I had every intention of ripping the pup from my mate's arms if that's what it took to get the rogue filth further away from him but the way his wolf challenged me had me stumped, my father and Alic included.

I knew I'd pay a pretty price for my Jaidan's disobedience. It was a price I'd pay I concluded as I watched the little pup wriggle against Jaidan's white fur for warmth, my mate's body curling tighter around the little lump.

The pup continued to wriggle until it's head rested against Jaidan's stomach, his paws coming up to push at his stomach almost massaging him as he whimpered, and that's when I realised he was trying to nurse from him.

My wolf quickly stood to attention to remove the suckling pup, a small growl emanating from beside me as my mouth was about to grab for the pup's scruff causing me to back off as my mate stood up to gently push the pup off and nuzzle it.

As Jaidan fussed over it, I could see the wounds had started to close together nicely, his blonde fur contrasting the deep red of dried blood that had crusted along the barely sealed wounds.

He was indeed going to grow into an omega.

Testing Jaidan's boundaries, I took slow steps closer, not wanting to cause my mate distress. His ears started twitching and his body tensed for a moment before seemingly relaxing again but I could see his eyes calculating me, trying to figure out how this situation could go.

I could take the pup from him and destroy it in front of him, the way any rogue should be destroyed. Mercilessly and without regret, like watching a bird rip a worm from the soil.

I could take it from him and throw it back to where it had been found, give it back to its own kind to do with as it pleased, like throwing rubbish to a bin.

My decision had been made for me when Jaidan used his nose to push the pup towards me, his head raising, trusting me fully with this pup he was willing to take on an Alpha for.

My eyes fell on the pup as it shook his head at the sudden nudge, his brown eyes raising until they saw me, catching me off guard when his little tail started wagging and his body started hopping along the furs like sand dunes trying to get closer to me.

Instinctively, my wolf backed up from the incoming pup as to not have it come barrelling into my body, wanting to be nowhere near this tiny rogue.

I was huffing, impatient as this dance continued on until I caught sight of my mate still sitting in his spot, his eyes looking like they were laughing at me.

All of a sudden there was a bump into my legs, a little blonde furry head shaking off the attack before his tongue rolled out of his mouth, panting for attention, a small bark chirping from him before he went running back towards Jaidan.

''Aww look at the happy family.'' The familiar teasing tone of my uncle broke our trance, my head snapping to the doorway as I watched him and Charlie enter the room.

I quickly shifted into my human form, grabbing a pair of pants as Charlie's immaturity took over and he fake vomited telling me to cover up my 'goods'.

''Get out.'' I growled, making my way over to Jaidan who had his head facing anywhere but me.

They silently left as I gestured for Jaidan to shift.

I watched every moment as the pale fur receded back into his body, skin slowly taking over and platinum hair growing from his head, his body hunched over and shaking from the after effects of his shift before he stood quickly facing the other way, red cheeks flaring causing me to grin.

His innocence stumped me to no end even though he had no problem instigating sex with another man. My mind quickly correcting itself to me being the only man he would ever instigate sex with.

''You're glaring.'' Jaidan, fully clothed, wrapping a small pup in his arms whispered, as the ball of fur squirmed to see what was wrong with his carer as his eyes turned sad.

With quick strides I made my way over to capture his lips in possession. He quickly fell into a rhythm with me, one arm latching onto my bicep as he held the pup tightly with his other one, careful for it to not fall as it pawed at me for some attention too.

He tasted like heaven as I quickly dominated his mouth, his submission sending pleasurable shivers rippling through my muscles, his tongue massaging mine gently as my hands held the back of his neck firmly

I pulled away with a final soft kiss to his lips as he chased mine before snapping out of a daze, he turned to the pup to center his attention away from me. It was as if he was saying we had an audience and it was a no no. I'd take him and ravish him in front of all four packs to show them all he was mine. I didn't care about a crowd but, I could tell my Angel would sooner beat me to death.

As much as I'd love to see his cheeks flushed even redder, we had to sort out this situation that was whining louder and louder in my mate's arms.

''He's hungry.'' Charlie stated as we walked out of the room clearly avoiding looking at the pup.

''Take him to one of the nursing mothers.'' Alic was on the pup in seconds petting it and scratching under its chin, its tail hitting Jaidan happily over and over again.

Jaidan looked up at me a small smile plastered on those plump, pink lips of his as he looked between the pup and Alic's cooing.

I sighed and took hold of Jaidan's arm to direct him to where the nursing mothers would usually hang around. I was hoping Jaidan wouldn't grow any more attached to this wolf but from the loving glances he was sending the pup's way and the way he was proudly showing it off to Alic, it was going to be hard to strip him of it.

The familiar sound of pups barking and yipping, playing together started drowning our ears, mothers gossiping in the background as toddlers and older kids sat around colouring or play fighting.

''Jai Jai!'' Two young girls screamed upon our entrance and engulfed Jaidan in a bear hug.

'' And what about me?''

''Ally!'' The screamed again as they tried to wrap their little arms around his thick legs, his hands patting their heads roughly as he messed up their hair.

''Did you have a puppy Jai Jai?'' Savannah's hazel eyes looked at the pup in his arms and then turned confused to Jade who shrugged her shoulders. ''I thought Jai Jai was a boy?''

''I am a boy.'' Jaidan sputtered as he looked at the girls who considered the possibility he may, in fact, be a girl.

I couldn't help the chuckle that escaped me at his panic before Savannah and Jade's mothers came over and pulled their daughter away from us.

''It's a rogue! Don't go near it.'' Savannah's mother scolded and sneered at the pup.

Jade's mother nodded in approval as they turned their noses up.

Jaidan's eyes turned sad as he sheltered the pup away from the scene as if he could protect it from the looks everyone was clearly giving not only the pup but us. It didn't take me long to notice the disapproving stares of every mother as they directed their children away.

My arm wrapped protectively around Jaidan's waist as I led him further into the room full of furs and play objects for children, small wooden tables littered around with pieces of paper and colourful drawing taped to the walls.

I couldn't exactly scold the mothers for teaching their children to not go near a rogue. They were dangerous, ruthless, without feelings. Having given into their wild side they wanted nothing but territory, spoils and war. It was just a pup, but to what point is that an excuse? At what point do you go from calling it an innocent pup to a bloodthirsty beast?

We happened upon a first-time mother of a 3-month-old baby boy with brown hair as it sucked on a pacifier happily in her lap, her name was Kelsey.

''Kelsey.'' Her eyes flashed to mine before lowering and nodding respectfully.

Kelsey was a timid woman, a submissive, low ranking wolf mated to a higher ranking dominant male who hunted frequently, Nathaniel.

''Nate isn't around.'' She lifted her eyes and studied our small group before her eyes fell to the pup in Jaidan's arms, her body twisting slightly away to shield her baby without being rude.

''I was looking for you.'' I studied her expression as her face turned worried.

''Did I do something wrong?''

''No, I was going to ask if you'd do us the favour of nursing this young pup for a while?''

It wasn't unusual for a nursing mother to take on a pup if the biological mother couldn't produce milk, was too exhausted or if unfortunately the mother died, or turned rogue.

Her eyes looked between the pup, Jaidan and me before leaning slightly away from them and whispering to me as if to not offend my mate.

''It's a rogue... and an omega.'' The word omega slipped out quieter as she glanced at Jaidan.

He clearly caught the words as his body tensed but he schooled his features as so no one could see the hurt in his eyes at the way she said the word.

I had to reign my wolf in as it barked in disapproval at the way the word was supposed to mean the wolf wasn't worth keeping as if my mate was worth just as much.

''Tate. Alpha wants to see you.'' Dustin quickly entered the room and stood to my side, Charlie clearly disapproving of his appearance in the room.

A heavy breath left my body as I sighed and stared at Kelsey, my eyes hardening as she played with her baby's hand uncaring of the fret in Jaidan's eyes at the possibility that the pup wouldn't find a surrogate mother.

''It was an order. Jaidan give her the pup, if she refuses to feed it, she can take its place in exile.'' With that, I exited the room, the mothers looking horrified at the idea of being exiled into rogue territory with winter around the corner.

It was looking to be a cold, unforgiving winter.
