Durga Prasad sat down with the entire family for breakfast next morning. He called everyone's attention to himself.

"I made a decision last night. I am going to resign from the company as the CMD and Sanskar will be taking over. I have already spoken to all the board of directors; they agree with my decision" he announced

There were widely varying reactions around the table hearing this. From joy on the face of Uttara, Sujata and Ram, also because the battle seem to have ended, to confused expressions on the faces of Ragini, Parineeta, Adarsh, Swara, who was now looking wildly between her husband and Bade Papa unclear if this was really it, to worry etched on the face of Annapurna and anger on Laksh's face. The only two people calm in this entire episode where Sanskar and Durga Prasad.

"Sanskar! What did you do?" Laksh screamed charging towards Sanskar.

"Laksh!" Durga Prasad bellowed to reign in his son

"Papa, you cannot give into him! I cannot let him do this to us!" Laksh exclaimed

"No one can make me do anything, Laksh. I make my decisions and I have made this one" Durga Prasad said sternly, reprimanding Laksh with his look

"I cannot see this happen!" Laksh wasn't to be calmed down

"Then do not come to the boardroom. I will be putting in my resignation from the role and transferring my control to Sanskar, today. I wanted this to only be in the presence of the family, which is why I had spoken to the board beforehand." Durga Prasad stated.

Laksh stormed off. Ragini following behind him worried.

"May be you should have broken the news a bit more gently" Annapurna added tentatively, stopping from adding anything further when he gave her a stern look.

Durga Prasad was in the boardroom, assuming his usual throne, while Ram Prasad, Adarsh and Sanskar took their own seats as well. Laksh was missing from the room. Mr Das was standing next to Durga Prasad.

"Are all the necessary papers ready?" Durga Prasad asked Mr Das. Mr Das nodded and handed them over. "Very well. You can leave now Mr Das"

Mr Das was about to leave with Laksh stormed into the boardroom, banging the doors open. He went towards Durga Prasad "Dad! You cannot do this!" He blurted angrily.

Swara was putting some of Sanskar's clothes away in the wardrobe when Ragini came running to her. She was scared and almost losing it

"Swara! Laksh!"

"Ragini, what happened? Calm down. Wait let me get some water for you" Swara offered, trying to get some for her water.

Ragini stopped her, shaking her head "There is no time for it. Laksh. He...he was really angry after the announcement. He...he"

"What happened Ragini? Tell me, tell me now!" Swara said getting really worried

"He left for the meeting. He .....he is really angry and he has a .....a gun with him!" Ragini blurted crying

Swara's eyes widened hearing this, she rushed out of the room "Sanskar!". Ragini followed her out.

"Laksh. We have spoke about this before. Nothing you say will change my mind" Durga Prasad explained firmly.

Laksh was beyond frustrated now. "You!" he said screaming and going towards Sanskar "You have caused all this. You want to destroy Papa. I know you have forced him to do this. I am not going to spare you"

"Don't be childish Laksh" Sanskar replied annoyed

"Childish! Childish! Do I look childish to you! Well this is not childish!" He shouted pulling a gun out and pointing it at Sanskar.

"Laksh!" Durga Prasad bellowed "Put it down!"

Ram had stood up in his seat, shocked. Mr Das was shaking in fear. Adarsh staring at Laksh and the gun in his hand. Sanskar remained calm in his seat, though vigilant. Laksh hadn't moved a bit.

"No! I am going to make him pay, now!" Laksh screamed

Durga Prasad stood up now "Laksh!" he screamed with great power "Put it down! NOW!"

Laksh stayed where he was, pointing the gun at Sanskar for a moment, before letting out a big scream and banging the gun on the table. He moved towards the wall closest to him and punched it hard to take out his anger and frustration at the situation. But so great was his anger that he didn't really realize the pain carousing through his hand just then.

Durga Prasad sat down on his chair again, giving Laksh a disappointed look. "You can leave now, Mr Das" he said. Mr Das taking this opportunity, ran out of the room.

Durga Prasad took the papers out, read through them once and had just begun signing them, when they were pulled from his hand and slewed all over the room.

"What is the meaning of this?" Durga Prasad asked angrily

"I should be the one asking you that! What is the meaning of this? How can you give my inheritance to him! How can you give away something that rightfully belongs to me!" He screamed

"Have you lost your mind?" Durga Prasad questioned

"No! I have finally come to my senses. I have had enough of your non-sense. I am not taking it anymore!"

Durga Prasad gave him a stern look, but didn't speak

"You were never a good father! Never! You were always a mentor and he" he said pointing angrily to Sanskar "your one great prodigy. You didn't see anything in front of this. Always into strategy. Never into relationships. You made me feel like a disappointment, but, I am not the disappointment, you are!"

He let out a snort

"All through my life, all you saw was his intelligence! Well, what about my intelligence? You saw his innovative ways! Never my persistence!"

"What..." Ram Prasad tried to cut in

"No! You are not going to stop me today. No one is. He doesn't understand the meaning of brother" he went back to looking at his father "You! You are the one who turned brothers into enemies. You made me hate him"

He looked at Sanskar for a second before turning his sight back at his father.

"I did everything for you! Everything! Do you know the lengths to which I went for you! To please you!"

He gave a painful laugh

"I tried to destroy Sanskar. I did everything to make him lose face in front of you." He looked at Sanskar with a mocking smirk "Did you really think Kavita just happened in your life? No! I made her happen. She was the innocent looking orphan with a sinister mind. She committed a fraud in my friend's office. She was all too ready to help me for some money"

"But what did you do?" He snapped at Durga Prasad "You, the great Durga Prasad, who doesn't give anyone a second chance, gave him one and asked him to stop meeting her! Well he didn't! But you ignored it"

"But you made things easy for me" He said looking at Sanskar "trying to elope. But Kavita had to mess things up. She wanted you, but she wanted the Maheshwari name and the property more. Threatened to expose me in front of Papa to get herself accepted!" there was menace in his look now "She had to go and I timed it right so that you were out of the house finally too, Sanskar"

"Did you see what you made me do Papa?" he screamed at Durga Prasad "You turned me into a killer. But don't worry, I did it all using your name!"

Durga Prasad had a grim look hearing this. Ram Prasad sank in his chair mentally exhausted.

"Everything was finally well. I thought Papa would finally give me my rights, but then you had to come back!" he spat at Sanskar "You had to destroy everything again!"

"I had to go back to my bad ways! I was the one who helped Ragini with the drugs to frame you, Sanskar. But no one bothered investigating it! I was the one who planted that bomb!" his frustration evident on his face now "But I had to get you out of it. You played your complicated holdings game again on your Maheshwari stake!" He shook his head in annoyance. "You made sure it would never get in our hands if something happened to you"

"The two of you think you are the master strategists!" he said looking at his father and at Sanskar "Well, I was playing you for years and neither of you could even realize it!" He laughed again picking up the gun on the table "Your luck wont last now!" he added pointing the gun at Sanskar

The boardroom doors banged open again and Swara rushed in followed by Ragini "Sanskar!" she called out, but came to an abrupt stop looking at the gun. Both Swara's and Ragini's eyes widened in fear.

Sanskar rose out of his chair cautiously, raising his hands up a bit to show that he didn't pose a risk "Adarsh Bhaiyaa, this doesn't need to go down like this. I am willing to sign over the stake to you. Let's end this here" he added trying to slowly move towards Swara, but stopping immediately when Adarsh pointed the gun a bit more at him.

"You are going to hand it over!" Adarsh said laughing maniacally "I don't need you to do anything anymore. You have done enough, now it is my turn!"

"Please Adarsh Bhaiyaa" Sanskar reasoned quietly "They haven't done anything to you. Let them leave. We will do what you want" he said looking at Swara and Ragini.

Laksh who was till now in shock, by the turn of events, was finally coming out of it. He was still standing by the wall.

"You kept me away from what I wanted. From what was mine" Adarsh said looking at Sanskar "Now I wont let you have what you want either" he added pointing the gun at Swara.

He fired two shots in quick succession

"Swara!"

"Ragini! No!"
