude words at her, telling her that she was utterly useless as an alpha for dying at such an early age of thirty because of a disease.
Useless and weak were the words he called his mate who was taking her last breaths.
He was fuming because he knew that he will die too. After all, the heartbreak his wolf will experience after his mate's death will kill him.
He never loved the woman but his wolf did. He wasn't a true blood alpha to survive the heartbreak. Only a true blood could survive it, and he was just a normal alpha.
He was holding his son in his arms, as the dying woman begged him to at least let her hold her two-year-old one last time, but Jungho cruelly refused to let that happen.
He didn't want to give the woman a single reason to be happy, even if she was gonna die in a few minutes.
"P-please! Let--" she coughed, her chest tightening. She let out a small scream before continuing, "Let m-me hold him for one l-last time."
Jungho rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"Just die already," he says, unbothered. His wolf was howling in pain and sadness. Jungho was so close to hitting himself just so he could hurt his dumb, useless wolf.
The woman had done everything she could do to gain his love, to earn his trust and attention, but nothing worked. He had sure marked her under the influence of his wolf but felt no emotions except anger and hate towards her.
After seven whole years of their relationship, a day came, when Jungho was completely drunk out of his mind and had made love to her.
Made love...was what it was to her, but the next day her heart completely shattered when Jungho scowled at her and told her that it was only a mistake, that it meant nothing to him.
But the mistake gave her something that she always wanted a pup.
Being an alpha, it was really tough for her to give birth, especially when her mate wasn't by her side to help her through the tough times, but she successfully did it. She managed to give birth to her beautiful true blood baby.
She felt that it was a blessing to be living because of her son. She spent every moment of her day showering her true blood son with loving kisses and made sure to teach him everything that a person is supposed to know.
Most importantly, he taught him how to treat a person with love.
Love was something she hadn't ever got, but she knew that her son will be much better than his father. She knew that she will raise him to be that type of person who would love his mate wholeheartedly.
After so many years, her life was getting better and better, but unfortunately, she suddenly fell ill and got diagnosed with a disease that couldn't be cured.
It was only a few days before her body stopped functioning properly, and she couldn't even move around freely.
She was dying now.
In these last moments, she wanted to hold her son and give him the last few moments of motherly love.
She was twisting and turning in pain on the bed, sobbing in pain which spread her whole body.
The two-year-old baby in Jungho's arms squirmed in his hold. He was staring at his mother with fearful eyes, scared, knowing that she was in pain.
Jungho scoffed at him. He hated the fact that his son was a strong true blood while he was just an ordinary alpha.
Being the selfish man he is, he was jealous of his own son and hated him too.
"Please!" She begged, sobbing. She tried to calm herself down when she sees her son flinch because of her yells, tears now flowing down his chubby cheeks.
"M-my baby..." She says, taking a lot of effort to smile when her son extended both his tiny arms towards her, wanting to go to his suffering mom. His lips were puckered out, eyes glossy.
"Mommy," he sobbed out the only word he knows to speak yet. He squirmed in Jungho's hands, and when his good for no use father didn't let him go, he bit him on his neck.
Jungho growled in pain, throwing the boy to the floor and held his now aching neck.
His eyes turn orange as he looked at the boy who was completely unbothered by his growl and was stumbling his way to his mother.
The woman immediately wrapped her arms around his strong but delicate baby body and cupped his face with one cheek.
"M-my son... always remember what m-mommy has taught you... n-never g-give up on the love that your heart possesses... a-and love your mate," She says, struggling to even speak.
Jungho finds himself rolling his eyes at that. It looked like she was telling her son not to be like his dad, but it's not like he cared.
He never cared for stuff like this because all he ever wanted in his life was power.
The baby sobbed, finally understanding that he was losing his mom. He didn't know what death was--being only a mere baby--yet he understood that his mom was telling him goodbye, her last one.
"I--" she coughed out blood, feeling her chest tightening even more. She groaned and completed her sentence, "...love you."
Her whole body fell limp on the bed, her gasping for breath stopped.
Her chest stopped heaving up and down, as she stopped breathing, finally getting rid of all her pain.
The only thing that could be heard now was the loud agonizing cries and sobs of the child who kept shaking his mom's body and yelling at her, in baby language, to wake up and hug him. He was terrified.
And just like that, the two-year-old true blood, Jeon Jungkook, lost his mom at a young age when he didn't even understand what death meant.
Jungho sighed, he had had enough of her shrill screams and begs. He walked out of the room, leaving his distressed son in there.
He went straight to his office and ordered for all his warriors to come into the office room at once.
After they all finally showed up, he huffed deeply, and said,
"Get me someone who can tell me a way to survive the heartbreak my stupid wolf is feeling. I need someone who can treat so get to work at once."
