EPILOGUE

"I am ninety-seven per cent sure this will work." Ranbir grinned at Aryan who was very unsure of this little 'perfect' idea.

"Actually I think we should execute it sometime later, I suddenly see some major flaws in this plan," Aryan said, casting glances at the staircase and his watch every now and then. I was quarter to five and the girls would be here at any time.

Sure, he was the one who came up with it in the first place and even spent an entire week to make sure everything was perfect to the 'T. But now that the day was finally here, he suddenly felt that this was a very, very bad idea that will be the cause of ruining every tiny step forward he had taken towards the girl he had fallen for god knows how.

"Absolutely not." Ranbir said ferociously.

He had spent the entire yesterday beside the younger boy as he anxiously fretted over every tiny detail. From the mode of transport to the colour of the bloody cushions, he had to tick off everything even after Aryan had checked it himself.

Four times.

He would have gotten down to the fifth time too if Ranbir hadn't had to resort to threatening him into sleep. Not that he minded helping Aryan out, this was the least he could do for him and Shahana after all the help they had been throughout his own love story. But there was a limit between being a perfectionist and driving someone up the wall. And Aryan had galloped over that line by the evening.

And now, there was no way he would let him back off, not after spending an hour this morning trying to calm his nerves, which were very much tingling once again.

"Bro, try to understand, I am not sure that she like me back. I really don't want to lose our friendship over my feelings." Aryan said.

"You clearly don't see the way she becomes a blushing mess when you are within four feet of her." Ranbir deadpanned.

"And besides, it's too late now." Ranbir gestured towards the staircase where a totally clueless-looking Shahana descended with a nervous Prachi.

"I heard you were going to the office today?" Shahana asked Ranbir, who pulled his best 'I'm forced to' face on.

"We all were supposed to be going to the college fair." Shahana whined.

"Hmm," Ranbir feigned displeasure, "There was some renewal of the contract and it needed both mine and Prachi's signature for completion."

"Hmm," Shahana seemed to buy it.

"Don't worry, you can kill time with Aryan instead," Ranbir suggested, "He's free."

Before Shahana get another word out, Ranbir was gearing the car out of the main gate with Prachi, leaving a very fidgety Aryan beside her. She turned to look at the boy, who was already looking at her with a timid smile.

"Ahem," Aryan cleared his throat, "there is... umm" Shahana looked at him, biting the insides of her cheek.

~*~

"Do you think it will work?" Prachi asked, her eyes trained on the house disappearing in the background.

"What exactly are you talking about?" Ranbir controlled his smile, knowing how she still hasn't digested the whole concept of Aryan and Shahana. Well, he can't blame her, he was still somewhat shocked himself.

"You know if this idea would work or not.." Prachi trailed off.

"Of course, it would." Ranbir smiled, gently inching his hand towards Prachi's.

"You know what they don't need?" Prachi crossed her arms making Ranbir frown.

"Another Sanju," Prachi suggested.

"Hmm.." Ranbir nodded.

"Turn left."

"Huh?"

"Turn left." She repeated and Ranbir followed, "It's our time to play matchmaker."

~*~

"This..." Shahana looked ahead at the aww-worthy building in front of her.

"There is this cafe that has a really beautiful view, I wanted to go with you, would you like to go there?"

That was what he was supposed to say, what he had been practising in front of the mirror. But what did he say instead?

"My friend planned a new part in his hotel, he was asking me to review it, you can come, it's not like you have anything better to do anyway."

And then he had smirked.

Smirked.

He was thankful that Shahana agreed instead of his stupidity, but he still made a mental note to reduce his teasings if he wanted her to be his girlfriend.

"This doesn't seem to be any new hotel," Shahana commented, her eyes still taking in the soft aura.

"It is not a new hotel, there is a new idea." Aryan replied. "Let's go in," He held the door open and Shahana brushed past him, giving him a suspicious look.

~*~

Ranbir sat on the car's hood while Prachi leaned on the side. Waiting patiently for someone. Prachi had had him drive to their college's boys' hostel and had asked the peon to call the other boy.

Ranbir looked as Prachi straightened as Rishab came to view, a junior boy he had seen here and there in college. A classmate of Shahana.

"Hello, You called for me?" He greeted them both and Prachi looked at Ranbir.

"See, Rishab, maybe you don't know us-" Prachi started but the boy cut her off.

"I do, I know you two. Everyone in the college knows you two tbh." He chuckled, "You guys are the most unpredictable couple on our campus. You don't know for how many days my roommate was feeling blue after you two went official. He kept listening to these cheezy sad songs all the time." Ranbir cleared his throat, not very fond of hearing how Prachi's admirers got depressed.

Rishab's smile ebbed at the death stare he received so he quickly changed the track of the conversation, "But Shahana was so happy. She had always rooted for you two." He smiled at Prachi and tried to give the same to Ranbir as well as he could.

"You know Shahana?" Prachi asked and Ranbir frowned. Wasn't Shahana the main point of their visit here?

"Yeah," The young boy's smile returned, "We have a couple of classes together and we are paired in Material Exposure. So, yeah, I know her."

The smile on his face as he talked about Shahana was not normal, and for the first time since he walked out of the hostel gate, Ranbir felt bad for what was coming upon him.

~*~

*Sigh*

Shahana sighed for the sixth time making Aryan cringe once again.

"Sorry," Aryan muttered once again.

"I swear to god, Aryan, if you apologised once more, I will push you down the stairs." She snapped. Taking her heels off.

Aryan gulped down another apology from the tip of his tongue. There were indeed a lot of stairs. Since Aryan had panned the proposal to be somewhere beautiful, he had organised everything on the sky dining. He could finally see the three per cent of uncertainty starting to overpower the situation.

The lift was out of service.

Aryan seriously wanted to jump off the railing in embarrassment but it would have been highly inappropriate to leave her on the seventh floor.

"This way ma'am." The waiter bowed a little as he pushed back the glass door, smiling apologetically at Aryan. "I'll pick up the keys to your designated balcony."

Aryan straightened his back, trying to gauge the smaller girl's thoughts. Shahana looked around the medium-sized hall, her eyebrows quirked as her eyes danced between the various doors.

"This fly-dining tower is designed specifically for privacy," Aryan answered the questions gearing in her mind and Shahana nodded, more to herself than an answering nod.

"That way," He gestured to the left, where the door held a metallic board, reading 'Reserved' in glimmery, silver cursive.

"Your Key, Ma'am." The waiter offered a plastic chip card and left as soon as she held it.

Shahana pushed the door open and her steps flattered. The golden hue of the setting sun painted across her face and she felt the warmth of it seeping through her skin to her every fibre.

"Wow, Aryan it's..." The words failed her and the boy looked at her with bathed breaths. A small part of him rejoiced that she managed to keep in mind that he was there despite being so awestruck.

"It's marvellous..." Shahana finally breathed making the boy standing behind her gush in pride.

"Woah, such heavy word. Then it really should be pretty." Aryan chuckled at the astonished look on her face and Shahana bent her head, colour reaching her cheeks and looking the prettiest shade of rose dust under the warm glow of the sun.

"You are saying as if you don't see how beautiful it looks." Shahana said, shaking her head at his comment, or lack thereof.

Aryan bit his tongue, the set-up done by him, he forgot to act as any 'client' would have.

"Yeah, you are right..." He walked past her to touch the handing glass lantern, acting as if to inspect it. Acting of course, because he had himself selected every individual item placed here.

He could recite every single thing placed on the small cosy balcony alphabetically.

Shahana walked towards the railing, hovering her hands over the potted flowers hung over the metal bars. She felt her eyes once again drawn to the multicoloured sky and a soft sigh escaped her lips.

"Beautiful." Aryan smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he took in the girl standing before him.

He made his way to the wooden chair, dragging it back to catch Shahana's attention as he gestured for her to sit.

"Mademoiselle" He bowed with an exaggerated french accent, causing a small chuckle to escape Shahana's lips as she tried to keep her face from heating up unnecessarily.

"So?" Aryan asked after he had elegantly slipped into his own chair across from Shahana.

"It's pretty nice." She hummed, looking across the metal barricade. The smooth, cold iron losing its stiffness metaphorically with the small bundles of flowers hung to it.

"It doesn't seem like this idea is recently introduced and is still in progress." Shahana continued, noticing from the side of her eyes how Aryan shifted in his chair.

"Yeah... Right?" Aryan clears his throat. "Let's order something."

They called the waiter. Placed their orders (He didn't know she preferred Japanese cuisine over Mexican). And sat in silence.

While Shahana, despite her natural character, didn't feel any difference, Aryan was quite awkward. He cleared his throat, catching Shahana's attention successfully.

"So, what do you have planned ahead for your future?" Aryan asked and immediately kicked himself mentally.

"Well," Shahana straightened towards him, clearing her throat, "I'm still in the third year of my bachelor's. And then I am weighing my options to apply for Master."

Of course.

Aryan chastised himself. Why did he forget that the girl in front of him was just twenty-two? And he himself wasn't much older. They have a lot to study.

But still, he found himself prodding into her future plans even more.

"And what are you thinking of the master's degree?" He tilted his head to the side.

Shahana placed her hand on her neck and his eyes followed her movement. "Before everything sorted out and Prachi wanted to, you know..."

Leave.

He knew, and he also knew that She was going to follow his cousin to wherever she would have gone.

The waiter entered with their meal. Shahana shot him a thankful smile as he placed her order in front of her.

Aryan nodded at her when they were in solitude again. Is she going to choose one out of Delhi?

"I had already looked into some universities all over the country just in case. And there are quite a few promising ones in Chandigarh." She put sushi in her mouth.

Chandigarh...

He can visit her on the weekends. Five hours oneway drive couldn't be that bad. He can leave early morning on Saturday and return by Sunday evening. Take out eight hours of sleep and that'll give him about... seventeen hours with her. Given that he had every meal with her.

Or he could always choose a flite, only one hour's travel. Though four round trips a month will be a huge cut on his pocket money. He doesn't mind.

His father would definitely understand, but he didn't want to ask for money from his father to visit his girlfriend. Or he could also join work.

Yeah, he could join work, with Prachi and Ranbir already having joined the company, he wouldn't have anything better to do.

"But..." Shahana's voice broke his planning. He looked up to see her eyes trained on her plate, clicking her chopsticks together.

"But I'd already applied for an internship in Mumbai. And I think that it'll be only wise to move to Mumbai." She looked at him tentatively.

"Mumbai." Aryan breathed out.

Shahana nodded and he took a sip of water. Taking time to clear his mind.

"That..." He cleared his throat, "That would be awesome." He took another sip and looked to the side. The sun was almost set, and the only source of light was lanterns and fairy lights that hung around the balcony.

He looked back to face her and smiled a little, "They say Mumbai is the best city to live in if you want to be independent. It'll be good for you."

He tried to gulp down the discomfort from his face as he held his fork in a death grip. Something shifted in her eyes and he dropped his gaze to his half-eaten dessert. The food looked repulsive all of a sudden.

"Yeah..." Her voice sounded heavy but he refused to look up, pushing the aesthetic delicacy around in his plate.

Mumbai.

Maybe he could also get admission to MBA in Mumbai.

But this was his last year, while Shahana will move there next year. They will have to spend one year away one way or another. Better take the bitter pill before the cake.

"Actually, I was also thinking of applying for M-" His phone buzzed, cutting him off. He looked to see Ranbir video-calling him. He was about to decline but Shahana nodded at him. Encouraging him to take the call. He went out to answer.

He came back to see their table cleared out sans two champagne glasses. His eyebrows shot up as he looked at the girl. Still in her chair, she had twisted sideways to look over the night sky. He walked forward.

"Sahana." He called.

She didn't turn but acknowledged his presence with a slight tilt of her head. She took a deep breath. She turned and gestured for him to sit. Doing as asked, he took his place across from her and looked at her serious face.

"What's it?" He asked when she didn't speak for a few minutes.

"Aryan, Prachi is my best friend." Shahana sighed, " But there are some things that I can't tell her. But I need help and after her, you are the only person that I can tell this about."

"Yes, what is it?" He felt restlessness seep into him.

Something she couldn't tell even Prachi, what could that be?

"I need to tell you something, or, rather ask you something." Shahana bit her bottom lip and it took a great deal of effort for Aryan to keep his hands to himself.

"Umm, I'm not going to Mumbai alone." Shahana said.

"Okay,"

Is she going to ask me to come along?

"There is this boy I've known for a while and he is going to be there as well and.." He suddenly didn't like where this was going.

"I've decided to stay with him. We'll be roommates and all. Everything is already set." She sighed and bit her lip again.

"Do you know him well?" Aryan asked and Shahana nodded. "I know him and his family well enough."

"So what's the problem?" He asked, genuinely feeling confused. "I mean, it will be better than staying in the hostel, I guess?"

"Yeah, it will be." Her shoulders dropped.

"Is he not good?" His eyebrows furrowed.

"He is. He is one of the best humans I've met." He ignored the punch in his gut. "And that's the problem."

Shahana looked directly at him, as if she was looking for something, as she said, "The problem is that he is so good that I have started liking him more than a normal friend should."

This blow was harder to ignore as a breath passed his lips.

He gulped, his jaw set.

"At first I thought that maybe it is just a crush, and will pass with time. But my thoughts were only proved wrong as I spent time with him." She chortled.

"Mm-hmm" Aryan bit his tongue to distract himself.

"But, I don't know if he likes me or not." Her voice had an unfamiliar edge.

"Anyone would be stupid not to like you." He gave her a tight grin.

Shahana reciprocated with a grateful smile. "But he's never shown any sign."

"Yes? Well, have you talked to any mutual friends? What'd they say?" This was not what he was supposed to discuss tonight.

"They say he loves me to bits." She said softly, colour rising to her face and he was sure they would feel warm if he placed his palm on her cheeks.

"But I never felt it to anything more than one-sided feelings." She asked, tilting her head to the right and he found himself mirroring her.

"Well, just tell me one thing," Shahana nodded, "When you go into your blabbering spree," She frowned.

"How does he react?" Aryan asked.

"Well, he usually cut me off if it's something stupid, but if it's not, then," a smile made its way on her lips and she averted her gaze, looking back to the sky, "then he looks at me with this strange glint in his eyes."

He knew what it could be.

"Sounds like a psychopath." He deadpanned.

She shot him a glare.

"And now that I think of it, I have caught his eyes slipping to my lips more often than he would admit." She side-eyed him.

Aryan's whole body was twitching to just bolt up and out of there, but he fought against every nerve of his body to stay still.

"How does he treat you?" The words left his lips without any thoughts.

"I don't know." She glanced at him once before returning to looking for some recognizable constellations. "I don't have anyone to compare him with. He's quite a mixture of all I've seen."

An adoring look falls across her face. "He fights with me just like Ranbir banters with Prachi. And his compliments are just as teasing and cheezy as Vikram Uncle's to Pallavi Aunty. He looks just like Purab Uncle. And he is also just as caring as Aarav and Piyush are of me."

"Sounds very brotherly." He said, monotonously.

She rolled her eyes in the dark. They sat quietly for some minutes. Aryan just took in the smile she wore.

"Do you really like him?" Why was he doing this to himself?

She looked down, colour returning to her cheeks. "Truth?"

He nodded. "I've never liked someone so much before. No one's ever been on my mind as much as he usually is. And I've never felt so light yet so grounded with anyone else. Just looking at him makes me feel like nothing could ever go wrong as long as I get to be with him. He's been with me through the difficult times we faced not long ago and he was the reason I was able to stay sane through it all. And the thing is, I've always read about having butterflies in your stomach when you are in love. But even they've never told about the calmness that comes after it."

Another spell of silence fell upon them.

Aryan would never believe that that other boy would love Shahana as much as he does, but it can't be denied that the girl sitting in front of him was in love.

And just that realisation turned his anger into something much more painful, much more serious.

He laughed a little, catching Shahana in surprise.

"You never told if he had something like me?" He asked. The corners of his eyes prickled.

She looked at him for a moment, and he thought that maybe he had seen through his façade of indifference.

"He also has brown eyes with speçs of honey in them." She said.

No, his mind rebelled, it was supposed to be his aspect. Only his. Only theirs.

And he wondered every time he looked into his eyes, who did she see? His love for her or the glint she claims to see in his eyes.

"You should tell him." He told her.

"Should I?" She asked.

He nodded and she smiled softly.

He didn't ask for his name. He wanted to, God he wanted to know so bad.

But he feared it would make all this scenario that much more real.

And he didn't want it to hit him yet. At least not in front of her.

"Oh yeah," she said, straightening in her chair. "They gave us this." She gestured to the champagne glasses. He had totally forgotten about them.

She picked up a glass and looked at him waiting for him to catch on.

"You are going to drink?" He raised an eyebrow.

"It's Non-alcoholic." She said sagely.

Too bad, he could definitely use some alcohol right now.

Nonetheless, he picked up the glass. Clinking it lightly with Shahana's and she giggled.

"Mmm-" she took a sip, "How should I ask him out?"

"I don't know." He answered honestly.

"Should I just go for the classic 'asking out on a date'?" She took another sip. And he followed her lead. "Sounds like the best option."

"These are pretty good for complimentary drinks." She approved.

Aryan's eyebrows furrowed and she elaborated. "These are for three years anniversary of this fly dining café."

He nodded before the meaning dawned upon him and he broke out in a fit of coughing.

Shahana smirked.

"You.. you knew?" He asked, eyes wide.

"Of course. I knew." She took another swig of the golden liquid.

Aryan open and closed his mouth. Resembling much a fish out of the water. "Wha- How?"

"It was all my plan." She supplied, ending the chase. Her own excitement was making her impatient.

"Yours?" He asked.

"Yup, right from overhearing Prachi and Ranbir to talking to Ranbir to have him manipulate you into thinking that it was your plan. It was all me." She cocked an eyebrow.

Aryan's mind reeled along all the things Ranbir had said to him over the course of the month and looked at the tiny girl in front of him.

"Wow," he whispered as he saw how her dress complimented the outfit Ranbir had chosen for him and how their outfits go out with the decorations he had himself chosen. "I was about to cry."

Also, this fly dining, booked exclusively by his best mate was more inclined to his taste than that of Shahana's.

Was that her choice too?

"WOW" He said, covering his face in his hands. It was all coming to his senses slowly.

This was real. This was actually happening. Shahana, the girl he had unexpectedly fallen for, had set up an elaborate plan to ask him out.

"So Mr Aryan Khanna," she stood up to walk around the table to him, and he got up as well before Shahana pushed him back down. Fixed on having the towering opportunity this time around.

"You got your time to speak, and you decided to support my little infatuation."

He looked up into her eyes. With him seated, he still reached her shoulders.

"And since you seemed to know so much about my crush. What do you think, would he have liked this surprise?"

"I think so." He replied.

"Do you think he will join me in Mumbai since his father already likes me so much that he had already made all the arrangements?"

Dad was in this too?

"Doesn't sound like he has much of a choice." He said.

Doubt flickered in Shahana's eyes and he mentally kicked himself for the nth time this evening.

He gently took her hands in his before kissing the knuckles softly, all the while looking directly into her eyes.

"I was already planning on how everything I could do to stay by you. Be it Chandigarh or Mumbai." He answered, finally standing up and turning them to make her sit in his place instead, he knelt down in front of her.

Getting a hold of her hands again, he took a deep breath, 'This is really happening'

"Shahana, I really like you. I really, really, really like you. And I've liked you for a long time. Quite longer than I've realised, for sure. And I feel like I have these warm fuzzy balls in me that want to erupt anytime you are with me. Or even when I'm just thinking of you. And... and I want you to bask in their warmth as you stay with me for as long as I could imagine. And I want to listen to your irritating baseless rants. And I want to be clingy and to rile you up the wall and then placate you." Aryan stumbled through his words.

"I want to be the first person that comes to your mind when you are happy and the first person you want to see when you are sad. I want to be the first person your eyes look for when you laugh and the last person to ever make you cry." He gently squeezed her hands.

"I don't know how or when or under what planetary alignment I fell for you but I have. And I've tried playing it cool, but when I look at you, I couldn't even keep my confidence up because you make my heart race like there is no tomorrow." He laughed breathlessly.

"And.. and.." His hands moved to Shahana's face, "Oh God, I can't believe how much I adore yo-"

"Will you be my boyfriend?" Patience had never been Shahana's best virtue. A hearty laugh left Aryan as he nodded. Joining his forehead with hers, he whispered. "yes."

~*~

"Since when do you shop at Malls?" Ranbir asked Prachi as they entered the tall well-lit building. Swinging their entangled hands to and fro much like kindergarten kids.

"Since I find out how much of a fashionista I have for a boyfriend," Prachi replied, letting Ranbir do his childish antics.

Ranbir just chuckled. It was true to a limit. Ranbir was the kind of person who believed in the mantra of 'dress to impress'. Although his looks did most of the work for him, he still spent some quality time enhancing them with the right choice of wardrobe.

And more often than not, even Prachi had found herself asking him for opinions. Especially when they are set to have a meeting where a good impression was a must to have.

"Oh ho, looks like you brought me here to buy me a present." Ranbir said, bumping his shoulder into her's as they stepped onto the elevator.

Looked like Prachi already had the destination in her mind.

The girl, who was not ready for his excitement, swayed a bit forward before rolling her eyes. "No, I'm giving myself a gift."

"Finally treating yourself like the queen you are right?" Ranbir wrapped his arms around her waist and Prachi jumped out of his grasp in record time.

She glared at him as her face became red as a tomato, huffing when Ranbir just laughed in response. Ranbir knew how much shy she gets at PDA but he still couldn't control himself. Especially not when her reaction turns out this cute.

"Come on." She scolded him and had to literally drag his laughing figure behind her.

They entered a jewellery store. One that she had done quite some research on.

As one of the attendees greeted them and led them to a personalized corner, Ranbir concluded that she had already booked an appointment with the store. The corner they seated in was quite chic a glass counter on which a lamp and a mirror were situated.

The attendant bowed a little before making her way around the counter.

"Here ma'am," She placed three square and two oval boxes in front of them and Ranbir looked to find each one of them having nestled couple rings more beautiful than the others. Each had its drawing aspect.

"Choose one." Prachi turned to him with one of the biggest smiles he had seen her adoring. Her eyes practically glowed with happiness.

He knew where this was coming from. He hasn't forgotten how he had told her that he was going to put a ring on her finger as soon as they came back from the wedding. And the fact that Prachi had got a green chit on her sprained wrist and had ditched the cast earlier this week had all to do with this shopping trip.

"You choose, it's your gift after all." Ranbir replied with a sweet smile.

"Umm-hmm," She shook her head, "You are going to choose for us. I have already shortlisted them on the basis of both our tastes."

Ranbir wanted her to choose, but he knew that his choice would mean so much more to her. So he turned to the rings once again. Going over every one of them. They all had their own significant characteristics. But still, he felt his eyes drawn to one pair in particular.

So he picked up the wave-inspired bands and handed them to the attendant, who smiled and led them to the paying counter. It was Prachi's turn to swing their hands back and forth giddily.

"Here," Prachi passed her card before Ranbir could even bring his hand to his wallet and smiled cheekily at him.

"I can pay Prachi." He told her, while she just shook her head.

"But I want to pay." She replied, gesturing to the cashier to proceed with the payment.

"But how can it be your gift if you are the one paying." Ranbir questioned, raising his eyebrows playfully.

"Because I get to put it on your finger. That's how it is my gift." She mimicked his tone, taking the shopping bag and handing it to him.

She walked to the car with a happy skip in her step. And Ranbir followed like a lovesick puppy.

"You don't know how much I enjoy spoiling you." Ranbir whined.

He supported her by the waist to help her sit on the hood of the car. Leaning to the side, his stomach brushing lightly against the side of her thighs, he frowned up at her.

"Oh, give it up. And besides, these are just Promise rings. You can buy the engagement rings in a couple of months." She said and a warmth filled Ranbir's heart.

Their engagement has been fixed in just over two months. Both families agreed to the date. Though he wanted the nearest one, his chief had gone into a frenzy about the date being too soon.

Though Ranbir had tried his best to get everyone to agree to the closest date, tattering his reputation to shreds in the way, his beloved Chief had won and now, he had to wait two months to get his title updated to fiance.

Only if they had agreed, their engagement would have been-

"You wanted to get engaged today, right?" Prachi stole the words from his mind, smiling softly at him.

"Yes, I did." Ranbir smiled, the tips of his ears turning pink.

"So, give me your hand."

Ranbir did and asked and Prachi placed the light grey velvet box in the middle of his palm. The little light in the lid of the box cast light on the rings and the bands twinkled beautifully.

"You remembered." He said more to himself.

He picked up the diamond-studded, thinner of the two bands, and took her smaller hand into his. He remembered how different everything was from the last time he had done the same thing.

The last time he had slipped a ring onto her finger, no one else knew about them. Both of them were surrounded by problems like disapproving parents and obsessed siblings and psycho stalkers. But now, everything was different. Everything sorted.

"We made it through everything." Ranbir slipped the platinum ring onto her finger.

"We did." Prachi replied, doing the same.

"We made it." They said in unison, entangling their hands together. The Promise of Forever twinkling in the setting sun's light.
