{Yusei's PoV}
I groaned and rubbed my eyes after staring at my computer screen for hours. Maybe I should get those special glasses with the blue filter... With a loud yawn I got up from my desk and left the room. God... how late is it? It's already dark... Guess I got lost in work again... A look in the fridge told me I should be okay with some scrambled eggs and toast for dinner. So I started to prepare just that. While the eggs cooked in the pan I gave at the clock over the window. 9:17 pm... why do I feel like I forgot something? Mm... probably not important...

Once I had my dinner ready and on a plate I sat down at the dinner table with my phone. When I turned it on I immediately got bombarded with notifications.

Jack: Okay. I managed to get 10 minutes off earlier! Are you two ready?

Jack: Hello?

Jack: Yusei is everything okay?

Jack: You are usually never late...

Jack: Yus it's been 25 minutes... where are you?

Jack: YUSEI! LOOK AT YOUR PHONE DAMM IT!

Jack: Oh forget it. I don't have time for this. Just write me later so I don't call the police on your ass for disappearing.

Shit... I completely forgot the video chat with Jack! God I'm so stupid! With a quick press of the button I called him... but he didn't pick up. I called again... and a third time... and then he finally picked up.

"What do you want?"

"Jack! I'm so sorry! I lost track of time and..."

"Oh shut it. I don't need your excuses."

"But Jack. I really am..."

"Yeah yeah. You always say that. I was really looking forward to this... to see you again after all this time. And what do you do? You don't even show up. You ignore me. Again. For your stupid work."

"Jack it's important work."

"I know that! I know how important that fucking thing you are working on is! But you are overdoing it! Face it Yusei, you try to make up for what your father did, but you are leaving every single person that cares about you behind for it! When was the last time you actually called one of your friends! Yami doesn't count! He's your fucking neighbor! Oh, even better question! When was the last time you called mom?! You are a wreck Yusei! I barely recognize you anymore!"

"J-jack... please..."

"Save it! I'm sick of it! We are trying our best to keep in touch with you! And you keep brushing us off! Yusei I denied a dinner with Carly tonight just so I can talk with you! Just so I hear your voice again and see your face and even meet that Neko you got yourself!"

"I... I'm..."

And he hung up. I dropped the phone onto the kitchen table and started sobbing. Fuck... what have I done? Am I really that horrible of a son... a brother... even a friend? He's right... I'm such a wreck... a mistake... Jaden... where is he? Does he think about me like that too? My sobs only got louder at the thought of that. Even the person who moved in a few days ago already hates me... why am I like this?!

I don't know for how long I just laid with my head on the table and cried... but it was long enough for my whole body to hurt from it... my eyes burn from all the tears... and I have no more left to cry... apart from the pain... I feel completely numb. Empty. Lonely...

Suddenly a slight tug on my sleeve caught my attention. "Y-yusei?" Jaden's shaking voice sounded so... concerned... yet absolutely terrified at the same time. "What?" "W-why are you crying?" "Because I messed up... with Jack... in fact... why didn't you come and get me when we were supposed to call him?!" Sudden anger bubbled up inside me. He probably heard the calls! And he saw the clock on the wall! He should have gotten me in time! "I... I thought you..." "That I what?! Now Jack is mad at me and won't listen! And it's your fault!"

His ears folded back against his head as he started shaking. "I.. I didn't mean to... I..." "I don't care anymore! Get lost! Leave me alone!" "B-but Yusei..." "LEAVE!" Then silence. Complete silence, except for Jaden's soft crying. When I realized what I had done, it was already too late. "J-jaden... I... I didn't mean to..." "No... this i-is an appro-opriate punishment f-for what I did..." He shakily got up from the ground and holds his cheek. The cheek that now bares my handprint on it... "I'm s-sorry for n-not fo-ollowing my ta-asks... M-master... I'll leave..."

"No. Jaden wait." But it was too late. He bolted to the door and left. And there was nothing I could do about it. "Jaden..." How could I... how could I do something so horrible to him... after everything he has been through... I'm such an idiot... "Please... come back..." The apartment was dead silent. Only my now returning sobs could be heard.

"P-please... Jaden... you are everything I have left... don't leave me..."
