Chapter 35
Zara's POV
"What are you doing here?"
I turn behind to discover him standing there with a perplexed expression on his face. I let out a whiff of mitigation discerning him closer to me. A tentative smile emerges on my lips. It's like I was holding a thick breath since forever and by his presence, I have exhaled out a pent-up breath. It's sense like I have become elated by his presence.
"You shouldn't have come alone here." He walks towards me and stands in front of me.
"I didn't come alone. My friend accompanies me here but that stupid flee away leaving me behind, " I reply.
Recalling what has happened earlier, the irritation flare through me, and the fury spring again through my veins.
"But there is a problem, " I say as I start fidgeting with my fingers.
He raises his eyebrow in question.
I think for a while to assemble the right words to tell him about the car. It's such an embarrassment that I always end up doing something to his cars.
"The car is still in my University and the driver isn't picking up the call, " I say with a nervous smile.
"Because of that idiot, silly and airhead." I grit my teeth as I keep on muttering. I swear if he comes in front of me right now, I will murder him.
"What are you mumbling?"
I come out of my thoughts when he calls me out. I look up at him who has an amused smile playing on his lips. What is he doing here? An inkling comes into my mind with that I peek behind his shoulder.
"You don't have a car?" I ask when my eyes come back in disappointment.
"My car got heat up so the driver has taken it for repair and I don't know when will he come back as there are no signals here, moreover," he says, "there is no transport here due to today's strike."
I run my fingers through my hair in frustration. What will happen now?
"Why did you come here?" He asks.
I look at him with astonishment. How can we forget that?
"Did you forget? I have come here to drop that puppy from yesterday."
He just nods his head in cognition like he seems to remember that.
"What will we do now?" I ask biting my nails in annoyance.
"We will walk to your university and fetch the car, " he calmly replies like it means nothing to him.
"Are you okay? My university is really far from here."
I roam my eyes around. The sun is about to set due to which faint darkness is hovering all over. The orange tint in the sky caused by the departing sun is making the atmosphere gloomy. The swift cold breeze is whirling inflicting the small plants along the sides of the road to flutter.
"Then do you want to stay the whole night here?"
I look back at him who is looking at me with a raised brow. I sigh when other than this, there is no other option.

I grab my growling stomach when it's getting difficult for me to walk anymore. Its been this morning since I have eaten anything and now hunger is striking me so hard. I stop in my track when my legs can't seem to support me anymore. I gape around and my eyes gleam in glee on the sight of the restaurant in the front. The same restaurant where Armaan has brought me last time.
"What's wrong?" Armaan asks as he comes near to me.
"Can we eat something there?" I ask back, gesturing towards the restaurant.
"Its already starts to get dark. If we get later then it will be dangerous," he answers.
"It won't take long. I am really hungry." I pout.
He sighs and nods his head. I smile as I follow him.

My eyes glisten seeing the delicious food in front of me. I start devouring the food like a starving person. The meal of this place is really savory. I gulp the water down my throat when I see Armaan looking at me with a poker face, his both arms fold around his chest. My grip on the glass tightens as the mouth of the glass halts to where it was - a few inches away from my lips. I don't comprehend that I haven't asked him to eat as well.
"Aren't you going to have it?" I ask as I place the glass back on the table.
"I already had lunch with the business partners I had come here," he replies. His position still doesn't change a bit.
I just mouth an oh in the reply. I look down on my plate again. Why is he looking at me like that? In frustration, I shove the whole sandwich in my mouth at once.
"Eat slowly, I am sure you don't want to get chocked," he points me out with a hint of humor and laughter in his intonation. I remember when he had once implied the same thing when we were in the cottage, how his voice was stern and mocking but this time, there is softness and friendliness in the same voice. I look up to him and show him an apprehensive smile. I can't believe his face is still the same- serious and expressionless when his voice a while ago clearly exhibits the totally opposite of it.
"Stop looking at me with these eyes." I let out a laugh.
"I am not looking at you," he says, " I am looking at this necklace of yours."
I touch the necklace promptly.
"Your father has given it to you?" He asks.
I nod in reply. He must have seen Dad's picture in the diamond or else he remembers it from the day I have lost it.
"You are so lucky to have something which belonged to father," he mumbles.
It's like he has just said this line more to himself than me. I stare at him with a confused expression. I am sure he means his mother by that. There is something really wrong which has happened to his mother. Every time he comes here, he talks about her.
"Haven't your mother gave you something as her last remembrance?"
He glances back at me. In a reverie, he shakes his head sideways. At this time, I really feel bad for him. He has lost his mother at such a young age and he doesn't have anything to remember her.
"Do you have her picture?" I ask.
He just nods his head.
"Then nothing can top that picture if you want to have something belonged to her. Just hug that picture whenever you miss her and you will feel like you are hugging her for real, " I assert as a smile appears on my lips.
I carry the glass of water and attach it to my lips.
"Zara!"
I glance at him while glass still on my mouth.
"Thank you!"
He says with a smile. I smile back. I can't believe he will thank me. I roam my eyes around. Like the last time, there isn't anyone here except us and waiters. How comes this restaurant is running without customers?
"Why this restaurant is always unoccupied?"
"My mother was a chef. This restaurant was built by her so I don't allow customers to come here," he replies.
"Woah!" I didn't know that this restaurant was owned by his mother and she was a chef.
"I have come to think of this, what about we stay here, in the restaurant?" He asks.
"That's more than best," I exclaim, "why don't you think of this earlier?"
At least it's better than to walk ten kilometers all the way to my university and the worst is in these pencil heels of mine.
"It didn't come in my head earlier." He chuckles.
According to Armaan, there are two or three spare rooms here. I don't still ask him whats the use of these rooms in this restaurant even when it is striking me as an odd thing. Maybe his mother used to live here or something like that.
"What are you doing here?"
I get startled when Armaan abruptly stands up, his hands roll into a tight fist as his voice becomes rough and grim. I have never seen him in this much rage. It's like a volcano has exploded within him and he is controlling this eruption by clutching his lower jaw hard.
