Chapter 1 || The Call

"I didn't choose you. My heart did."
                                              Unknown.

Sienna's P. O. V
I posed in a defensive stance as Judy was about to attack. I blocked the kick from her leg to my face and push her back. I lurched at her, throwing punch after punch to her face and stomach. She fell to the floor with a grunt. We have been like this for over an hour and this girl refuses to give up until she has my back down.

"I think am gonna have to give up."  she said spitting blood. I gave her a hand as she stood up. Judy was part of my first ten best fighters. Apart from being a detective, I train all new recruits. The girl has it in her but she is too bent on beating me than developing her skills and using it to her advantage.

"I think I have to go to the hospital. Again." She sent a glare my way and I couldn't help but chuckle. Her skin was badly bruised. Shades of red were all over her arm with a deep purple patch beneath her eye not to talk of the swelling. Fighting with her always seem more personal than a training  for reason I can't comprehend.

"Don't worry. You will get to win me. Someday. Hopefully." She had this devious smile on her face that sent me chills.

"Oh I will. And it would be more than just winning. " she said with a wink. I couldn't help but feel threatened.

She left and I packed my things and headed straight to my room. I owned Compton Academy as an extra source of income. Being a detective and sometimes a hired bodyguard had its perks, but if you got not case, you get no money.

The Compton Academy trains all police and soldier recruits in the art of fighting and personal defence. I am only responsible for teaching the advance class before they get posted in their jobs.

I closed the basement and entered the elevator. The advanced class named their training field the basement. Only because it was here their fighting got intensified and if I may use their own words "shit gets real".

Opening the door to my apartment, I felt goosebumps on my skin. The place seems too quiet. I dropped my bag on the floor and closed the door behind me gently.

Just then the phone rang, causing me to jump.  I picked it up and looked behind me out of instinct. "Hello, Miss Ambrose speaking. How may I help you?"

"Hello Erin, I have got a contract for you." A deep voice said on the other end. It seemed so authoritative.

"Meet me in my office so we can talk about it. I don't do business deals on phone."

"I know. But I can't meet you in your office. This has to be held somewhere private. I will text the address to you later."

"Am sorry but-" the line cut off leaving no room for arguments. My phone dinged, indicating he had sent the address. Who was he to boss me around? I have to decide whether I would go or not and I have.

I am not going.

I went to the kitchen to get a bottle of water and I stopped in my tracks. There, in the centre of the kitchen, was my little girl tied to a chair, with a tape strapped over her mouth.

Before I could take a step towards her, I heard a voice. "Hold it right there." I felt a piece of metal jab my back as I froze in place.

"You will not accept that deal. You will not go. Am I clear?"

A nervous chill ran through me. How was I already targeted for a deal I haven't even accepted?
"How do you know about the deal?"
I asked him to bide some time. Tons of ideas raced through my head. I need to get rid of this guy in a way that wouldn't affect my daughter.

"It doesn't matter. You will not accept that deal. And I will make sure of it." I heard the safety of his gun go off and ducked. I tripped him over. The sound of the shot resonated in the air.

I hit him in the leg. He let the gun go and it slid under the table. I grabbed the nearby chair and crashed it on his head.

"Stupid bitch." he muttered. I made a move to take the gun but he pulled my leg and I fell face flat. He took me up and crashed me on my table. I winced at the contact. A pan slid off and I held it. Using to my advantage, I hit him a few times with it. I took the knife and and wasted no time in stabbing him with it.

He grunted, falling down. I moved to untie my baby and stopped in my tracks.

My world stopped.

I could feel the beat of my heart drum loudly in my head. It was as if my air supply was being cut off. My head spin and my heart tightened in my chest. My legs gave out and I fell on my knees.
I stared at my baby.
Blood oozing from the bullet wound in her forehead.

He killed her. He killed my baby.

It took a few minutes for reality to set in. I grabbed my hair, tugging at it as the tears flowed.

"No!! This can't happen!!" I took the gun and pointed it at the fucker.

"You go tell whoever that sent you. That when I get a hold them, I will wipe out their entire generation!!" multiple sounds of gunshot ringed as I continuously pulled the trigger at him.

What did I get myself into? My baby is dead just because of a deal I haven't yet accepted. She was everything to me. She was the only string of hope I held in this dark forsaken world.

And now some asshole just took her away from me. I wiped the tears that fell. I swear on you April, whoever did this will not live. They will suffer and die by my hands. I untied the binds and took her in my hands.

"I am so sorry baby."

Author's Note.
Heyo. How is this for a first chapter? I wanted to portray the sense of action when she was fighting the intruder and grief when she lost her baby. Did I do it? Please do share your thoughts with me.
