"Do you still love my mom?"I asked dad

"Why are you asking me this?"

"I want to know"

"I do"dad said silently as he look away like he was lost"she was my first love,how could I ever stop loving her?"

"What!"that was shocking

How was my mom my dad's first love,I thought they had scandal together when my mom was working in the house as the house help

"Yes my darling,I do love your mom"

"I want to know how she became your first love,I don't understand what's going on"I said looking at my dad directly in his eyes

"You look a bit different Martha"my dad said calling my English name

"Yeah I stopped wearing glasses I'm using lenses now, don't try to avoid my request"I roll my eyes while dad chuckles

"You are persistent"

"It's about my parents dad"

"Yeah,you are right"he paused"your mom use to work for my parent,she was a cleaner,her mom was a cleaner at our place too so when she was old enough she joined her"

"Why have mummy never told me this"I asked

"Because we believed you didn't need to know,but it's seems you are old enough now"

"I'm sixteen dad"I said smiling and he did thesame

"You are right,I started noticing your mom when she was eighteen,she was perfect everything about her was gloriously perfect,the way she smiles and she rarely gets angry"

"Yeah, mummy rarely gets angry"I nodded in agreement

"I started talking to her,I made friends with her and also made her fell in love with me"he smiled looking lost

"So,how come mummy end up working for you and you got married to another woman?"I asked

"Well,my parents were not in support of our love,they wanted me to marry someone from their class and i fight though but your mom gave up sooner than expected"

"And?"

"My parents choose a wife for me,I felt defeated and I married her,when we were moving here as a newly wedded couples,mom asked your mom to follow us,to work for us"

"That's wickedness,what did you do?"

"I accepted,I think it was better having her close to me"dad shrugged

"And me?"

"Your mom can be persistent sometimes,it took me a long time to make her fall for me again"he laughs"I love it when your mom is angry and when she says no,it makes her look cute"

"That's why you love me so much"I said hugging my dad crying

"You look like her darling,you are a gift to me"

"I want to make things right"

"How?"

"Mom is coming back to the house,she deserves happiness and love"

"I persuaded her once but she won't change her mind"

"Don't worry dad,I'm here for you and her"I hugged him again

"Thank you angel"

Fawzan

I was in my room playing PES,listening to music in my system and I heard shouts downstairs,I tuned down the music and I wore my slippers going downstairs

"I won't stop asking mom"I heard Fawwaz yell

"You all are going to be the death of me"my mom said frustrated

"What's going on here?"I asked

"Fawwaz is asking mom where dad is"Fawzy said

"Seriously mom,where is dad we can't contact him at all,you told us he went to New York for business, it's been six months mom,he is not yet back,what's going on"I asked

"She better start talking"Fawwaz said in rage,he is really angry

He was dad favorite and he loves him a lot,I understand his rage

"He will be back soon"

"He will be back soon?!, that's all you ever say when we ask of him,what kind of business is that that kept him busy for the past six months and he is not yet back nor does he tries to contact us"Fawwaz yelled

"Trust me boys,there is nothing wrong with your dad"my mom said

"I can never trust you mom,you understand!"Fawwaz yelled and I hold him trying to calm him down

"Is dad dead?"Fawzy asked covering his mouth

"No no no boys...not..not.. nothing..is..is ...wr .wrong with yo...your ...da ..dad"my mom staggers and Fawwaz charge towards her,I dragged him back but he was so furious and he pushed me away,I grab him back but he pushed me,I went closer to him and landed a heavy blow across his face and he stood quietly trying to control his rage

"Excuse us mom"I told my mom and she nodded,she took her car key leaving the house

"What's wrong with you Fawwaz,do you want to hit her?"I asked angrily

"You don't understand how angry I am,how can she be lying to us,I smell something is fishy"he said

"We all smell something fishy Fawwaz,but this is not the right way to go about it"I said

"Yes,Fawzan is right,calm down Fawwaz let's gather our thoughts and think about what to do next"Fawzy said

"Yeah, I'm trying to calm down"Fawwaz said and we all sit down quietly

"That blow hurts man!"Fawwaz finally say and we all laughed

He was already calm and back to his normal self

Jaffar

I lazily drop my school bag and fell on the bed rubbing my eyes

My door suddenly opened and it was Mimi at the door

"Jay Jay!"she ran to hug me

"Beautiful!"I said holding her to myself

"How was school?"she asked

"It was fine"I said tickling her while she giggles

"Jay don't want to come?"she asked with a sad face

She have been disturbing me since the following day of my birthday about Jamilah's visit

"Yes"I said

"Why?"she said sitting beside me

"She doesn't like me"I say

"I thought she likes you"

"I thought so too but she doesn't like me,we should stop talking about her don't you think?"

"Yes"she nodded hugging me

"I love you Jay Jay"she said and I nodded blinking away the tears

"I love you to Mimi"I said quietly and she buried her head in my chest

I'm too young to have severe heartbreak,I'm just seventeen and I haven't achieve anything,I should focus my love on my sister,it's way better

"What's happening here?"my dad said opening the door a little

"Family moment"I say wiping the tear that escaped

"Can I join"he asked

"Of course"I smiled and dad smiled too hugging us

"Why don't we go out, family date"my dad suggested

"Aye!!"Mimi shouted jumping and we laughed

"Let's get ready"dad nodded

......

We were almost through with our food and dad said

"Why don't we visit your mom?"I looked at my dad with shocked expression and my spoon fell

"Dad are you serious!"I was overwhelmed with happiness

"Yes my baby"he nodded

"Thank you Daddy!"I shouted hugging daddy not minding every eyes on us in the restaurant

"Calm down son"my dad said chuckling and I smiled

How could I contain my happiness when for the first time my dad had finally gain the courage to visit my mom's grave

"We are going to the sky?"Mimi asked while my dad looked at me

"What does she mean?"my dad asked

"I told her mom is looking over us in the sky"I replied

"But she needs to know the truth"my dad said and I nodded,my dad sit Mimi on his lap making her face him

"Your mom is dead sweetheart,she died when you were a baby"

"Jay Jay said mummy is in the sky"she frowns her face

"Yes,she is in the sky because she is died"my dad said and I only pray she understands

"How are we going to visit her because my teacher said we can't see dead people"she said still frowning

"You are right,we can't visit her"my dad said looking at me asking for help

"Would you love to visit Tabitha?"I asked her, Tabitha was her classmate,one of our neighbors and her friend

"Yes Jay Jay"she said happily

"Dad we will drop her at Tabitha's and we can go"I said

"So nice of you"dad smiled and I smiled back

Sewa

I was pacing up and down in my bedroom thinking about how I can get Jaffar close to me, I don't know what to do and Jamilah had made it worst for me

I knew Jaffar had never stopped loving me even when I was with Fawzan but now everything changed because of Jamilah coming to my school

I hit my dressing table and slump on my bed exhaling rapidly,I decided to take a cool shower

I wore a khaki short and a royal blue singlet leaving my room,I went to the kitchen and grab a chocolate cake,I heard my dad's laughter and I went closer to eavesdrop

"You are not serious"my dad said laughing

"Those boys are funny"my dad said again after listening to whatever the other speaker has to say

"But seriously you should tell them their dad is not feeling fine"

"I understand but I think it's better to let them know"

"Ok,when will we see"

"Perfect,I love you"

I heard my dad's side of the conversation,he ended the call with a laughter

Who was dad saying I love you to

I pondered,my mom is not at the country,she went to Dubai and dad is already cheating on her,I'm going to make sure I find out who the woman is and make sure she doesn't destroy my family

I lost my appetite and returned the cake back to the fridge

Jamilah

I slept as soon as I came back from school,after an hour of sleeping I felt hungry,I went to brush my teeth

I met Samimah's mom sitting in the living room watching the television

"Good evening"I greeted but she look at me and placed her eyes back on the television

What's wrong with this woman

I didn't want what happened before to repeats itself so I decided to ask for permission before going to the kitchen

"I would love to get something to eat"I said

"And how is that my business"she replied facing the television

"Because the last time I tried to enter the kitchen,you were angry I didn't took permission from you"I said

"Get lost,you are disturbing"she said waving her hand in dismissal and I got angry

"What did I do to you?"I asked because I don't understand her sudden change of character

"What?"she asked furrowing her brows

"Why did you hate me so much,the last time I checked I haven't done anything to earn your wickedness since I entered this house"I said

"Well you can talk to your mom about that"she said standing up leaving the sitting room,my eyes followed her back and I could see how pale and weak she was

Instead of her to concentrate on her illness

No!!!

She got all the time to hate

I shook my head going inside the kitchen
