Chapter 1:

Ember's Point of view:

I threw the door to Sam's office wide open, my tail wagging behind me. My idea fresh in my mind, holding on to the piece of paper in my hand tightly.

When I entered the room, I caught everyone's attention.

Sam sitting at her desk with papers all around her, Asmodeus and Fizzarolli sitting in front of her.

"Hey Em!" Fizzarolli said, quickly standing up and hugging me tightly.

"Hey Fizzy." I said hugging him back.

Compared to me and Fizz, he was taller than me. He was 6'6 while I was 6'7, making me taller than him by an inch.

He let me go and looked at me, his hands holding my shoulders.

"How are you?" He asked, Asmodeus now standing behind him.

"I'm good, I've been working on those shadow spells in that book you gave me." I answered, staring into his eyes.

"And?" Asmodeus said from behind Fizz.

I sighed, looking at the ground before I looked back at Fizz.

"Getting better." I lied.

I was terrible, horrible, awful. I couldn't summon a shadow even if I was as strong as Lucifer himself.

Fizz's smile grew, while Asmodeus just let out a relived sigh.

"Great!" Fizz said, letting go of my shoulders and clapping his hands.

Asmodeus then started talking to Fizz about how I was "improving" and doing such a good job.

Before they continued I cleared my throat, getting their attention.

"Actually, if you two don't mind, I need to talk to Sam." I said pointing at Sam, who was just quietly looking at some papers.

She looked up at me, a surprised look on her face. She quickly stood up, placing her hands on her desk.

"Oh, um, ok. Asmodeus, Fizzarolli if you don't mind postponing this meeting?" she questioned, looking at my two father-like figures.

"No problem, and you can call me Ozzy sugar." Ozzy said, grabbing Fizz's hand.

Sam turned a light pink at the nickname, she blushed really easily. She still wasn't quite use to the idea of a man giving her random nicknames.

"And you can call me Fizz." Fizz butted in, sounding exited.

"Oh ok, um, well then." she pointed toward the door. "I'll call you later and schedule a time for the meeting."

The two men nodded, exchanging goodbyes, then left.

I quickly closed the door then turned back to Sam, who was now sitting back in her chair.

"You wanted to talk?" she asked.

I nodded quickly, my tail going back to wagging.

"Yes I do." I said.

I walked over toward her desk and slammed the crinkled piece of paper onto the desk.

She picked up the paper and looked at it, her reading glasses still on her face.

She looked at me, her eyebrows raised.

"The Happy Hotel?" she asked.

I could feel my smile grow.

"Yes." I answered, trying to hide my excitement.

"The same one that the Princess of Hell is in charge of?" she asked again, a curious and skeptical look on her face.

"Yes." I said again, my tail wagging violently behind me.

She sat the paper on her perfectly organized desk, leaning back in her chair.

"Ok spill." she said, crossing her arms.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm my excitement.

"Ok so you know how Ozzy and Fizz are training me to be a overlord." I started, looking down at my feet.

"Hmh" she hummed.

I could feel her intense gaze on me, which wasn't helping my nerves.

"Well let's just say that it's not going to well..." I said fidgeting with my fingers.

"Ok?" she said, more of a question.

"Well I haven't still haven't been able to summon one shadow. NOT ONE!" I shouted.

"But I though-" Sam started, but I quickly interrupted.

"I know. I lied ok?! I SUCK! I suck so much, that I put the sluts and whores to shame! Ok! That's how much I suck!" I yelled.

"Yikes." she said, a smile on her face.

I rolled my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm down.

"In other words, I'm learning as much as I want to. Which brings me to my proposition,"

Her smile disappeared, her face turning serious.

"I need a new teacher. Don't get me wrong, I love Ozzy and Fizz. They're like dads to me. But,...I think I could learn more from....a expert." I said, earning a confused look from Sam.

"Ok, but what does this have to do with the hotel?" she asked, her face unreadable.

"Well, I was looking into possible teachers and...I found one. And he...um...is at the hotel."

She just looked at me, looking even more confused. Then as if a switch was flipped, realization and anger covered on her face.

"No way! You are not doing that!" she shouted.

"But you didn't let me finish-"

"I don't need you to finish, I'm your best friend. I know what your thinking and the answer is no." she said sternly.

"But Alastor is the perfect teacher." I wined, pinning my dog ears on the side of my head.

"What makes him the 'perfect' teacher?" she asked, but I could still hear the annoyance in her voice.

"Because he can control shadows. And with him, I will finally be able to learn more about shadows. It only makes sense that I have a teacher who can teach me from experience. All we need to do is go over to the hotel and talk to him." I explained, patiently waiting for her answer.

She sighed, staring at me.

"Yes you do have a point," she began, hope filling inside my chest. "But, he's the Radio Demon. He's dangerous, and not to mention that he hates....dogs." she explained.

I could feel my blood boil when she said "dog", letting a growl escape my throat. She must've sense my anger because she quickly continued.

"Sorry, what I meant to say is that he doesn't like hellhounds."

I took a deep breath.

"Better." I said, calming down a little but that didn't stop me from letting out some of my anger, "But of course you would know wouldn't you?"

She quickly scoffed, crossing her arms.

"What is that suppose to mean?"

"It means that ever since we arrived in the hell-hole, you've been obsessed with the Radio Shit-Lord. Collecting newspaper clippings, posters, pictures anything you can get your hands on."

We both just stared at each other, both of our faces unreadable.

Suddenly we both snorted and stared laughing.

"I'm not obsessed." she said after our laughing fits started to die down.

"Oh are you sure about that?" I said, wiggling my eyebrows

She just rolled her eyes, before looking at me.

"Yes I'm sure, and I'm also sure that this whole thing could be dangerous. You know that don't you?" she asked, her smile gone.

"Yes I do know that." I said, holding my ground. "but I also know that I need a teacher who can teach me what I need to know."

She sighed, looking down at her perfectly organized desk.

I took a deep breath before I continued.

"So lets make a deal. We, all three of us, go to the hotel later today, and stay there. I ask The Radio Demon if he would teach me, and if he says no...then I'll drop it and we can walk away. However, the off chance that he does say yes, we will continue to stay at the hotel until I have fully mastered shadow manipulation. Deal?" I asked, staring at my friend.

She quickly looked up at me, a look of concern on her face.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

"If he says no, you'll drop it?" she asked, her yellow and red eyes staring into mine.

I nod, extending my hand.

"Do we have a deal?" I asked again, earning a smile.

One of Sam's abilities was binding, meaning she was good at negotiating and making deals. And her deals were very powerful, unbreakable even. So there was no going back.

Her smile grew mischievous as she stood up and grabbed my hand, her grip tight as she shook my hand.

"Deal."

Right as she said that  small word, the room grew dark, the only thing you could see was the bright red light that came from our hands. Sam's eyes now fully red, her toothy grin growing wider. It was terrifying seeing her like this, I would hate to see what she looks like in her full demon form.

Right when she let go of my hand, the room returned back to normal. Same with her eyes and smile.

"Kolos is in his room, you should go tell him about our arrangement. And when your done with that, please go ahead and start packing. When your done with that and everyone is ready, we can go ahead to the hotel." She explained, her tone going dark when she said "arrangement" which sent a chill down my spine.

I quickly nodded and ran out the door to Kolos's room.

I bit my lip, trying to hide the goofy grin on my face.

I knocked softly on the door, going into the room when I heard him say come in.

When I entered the room, Kolos's armor was sitting on his bed while he was grabbing a shirt from a basket. My eyes went to his perfectly defined bare chest, as he just continued to put his shirt on. His dragon like wings were showing-which he usually hid under his shirt-, his lizard like tail was perfectly hidden in his pants, his long horns rested on the side of his temples. Some might think that it is strange for a hellhound and dragon demon to be dating, but I think it's the exact opposite. I think we're perfect for each other.

When I looked up, Kolos was giving me a smug grin.

"Like what you see?" he said in his sexy, low, husky voice that I could listen to all day.

"Maybe." I said back, returning his grin with one of my own.

He chuckled,  pulling his shirt down before he slowly walking toward me.

My smile growing when he stood in front of me, has hands now resting on my lower back.

"Hey~" he said, using his flirty tone, making me blush hard.

"Hi." I squeaked.

I cussed at myself, for not being able to sound more confident.

He chuckled and kissed me, right in between my ears.

"So how was your day?" I asked, placing my hands on his hard chest.

"Better now that your here, babe." he said kissing my head again.

"Ok what's wrong?" I asked, knowing that he said that after he had a bad day.

He sighed, looking back at me. His emerald green eyes staring into mine, the light hitting his perfectly making them shine.

"Ok, I had a bad day. But I'm just happy that I get to come home and see you everyday." he said, making my heart sing.

"Yeah, yeah." I said, rolling my eyes.

He chuckled softly, he pulled me into a tight hug, his head resting on mine. I wrapped my arms around his torso, my head laying on his chest.

"I have something to tell you." I said, rubbing circles on his back.

"Your breaking up with me." he said.

I quickly looked up at him, seeing the teasing look in his eyes. I hit his arm and rolled my eyes, causing him to laugh.

"No, we're going to that Happy Hotel in a while. Me and Sam made a deal and everything."

He gave me a confused look.

"Why?" he asked.

I took a deep breath before I continued.

"I need to learn how to manipulate shadows but I need a better teacher than a clown and a rooster who know nothing about shadow magic. I mean no offence to them, but I need a better teacher." I explained, staring at Kolos's shirt, not wanting to look into his eyes.

"Ok." was all he said, almost a whisper which was comforting.

"I found one and he is...dangerous. And I know what your going to say when I tell you who he is, you'll just tell me that I shouldn't and that it isn't a good idea. And you'd be right, but I need you to trust me ok?" I looked up at him, his face was full with concern.

"Ember...your scaring me." he said, in a half joking kind of way.

"I'm serious, I'm going to ask the Radio Demon if he can teach me how to use my shadow abilities." I said quickly.

His eyes went wide, his mouth gaping about to say something before I cut him off.

"Before you try to stop me, which you can't, Sam and I already made a deal. We go there, stay a while, I ask him and if he says no then I'll back off." I explained, my nerves going crazy.

He sighed, looking at the ground before looking back at me. We stood like that for a while, just us staring at each other.

After what felt like forever, he took a deep breath and spoke.

"I wish you have talked to me before you made a deal with Sam." he started in almost a whisper.

"But, I do understand where you are coming from. I support you and your decisions. But next time you want to make a unbreakable deal with Sam, come talk to me about it first. Ok?" he finished, his expression unreadable.

I looked at him dumbfounded.

"Your not mad?" I asked.

He sighed, rubbing my back slowly.

"No, not mad. Just a little sad you didn't talk to me first. But I trust you."

I nodded, looking down at the ground. I understood what he meant. He hated being in the dark I know that, I should've told him.

"But," he started again, grabbing my chin and making me look up at him, "if that Radio Demon says anything to upset you, hell, if he even touches you. I will kill him." he said, his voice getting all demonic.

To some, that would have been scary. But to me, that what the hottest thing that he has ever done. I mean that turned me on and everything.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"Babe, you may be strong, but your not that strong." I said, looking up at his beautiful green eyes.

He chuckled.

"Yeah your right. But that will not stop me from kicking his ass." he said, a teasing light in his eyes.

"You have a death wish."

"So will he if he messes with my girlfriend."

I couldn't help but laugh. I laughed so hard that I could feel the tears in my eyes.

"I'm glad that I amuse you." was all he said, chuckling with me.

"Yes you do." I said, after I finished my laughing fit.

We were silent for a moment, only a moment. Just staring into each others eyes.

"God I love your eyes." we both say in sync, causing us to laugh again.

After we were done laughing, Kolos placed his hand on my cheek, petting it softy.

"Your so beautiful." he said softly, his finger running across my bottom lip.

We then leaned into each other, meeting each other half way. While I had to go on my tiptoes to reach him

When our lips met, it was like fireworks were being set off in my heart.

His lips and mine moving in perfect sync, just like every time before.

My hands running through his ocean blue hair. His right hand on the back of my neck, while his left was tight around my waist.

I loved kissing Kolos, it's as if time just stops.

His kiss intense but soft at the same time. I opened my mouth ever so slightly, allowing for his tongue to find mine. His tongue moving all around my mouth

He tasted amazing. Like mint and coffee, my two new favorite flavors.

Just as we continued to make out, the sound of someone clearing their throat filled the room.

Me and Kolos stopped kissing and looked over at the door. Sam standing in the doorway, a smug grin on her face.

"I hope I'm not interrupting anything, but Kolos you need to pack. Oh and I went ahead and packed everything for you, Ember." she smiled again before she left the room.

My face still red, I looked at Kolos who was still trying to catch his breath.

"I'll be right back." I said, breathless.

He only nodded, letting me go. I followed after Sam, who was now waiting by the front door her phone in hand.

"Your just jealous that I have a boyfriend that I can kiss whenever." I snapped at her, getting her attention.

She put her phone in her pocket, giving me another smug grin.

"I didn't say anything." she said, putting her hands up in defense.

I growled, the smell of smoke filling the air. I look at my tail, which was smoking. I grab it and blew the small flames out before it got to out of hand.

"Whatever. You know that I'm right." I said, walking over toward my room.

"Real mature, Ember." she said from behind me.

I turned and stuck my tongue out, before I went into my room.

Just like she said, my suitcase was on my bed. When I opened it, it was perfectly organized.

I angrily messed all the stuff that was perfectly put in place. After I was done with that, I gave a satisfied no and closed my suitcase. After I was done with that I grabbed my suitcase and left my room, walking into the living room.

Kolos and Sam were already there waiting.

"You done babe?" Kolos asked, giving me one of his signature smiles..

I nodded and looked at Sam, who was looking at her phone.

"You ok Sam?" I asked, giving her a worried look.

She nodded and looked up from her phone and up at me.

"So how will we be getting there?" Sam asked, giving me and Kolos a questioning look.

Me and Kolos exchanged a sly grin, reading each other's mind.

"Teleportation." I said giving her a smug look.

Her eyes went wide, her mouth opening just as she was about to argue, Kolos's green eyes turned red his hand as well. He gestured toward the floor right under us, making a big portal.

All Sam could do was scream, as we fell down into the portal. Appearing in front of a big building.
