Jamilah

The journey back to Abuja didn't take time though Samimah was still giving me her space but I didn't let it bother me

She moved her things from our room on our arrival,she went to her mom's room as promised

I rearranged the room to my liking and went to bed,I was so tired and stressed

I wake up and yawned feeling more relaxed,I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth I took my phone from the bed and I met that the time was 5:51pm,I slept for three hours

I went to the living room and met my dad and Samimah quietly watching the television

"Have you eaten?"I asked them but my dad replied

"No"

"I will make something for us"I said and started walking to the kitchen when Samimah stopped me

"I'm not hungry"

"Ok"I said

"You're not hungry?"my dad asked raising his brows "what's wrong with you?"my dad asked her

"I'm not just hungry"she said looking ahead of my dad

"Samimah you're hungry!"my dad said looking at her warily "what's wrong with you?"my dad asked with concerns lacing his voice

"I'm fine"Samimah replied sharply

"Whatever is bothering you,you can tell me because I'm your dad and the only parent you have"my dad said

"I said I am fine!"she yelled

"Samimah what's wrong with you?"my dad asked quietly,I just stood watching the drama unfolding at my presence,I wasn't ready to add to it

"I'm fine"she said and started crying

My dad stood up and sits beside her, stroking her back gently after awhile she lay her head on dad's chest

"I know it's hard for you to loose your mom but please don't let it bring you down,I am here for you and I will try to fit in your mom's shoes just open up to me"my dad said quietly to her,I sit opposite them still remaining quiet

"Why did you cheat on mom?"she finally asked after awhile

"I'm sorry about that"my dad said

"I want to know everything dad,I have the right to know everything that's happening in our family"she said looking at my dad with glassy eyes

"I don't think you are ready for it"my dad said

"I am dad,I'm more than ready to know everything,you can't keep on keeping me in the dark"she said

"Ok"my dad said and look at me,I gave him an encouraging smile

"I met Jamilah's mom before yours"

"Really?"Samimah said looking surprised

My dad narrated all the story to her and she remains quiet for awhile

"But that doesn't give you the right to cheat on your wife"she said after awhile

"I know,we make mistakes,you aren't a mistake Jamilah"he said the last part looking at me and I smiled

"You made a mistake too Samimah and I forgave you about it,you should be able to let this go too, don't dwell in hatred it's bad for everyone's health"my dad said

"You have forgiven me for getting pregnant?"Samimah asked with tears threatening to fall from her eyes

"Yes my dear but if you tell me the idiot name I can deal with him personally"my dad said and Samimah look at me

"It was my mistake dad, it's not his and I love you so much, thanks for forgiving me"she said and hugged my dad

"Are you okay now?"my dad asked

"More than okay"she said smiling"I'm sorry too Jamilah I know I have been a bitch for awhile now"she said

"What are we sisters for"I said winking at her,she came and hug me and we bursted out laughing

"I'm hungry girls"my dad groan and we giggled

"Here we go!"Samimah said and we both dashed into the kitchen

It was nice having her back and I'm so happy about how everything ended or so I thought

We went to school the following day and I was so calm and light,I never knew letting go of hate can work this kind of magic on anyone

I inhale sharply before stepping my leg in the school,I'm going to miss my mom and I'm sure of it

I went inside the class and the first person my eyes fell on was Fawwaz,he smiled at me and came to hug me

"How are you feeling now?"he asked

"Much better"I said smiling back at him

"So my girlfriend...."I cut him off

"Your girlfriend?"I asked giggling

"Yeah my girlfriend or are you not?"he asked with a questioning look and also smirking,I chuckled

"Of course your girlfriend"I said

"Hallelujah!"he shouted and I started laughing when my eyes involuntarily fell on a glaring eyes

Charles was glaring at the both of us,I coughed awkwardly because I don't understand what's wrong with him

I settle down in my seat before the class begins,after receiving three nonstop classes before break my mates came after the other to offer their condolences

They said they weren't aware blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah but I smiled at them mostly fake and thank them for caring about me

I wanted to go to the food vendor,I look around Fawwaz wasn't in the class and Jamilah was busy talking with Fawzan I don't want to disturb them then I saw Jaffar looking at the both of them with his eyes full of sorrow

Does he like Jamilah?

I shook my head and left the class,I guess I'm going out for break alone

I went out of the class and I saw Blessing and Mercy talking

"How can we be having class after MOCK,this school is tiring"Blessing said

"Preparing us for WAEC"Mercy replied shrugging

I pass through their side and I suddenly hear Blessing call my name

"Mimah wait!"she said and I halted,the two of them run towards me

"Mimah please it's time you forgive us,we know we were wrong but we will never repeat the same mistake"Blessing said and I remain quiet looking at her

"I heard about your mom,I'm so sorry"Mercy said

"Thank you"I said turning around while Blessing hold my right hand stopping me from moving

"What's it?"I asked calmly

"Can't we just go back to the way we are before and forget about all of this?"she asked with hopes in her eyes

"Can that bring my virginity back?"I asked her scoffing but she remain quiet"I hold no shit against you but I don't want to be your friend or close to you any more"

"I'm sorry"Blessing said quietly

"I'm sorry?"I chuckled dryly"how can you play with my life like that and tell me you're sorry,were you sorry when you set me up with Charles,were you sorry when I gave my heart foolishly to him,were you sorry when he raped me?, Of course not because you were busy enjoying the show,the worst shit I ever done in my life is trusting you,that's the worst and please don't ever in your life time try stopping me again"I said and started walking briskly almost like I'm running trying to control the threatening tears

I went to the back of the food vendor and fell on the ground and started crying badly,I tried to control the anger I feel but I can't,I felt weak betrayed sad and exhausted

I stood up after gaining my confidence back wiping away the tears in my eyes,I was dusting my skirt when I suddenly hear my name

"Samimah"I look up to see Charles standing and I felt like destroying him into pieces

"What do you want?"I asked glaring at him,the hatred I felt towards him was hundred times greater after setting my eyes on him

"I heard about the pregnancy"he said calmly

"Hallelujah it was aborted,you got no cause to worry"I said trying to walk out on him but he hold my wrist gently pushing me back to my former position

"I know what I did is wrong,it is so wrong but please forgive me and let's start all over again"he said with sorrowful eyes but I scoffed and started laughing like a lunatic

"Do I look like a clown or a robot you can control anyhow you want?"I asked him after calming down

"Please Samimah,give us a chance"he said holding my hands and I pull my hands away abruptly

"There is no more us Charles and there will never be us again,you threw that out that moment you decided to rape me"I scoffed "how do you expect me to come back to you after everything you have done to me,you treated me like a shit but you know what I'm not ready to be used again,you can only fool me once not twice"I said tryin to walk away but he stopped me

"I'm not giving up without a fight"he said and I chuckled

"You can try and as you can see I have a new romantic sensible and not a rapist boyfriend and please let my hand go I need to be somewhere better with human beings not animals"I said and he released my hands

I lost my appetite immediately after seeing two people I dreaded most,I went back to the class and met Fawwaz

"What's wrong?"he asked me and I inhaled

"It's Charles and Blessing,I don't know their plan"I said agitated

"What do you mean?"he asked

"When I went out for break Blessing stopped me and apologise for everything and Charles also stopped me after apologising"

"What did he say?"he asked frowning

"He said he wants me back and he is not given up without a fight"anxiety rush through me immediately,I got frightened because I don't know what Charles plans to do

"I will deal with him"Fawwaz said standing up but I hold him down

"Not now please not now,let him make the first move first then we will know what to do,I don't want any trouble and you know the term is ending soon"I said and he nodded

"Fine, whatever you say but if he tries anything silly don't waste your time and come and tell me immediately"he said and I nodded

"I love you so calm down and rest your mind,he can't do anything to you"he added

"I hope so"I muttered
