Sophie's POV

"Omg... I still can't believe it! We are allowed to have ice cream???!!" Biana squealed.

Sophie sighed. "Yes, Biana! I already told you this for the hundredth time. And stop squealing. I don't think even obscurers could hide your high-pitched squeal."

Sophie looked around to see if anyone had heard Biana. It was a bit cloudy outside and it was summer so... They missed the sun. She watched the few people who were at the park right now. Some were jogging, some were too concentrated on their phones. But nobody noticed them because they were hiding under the obscurer.

They were wearing elven clothes after all. Sure, no one would mind, but they wanted as little attention as possible.

They actually had planned to come to the park at 11 a.m. but here they were, at 10:45 a.m. because Biana had insisted that they needed to buy an ice cream "for energy so if we need to fight we are fully energized".

But... they could still eat ice cream while talking to Annabeth and her friends...

Keefe seemed to have read her mind. "Biana, I think we could eat ice cream while talking to Annabeth and her friends. They'll be here in about 15 minutes anyway."

"I agree with Keefe." Dex interfered. "And I've also "borrowed" some money from the ATM (Guys this is what the money machine thingy is called right...? You know because English is not my mother tongue...) so we are ready to buy ice cream as soon as they are here. Is this enough or do we need more?" Dex asked.

He held up a HUGE bundle of money in his hands.

"That's actually more than we would need, but yes, that's enough, Dex." Sophie said. "But anyway, here's the plan guys. So at first, we approach them within the reach of our obscurer so that they won't be able to see us. We will observe them. See what they are like. After that we will tell them that we are there. They won't be able to see us because of the obscurer so we will tell them to come within the range of the obscurer. And we can also ask them to buy the ice cream for us since they will probably be dressed in human clothes and we are here in elven clothes and the members of Team Valiant are even wearing there circlets. Soooo.... Is everone ok with this plan?"

They all said "Yes".

Fitz was the one to speak up after that. "Ummm... Sophie? Is that them?"

Sophie looked behind and saw Annabeth and a bunch of other teenagers she had never seen before.

Annabeth's POV

Annabeth had a plan. They had all agreed to use the Pegasi in Camp Jupiter but she wanted to be unnoticed from Sophie and her friends.

She wanted to observe them first.

And since she knew that Sophie could see through the Mist, she had suggested that they would land a few blocks away from the park and walk into the park, as unnoticed as possible.

"Guys, why aren't they here yet?" Nico asked. "It's already 11."

"Maybe they are late?" Annabeth suggested.

"You told us that this Sophie spoke to you in your head, right? What if you really imagined it, Annabeth?" Sam asked.

"I didn't imagine it!" Annabeth gritted her teeth. "How often should I assure you all. It was real. She really spoke to me. Don't ask me how she did that, but she did it and that counts."

But, in reality, Annabeth was just trying to convince herself.

What if she had really imagined it?

But just then, she felt a sudden heat near her.

All of them must've felt it, so they all pointed their swords at the same time at the heat source. But they couldn't see anything.

"Oh, you've sensed us? Well, you all must be very aware of the surroundings here, because no one should notice us right now. We are trying to stay hidden, you know?" The voice chuckled.

And this voice sounded familiar.

"Sophie...?" Annabeth asked carefully but she still didn't lower her sword even though the voice sounded nice and kind.

"Yep! It's my friends and me. But you can't see us right now because we are hidden. You need to come a little closer towards the heat rays you are feeling right now. Only then you can see us all. This could also be a little trust exercise, you know. I promised you that we wouldn't do any harm to you, didn't I? We could've taken you out within ten seconds but we didn't. But lower your swords before you come near or else you will pierce us, you know?"

So they all lowered their swords a little bit and reluctantly stepped a few steps forward and suddenly...

... they could see a lot of people inside the invisible wall.

And they all looked like teenagers.

All of them looked somehow like models who usually walk on the red carpet in their free time.

And her jaw almost touched the ground.

Annabeth was sure all of their jaws almost touched the ground.

But they were wearing funny clothes...

"Are those real diamonds?" Was the only thing that came to her mind.

"Of course they are!" The brunette girl sounded offended. She looked younger than Annabeth. But then the brunette girl's expression softened a bit and she said: "My name's Biana."

"Hi, Biana. Nice to meet you. And hi, Sophie." Annabeth turned to Sophie.

"Hey Annabeth. Hey Percy." Sophie greeted back. "And these are my friends. I see you've brought your friends too. But we could introduce ourselves while eating ice cream?" Sophie suggested.

They all shrugged so Sophie continued. "Cool! But you all need to buy it for us though. We can't step out of our invisibility wall. That would scare everyone."

"Umm... But we don't have enough money for us to buy ice cream for all of us..." Percy answered.

"Don't worry! My best friend, Dex, has enough money to buy ice cream for all of us. You don't need to spend your money. You trusted us and came here. We buy you all ice cream. 50-50!" Sophie smiled.

"Fine... We all will buy you ice cream. But which flavour do you want?" Annabeth replied.

"Oh, don't worry. But... May I enter your mind?"

"I'm sorry???!!!"

"Oh, sorry. I forgot. I'm a telepath. I can read your minds and communicate with you telepathically. So can I enter your mind? Then I can tell you telepathically which flavours we all want."

Annabeth studied Sophie's face for any signs that she was just joking. She didn't find any so she just told: "Sure... But we need the money." She reminded Sophie.

A strawberry-blonde haired boy held up a staple of dollars that could be worth a fortune and Annabeth seriously wondered why her jaw hadn't already detached from her head and had fallen on the ground.

Seriously, how rich were these guys?

They wore diamonds on their everyday clothes!

But she didn't ask anything.

So Annabeth and her friends stepped out of the IW (Invisible wall) and walked casually towards the ice cream shop.

They all ordered the ice creams they wanted first and after that, Sophie started to tell them which flavours they wanted telepathically and they bought it with the money Sophie had given them.

The ice cream seller eyed all of them because they ordered sooo much ice cream but didn't refuse to give them ice cream. Probably because he was going to receive so much money.

They handed over the ice cream Sophie and her friends had ordered to them and stepped inside the IW again.

Sophie and her friends took a spoonful of ice cream and all closed their eyes for a moment and enjoyed the ice cream as if they had never eaten ice cream before.

"I haven't eaten ice cream since two years, Annabeth. That's why we are enjoying it so much, you know?" A teal-eyed boy answered as if he had read her thoughts. He probably had, just like Sophie had done it before. "My name's Fitz by the way."

"Hi." Annabeth answered.

"Seriously, what kind of powers do you all have?" Reyna asked.

"Um... I can't show it to you here. But I trust you. Don't break my trust." Sophie replied.

Sophie then waited for their confirmations and after they told her, that they wouldn't break her trust, she nodded and closed her eyes.

A few seconds later, they heard a loud bang and she saw a cut in the air in front of her.

Behind it was only darkness.

"I opened a cut in the void to teleport us to my house. There, I can explain to you everything. Follow me." Sophie said. "And all of you: hold each others hands. You need to stick together, if you want to make it out alive out of the void. If you want to teleport safely, follow what I say."

Annabeth knew she was crazy for agreeing to Sophie and following her.

But she really wanted answers.

And she had a gut feeling that this wasn't a trap.

So all of them held hands, formed a line and stepped into the void.
