First is Lily Mikaela's fanfic one-shot:

Imagine a world, were your entire day, your entire life, is programmed. And if you didn't follow that particular programme, you were set free from it. Sounds all nice and good, right? No. Don't think that for one second. Because then you will end up like me. In the Enhancement Project. I don't know how long I've been missing from society. Hell, I don't even know what day it is. I just know that that programmed, boring life, is one million times better than the hell I've had to live in for god knows how many years.

My name is Andria King. I'm about 17 years old. I have been in the Enhancement Project for about 5 years. And today is a special day. Today is the day that I finally leave the Enhancement Project, for good. At least, that's what I thought.

~..~

The first time I awoke in the pristine white walls of the Enhancement Project I had panicked. Endless attempts to escape the cold straps that reached across various limbs all failed miserably. I was dressed in a papery-thin hospital gown, and the cold metal table I was held against brought shivers down my spine. The more I struggled, the tighter the straps seemed to get. In the midst of my panic, a robotic, yet cold voice sounded in the room.

"Welcome to the Enhancement Project."

I jumped slightly at the sudden sound, considering that the room was previously eerily silent. My eyes travelled around the room, trying to find where the voice was coming from.

"Your compulsory assessment will begin now."

I heard a mechanical sound behind me as I felt my restraints loosening. Without a second thought, I set myself free from the restraints and turned 180 degrees. My brown eyes widened in shock as I saw my brother strapped onto a metal table, his arms and legs binded with restraints just as I was only seconds ago. In an instant I had leaped off of the cool metal and towards Ashton. My fists pounded against the thick glass wall that separated us and his head snapped towards me. I saw his mouth move but the glass prevented the sound from travelling to my ears.

"Opening gas vents."

A deep purple gas started to fills both of the rooms my brother and I were in. As soon as the gas touched my pale skin, I felt all the air leave my lungs. I tried to take a deep breath to restore air into my body but it was as if someone had closed my windpipe. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Ashton facing the same life-threatening problem as I was, but with more difficulty since he was still strapped to the cold metal table.

"Ash-ton." I managed to heave with great difficulty and weakly hit my hand against the glass.

"You have two choices. Save yourself, or save Number 301?" The voice returned and I stared at the ceiling in disbelief. The decision was obvious to me, and I gathered enough strength to utter two words.

"Sa-ve A-sh-ton."

"Opening ventilation ducts." The gas started to disappear from Ash-ton's room and he started breathing normally again. Relief flooded through me as I attempted to take a gulp of air, barely any oxygen entering my lungs.

"You have failed your compulsory assessment."

I could barely process anything that was happening around me, it was all happening too fast. The gas in the room thickened and I found that I now couldn't breathe at all. All too quickly, my world had turned black.

~..~

I can't really explain how exactly the Enhancement Project can control people's minds, and it seems completely impossible. But then again, so would the very idea of the Enhancement Project to any other normal civilian. I had been through the mind control before, and let's just say that day wasn't pleasant. But today it caught me off-guard. I wasn't doing anything but sitting with my back against one of the pristine white walls of my cell, when my entire body went rigid.
The control over my own body was taken from me and I was forced to stand up. The door of my cell opens and I unwillingly step out. Lines upon lines of other inmates filled the narrow corridor I was in. Hope filled me for a split second as I thought that we were going to be released. Maybe the Enhancement Project had been discovered? Did the government order then to let us go?

Then why were we being controlled?

That single thought shot down my hopes. We wouldn't be controlled if we were being set free. I let my eyes wander around the hall and they caught sight of the black numbers on some of the inmate's wrists. I had woken up with mine after I had been knocked out by the purple gas a few years ago. The black ink on the wrist of the girl in front of me read a clear 300. The boy next to her was 301. My brown-eyed gaze fell down to my own wrist and the dark ink formed a 302. Several other prisons of the project joined the line directly behind me. All together, we entered a room with high ceilings and pale-coloured walls, which caused the red uniforms of the Screeners lining the walls, stand out incredibly.

We all get sorted by the group of scientists with their Airpads, some going left and others going right. The inmates in front of me slowly thin out, until I'm left facing the scientists who seem to be discussing what to do with me and the boy to my left. I don't catch any of their words from the thoughts racing through my head. I snap out of in when both I and the boy are directed to the right. The red Screeners don't bother to restrain us when we are forced to lie down onto a cold metal table and immediately get to work with their ink-filled syringes. One of the Screeners blot out the number on my wrist until I'm left with a rectangle of black ink instead of the 302 and the lingering thought of the pain it had caused.

My legs are forced to move and they direct me back to the hallway. Confusion takes over my mind as my cell comes back into view. I'm stationed in front of the closed doors just like everybody else.

"Congratulations, Subjects. You have been chosen to remain at the facility for further experimentation. You will remain here until you are deemed worthy to continue to part two of the Enhancement Project's experimentation. Changes have been made to your cellmate arrangement to ensure your cooperation."

The door of my cell opens and I walk in with the Project's control until the door closes behind me and I feel my own control come back to me. I blink several times while resting a hand on one of my cell's walls and finally open my eyes.

I freeze. The sight in front of me seems to set my brain on pause.

The familiar face was barely recognisable considering it had been years since I had last seen him, the dried blood and bruises only contributing to that factor.

Ashton.

Next is SciFy_  's short story:

Kyla POV:

I woke up to a blinding light and a damp room made of concrete. "Definitely not my room" I whispered to myself. I tried to sit up, but my legs and arms were strapped a metal gurney. I looked around the room and saw a door just a couple of feet from me. The door opened and a tall figure in a surgical mask walked in. He went over to a table covered in a plastic sheet that I hadn't seen, and took out a needle. The figure then went over to the wall and pressed his hand against it. Suddenly, the wall jutted out from its place and produced a jar of black liquid. The guy picked it up and filled the syringe with it then came over to me. His eyes were as grey as the walls. The man stabbed the syringe into my arm and released the black substance into my bloodstream. I didn't even have time to scream before darkness clouded my vision.

I woke up yet again, but this time standing. I tried to move my head to see where I was but I couldn't. I tried harder, and instead of my head moving, I gained a sharp pain in the back of my skull. Once I recovered, I used my eyes to look around rather than my head. There were about 400 other people standing in perfect lines as if they were the army. I saw a group of them rapidly blinking and looking about with quick, sharp movements. I realised that the only way I could move was by blinking, so that's what I did.

Soon after a man stepped onto a podium at the front of the hall. He was wearing a dark blue suit and a red tie, like all of the Government Officials.
"Now many of you are probably wondering why you are here," He spoke with a harsh voice.
"You have been selected by President Hybriad himself to become a new generation of soldiers. Soldiers that never disobey, are strong and always win. The project is to help build a stronger country. We have had trials of it but some subjects failed, and so were exterminated. 20 years on, and we have rebuilt it. Its name?" He paused as if to give the announcement more effect.

"The Enhancement Project."

Now for EBethy 's one-shot:

Marissa's POV (New character)

I woke up with a huge headache.  Where am I? I thought. All I remembered from before was being in my house and these people coming in and knocking my dad out. They must've knocked me out too, because then I woke up here. I sat up and looked around at where I was being kept. It was a small room with white walls and a small platform that I wasn't which must be my bed. Across the room there were two doors and one was slightly ajar. I got up and walked over to it. It turned out to be a closet with rows of shelves along the sides. One of the shelves had some white, V-neck shirts and navy sweatpants, and another had a pair of combat boots. I looked down at my own outfit. The white dress that I was wearing was soiled and torn to shreds and my shoes were cover in dirt and leaves. I grabbed an outfit and the boots and got dressed.

After getting dressed, I went over to the other door and looked it over. It  was made of metal and looked pretty solid. There was only one small slot in the bottom of the door and I had no clue of its use. I tried the handle. Locked. Damn it! I thought. But really, what had I been expecting? I was pretty much being held captive, why would they leave my door unlocked? The small slot suddenly rattled and a small tray came through. Of course! It must've been for food. I doubted they would've let me starve. I picked up the tray and inspected the contents. A brownish pile of what appeared to be beans sat in one corner and in the middle the was barbecued chicken wings.  Next to that was a heap of mashed potatoes. Well, at least the food looked good. I picked up the provided fork, scooped up some potatoes and beans, and took a tentative bite. The food was still warm and, lucky for me, didn't seem to be poisoned or drugged. Hooray. That's one good thing that's happened today.

I polished of the plate and set it by the door, then went to go sit down on my bed. Just as I sat down, three Screeners slammed open the door. I jumped up, then two of them grabbed my hands and held me between them. The third took off his helmet and I recognized him immediately. Commander Liad! The leader of the rebels!
"Marissa A. Hybriad," he said in a cool, collected tone. "Welcome to Pod 14." That was the last thing I remembered before I was hit in the back of the head and knocked unconscious.
