Song: Met Him Last Night by Demi Lovato

**********

The moon hung peacefully in the onyx sky with stars twinkling innocently. The view of the sky from the safehouse was beautiful. I was on the highest floor, gazing out the window, my arms on the windowsill with my head resting on them.

"It's beautiful, right?" a voice said behind me.

Angelo emerged next to me, placing his left hand on the side of the window. "As humans, we take simple things like this for granted. Mortal skies are far superior to Nether Realm skies," he said.

I stared at him quietly. After he showed me Daemon's coronation, I thought it was pointless to show me because I was looking for a solution to our current problem; Danny's heart.

"I'm not interested in small talk, Angelo," I said tonelessly. "Talk to me if you have a plan to save Danny or stop this demonic game." I finished, without looking at him.

From my peripheral vision, I saw his head bow low. "I understand that you still don't trust me, and that's okay. I'm willing to be patient."

I didn't answer his statement. Instead, I continued admiring the silent night sky.

"The Elders sound like bitches." I commented.

"You're right about that." Angelo let out a small laugh.

"Like why couldn't they rule the Nether Realm themselves?" I pondered. "I'm not justifying any of Daemon's actions because what he has done to me and my friends is still wrong...but why him?"

"To be honest," Angelo began, "I have no idea."

He gave me a nudge, his alluring hazel eyes looking at me tiredly. "The others are asleep, are you heading to bed soon?"

I shook my head. "It's been hard for me to sleep. Even if I do fall asleep, I don't stay asleep for long." I sighed. I wish I was normal, no amount of sleeping pills can give me the relief I envied others have from having a peaceful slumber. Angelo put his hands together and leaned out the window with me, inhaling the refreshing night air. His eyes were closed and the cool wind blew on his unruly blonde hair softly. He opened his eyes and they lit up with an idea.

"Do you want to bake chocolate chip cookies and dip them in milk?" he asked me. I let out a small laugh, he can be so random sometimes. I nodded. I wasn't sleeping anytime soon so I might as well eat something. We headed to the kitchen to see if we could find cookie dough and milk.

A few minutes later, the sweet enticing scent of chocolate chip cookies filled the kitchen. I sat on the table with a heavy weight on my head and shoulders. Angelo set two navy blue mugs in front of me and took out milk from the fridge. He poured milk into each of the mugs and asked if I wanted to warm my milk. I shook my head no.

"I figured you'd say that," he gave me a small smile. Once the cookies were ready, we began to munch on them in silence. The confectionery flavor of the cookie enveloped my mouth. It was soft, warm, and reminded me of better days.

I decided to break the silence. "Why did you really bail us out?"

Angelo stopped chewing when he heard my question. He swallowed before he spoke, "I feel guilty for what I have done."

I waited for him to continue his explanation but he decided not to continue.

"That's it?" I asked sarcastically.

"Definitely not," Angelo said laughing, "if I told you the other half of my reason, you still won't believe me."

"I mean...you are right about that," I said, extending my wrist. "I won't be trusting or believing you anytime soon."

"Like I said..." Angelo murmured. "I'm willing to wait for you."

I cleared my throat when a crumb of cookie ventured its way down the wrong pipe. I drank the rest of my milk and set it down on the table.

"Would you like to watch a movie with me?" Angelo asked. "I remember you love horror movies." he grinned.

"We are living in a horror movie already." I laughed.

"That's true," Angelo nodded. "Unlike the others though, ours has romance entwined in our story."

I gave him the side-eye and an expression that told him that he's crazy. He let out a chuckle, "I'm just kidding!" His body language said otherwise.

"Fine," I agreed. "Let's watch a movie. But you get to pick." I said.

"Fine," Angelo grinned. He and I sat on the fluffy couch. I scooted to the corner of the couch feeling awkward to be this close to him. It was crazy to think that I used to have feelings for him. Hell, I even loved him. Angelo turned on the 70-inch flat-screen and scrolled through Hulu. He clicked on the movie Pet Sematary. I scoffed, remembering my own experience of grave digging at a cemetery.

We watched the movie in silence. Slowly but surely, my lids became heavy, my mind became foggy, and I leaned on someone's shoulder succumbing to sleep.

"Well, well, look who's finally here." a voice whispered in my ear. My eyes snapped open and backed away from the voice that woke me up. Aurelio stood in front of me in his full glory. His aura exuded evil and darkness that made you want to surrender everything you know to join him.

My surprise switched to annoyance. "I'm not even going to ask how I got here because I already have an idea that you have something to do with it."

I observed him warily. He had a streak of golden strands falling down each side of his face. He wore a black suit with gold trimmings. For a second, he reminded me of a mafia boss.

"What the hell do you want this time," I asked, crossing my arms.

Aurelio laughed at my sour attitude. It's as if he thought it was cute that I was being sarcastic.

"I'm here to make you an offer..." he began.

I said nothing which caused him to continue. "I can give you and your friends a pass on this round of the game."

I raised an eyebrow. "And what would you want in return?"

"Why would you assume I want something in return?" the Demon King asked.

"Because demons like you always have a catch to their offers," I said matter-of-factly.

The handsome man in front of me burst into laughter. "I would've never pegged you for someone to easily generalize demons."

I shrugged. "What can I say, I've had nothing but shitty experiences with demons." I finished, my tone getting darker near the end.

"You looked pretty comfortable with Ayperos to be generalizing a whole species of demons." Aurelio pointed out.

I rolled my eyes. I wasn't in the mood to banter with Aurelio. "Just tell me what you want. I don't want to stay here longer than I have to."

Aurelio began to pace around me as if I was prey to be examined and taunted before attacking.

"You were right. I do want something in return." Aurelio began. He stopped pacing until he stood in front of me, our lips were close enough to kiss.

"In exchange for Daniel's life, let me be your first partner of ravishment."

OOOOOOHHHHH >.> What do you guys think about this offer? What did y'all think of  Angelo and Celeste together? Thanks for being so patient! I just finished my first round of midterms so I was able to post :3
