When the Prophet (S) was experiencing revelation, he would move his mouth quickly, trying to repeat the verses as they were recited to him as fast as he could, in order to remember them.

Allah sent down this verse in response to that:

"And, [Oh Muhammad], do not hasten with [recitation of] the Qur'an before its revelation is completed to you, and say, 'My Lord, increase me in knowledge’."

What was Allah telling his beloved Prophet (S)? Do not move your tongue hastily in an attempt to memorize and understand the Quran. True understanding of the Quran happens in your heart: how you experience the Quran. It happens in your mind: in how you comprehend the Quran. And in your actions: how you act upon the Quran.
