My essay:

The graph compares the proportion of tourists visiting 4 Brighton types of attractions, namely art gallery, pavilion, pier and festival in Britain over the course of 30 years starting in 1980.

Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that the percentage of people paying a visit to pavilion and pier see an increase while that of visitors to art gallery and festival declined. While in the first year studied, festival was the most attractive to tourists among 4 groups, pavilion became the attraction with the highest number of visitors in the year 2010.

In 1980, 10% of tourists chose to visit Brighton piers. This figure more than doubled in 2010 after showing some steady changes throughout the studied period. The proportion of visitors to pavilions also witnessed an upward trend, which soared to reach a peak at shy of 50% in 1995 before declining to approximately 30% in the last year of the graph.

Art gallery was the third most frequented attraction in 1980 with over 20% of tourists went there. This percentage leaped to reach its highest level in 1985 before falling sharply to under 10% in 2010. A downward trend was also witnessed in the group of festival, where the proportion of tourists visiting this attraction showed marginal changes and stood at 28% at the end of the period.
