So as you had them settled down in the guest room and prepared for dinner, you paid attention to Enola's friend's clothing.

"Fancy clothes for a kid living on the streets." you glanced at his coat. "Where did you even manage to steal them?"

"I didn't steal them." he scoffed. "I'm actually a Marquess." he then told you without even thinking it further and you snorted, as Enola laid a warning glance at him.

You waved your hand. "Yeah. Right. And I'm the heir for the throne."

He sighed, not wanting to lie. "No, I'm serious. I'm running away."

"From who?"

"An assassin."

You furrowed your eyebrows, glancing at Enola who sighed, silently confirming that Tewkesbury was telling the truth. So you asked, "An assassin? Why?"

He shrugged. "I'm not sure. Anyone won't get any money if I'm dead, at least. But that man has been good in tracking me down."

You suddenly felt uneasy, sitting there with him didn't feel safe anymore. Enola was your niece, sure, but to hide someone who was in a danger of being killed? You wouldn't have a heart to kick him out either, but you just felt like your house would be blown up if the assassin knew where Tewkesbury was.

"We'll be gone by tomorrow morning. Promise." Enola quickly muttered and you frowned.

"Where do you go?"

"I don't know. We have to keep moving." she answered and you gulped. You wanted to tell her that she can't go risk her life like that, but you knew Enola was a lot like her mother. Strong-willed, so you didn't even try. She also had wit and had the ability to think quickly, so you had no doubts that she and her friend were safer than ever if they followed her lead. So you just sighed and nodded, taking her hands in yours.

"But Enola, remember that you're always welcome to ask for help again. If you need a place to stay, food, money... I'll help you as much as I can."
