Sleeping like in heaven

James' breath was calm and even. Sherlock, however, couldn't sleep.
He was thinking.

Was it the right decision?
Disappointing them all?
Following James?
He wouldn't be able to see his friends again.

The consulting detective sighed.

Was it worth it?

"Stop thinking. Then you can finally sleep and so can I."
Sherlock didn't move, just replied: "You should take your own advice."
Without looking at him, he knew Jim was grinning. "Touchée."
Sherlock moved his hand a little and carefully reached for the hand of his bed-mate.
After a while, James quietly said: "I didn't think you were really jumping. I thought you were faking your death."
"That's what I was going to do. Only it felt hypocritical after you died."
"Are we getting sentimental, Sherly?"
"I just said what I thought. I play fair." After that it was quiet for a while.

James laughed softly.
"Somehow I imagined the afterlife differently. It's..." "A good alternative to the ideas of the living?"
"Yeah, I expected it to be a lot worse. But the fact that you are not classified into good or bad was unexpected."

James shrugged his shoulders and added critically: "I'm not sure if heaven is for me."
Sherlock had to smile and replied in the same tone: "You can go to hell at any time. They need someone qualified to tell them where to go."
After a short pause he added cautiously: "I would follow you anywhere."

The Consulting Criminal turned his head to Sherlock.
All fun was gone from his face.

"What if I don't want that?
You have already followed me to my death.
When I go to hell, I want you not to follow me. I want you to accompany me. "
And with that he brought their lips together into a gentle kiss.
