Chapter Three: Backyard Party
Yvette's POV
There's always a first for everything. Three days ago, I received my latest victim, Suga. I needed to think this through. I need to plan this accordingly if I don't want to get killed. I waited for information. Anything to help.
"Are you sure you don't want me to come?" Jimin said walking you to the door. Tonight was the night I named "50/50". Half chance of death, and half chance of surviving. It was also the night Suga hosted a drug party. It was open to anyone to come. Anyone meaning me, his murderer.
"I'm fine Jimin. If things go south, I'll be out of there quicker than you think." I lied. I had to kill him. Whether it meant taking me down with him. If I didn't hold up my reputation as D.I.Y, then I'm out of business. Hoseok will start to wonder why he's keeping me around. And he's not just gonna let me go.
"You better." He said stopping at the exit. I waved him goodbye, after taking a good look at him. This is a possible good-bye Park Jimin. We were friends, while it lasted.
On my way to the building, I took the time to notice the scenery around me. The thought of dying scared the shit out of me. But the thought of him not scared me even more. Just like him, I'll be on someone's hit list. Looking around every corner, making sure I'm not being followed. Even though that's exactly what I'm doing. Following. Stalking.
Half an hour passed since I left, and I started to notice a few new details. For instance a stray shirt in the grass, alcohol bottles, and even a small bonfire near a riverbank. Then the music started cloudy by my ears. I was close
"Watch out!"
Like a bird poop, a cup of alcohol burst on my window scaring me out of my seat. I held my hand to my chest when a loud quick left my mouth. I pressed the button to the windshield wipers and watched as the alcohol slowly cleared away. Though it did leave small smudged on my window
"Stupid drunks. Need to watch what they're doing." I cursed under my breath. I reached to restart my car, but my hand froze in its spot. If Suga is here, then certainly his team is. I can't get caught by leaving with my license plate out. I turned the key and pulled my car into the getaway area behind a crowd of trees. The darkness kept my ink-black car discreet from others.
"Hey lady. Did you happen to see a car, with alcohol spilled on it, have you?" A blonde boy with a full cup of beer asked. The cup shook lightly in his hands, while he kept looking behind him. I can tell this wasn't his setting.
"Yes. In fact, that was my car." I said accusingly. His face paled slightly, before turning a dark red.
"I-I didn't mean t-to hit your car. I swear." He apologized. I took the cup from his hand and tossed it on the ground. He looked relieved but did it say it.
"H-Hey! That was my cup!" He shouted in false anger. His acting skills were trashed. If he was in my line of business, he wouldn't last.
"Kid. Don't play dumb. You don't want to be here so just home." I said blandly. He rolled his eyes at my statement.
"Don't you think I would if I could? My friend gave me a ride here. I can't exactly walk. I'll be here all night." He whined. I would've offered to put him out of his misery, but I have a business to do.
I bid him goodbye and made my way off the damaged yard. Entering through the back, was the best way not to go noticed. I squeezed through people that were from drunk, too high, and even naked. But that was only one girl.
I stalked around the corner, eyeing the different people occupying the back yard. Just like the front. There were beer cups and alcohol bottles layering the ground.
"Are you looking for someone?" The blonde boy asked tapping my shoulder. I put my hand over his mouth tightly.
"What are you doing here. Shouldn't you be with your friends?" I asked annoyed. This kid really needs to go home.
"My friends are inexistent. I'm here with my brother. He kind hosts the party. Another reason I can't leave." He sighed. For a split second, my eyes bulged out of my head. He's related to Suga? I could use him around.
"Well good for you. I'm looking for my friend. She invited me here, but I can't find her. And I'm trying to avoid another alcohol cup flying at me." I explained, then eyes him at the end of my sentence. He looked down embarrassed but didn't argue.
"Can we hang, until you do? I don't want to be alone." He asked shamelessly. I would've thought I'm talking to an eleven-year-old kid, and not a full-blown teenager. But I would be stupid to blow this.
"Fine. Help me find my friend, and maybe we'll see your brother along the way." I said grabbing his bicep
"You're looking for my brother too?" He asked confused
"N-no. I just thought you were looking for him." I lied quickly. He didn't ask anything else, and let me lead him through the backyard. There was no sign of Suga, or anyone suspicious. No one but drunk out of their mind teenagers.
We walked into the house, but I could barely stand the smell. Puffs of weed were blown every corner I turned. I covered my nose with my shirt hoping to drown the smell.
"You'll get used to it," Mark muttered in my ear.
Yeah right
I've searched through the whole house. Upstairs, downstairs, front, and backyard. I went low enough to look in the bedrooms. That was a mistake.
"MARKY! Did you get a girlfriend? Finally." A male voice boasted from the kitchen. We both turned around simultaneously.
"SeokJin? Where is everyone?" Mark asked relieved. I didn't know who SeokJin was, but if he knew Mark, then he must work with Suga.
"There in the Basement."
The Basement? Of course, they are!
"But who is this fine young lady?" SeokJin asked eyeing me. I didn't feel as uncomfortable as I was with Mark. He doesn't seem like the type.
"This is-"
"I'm Yvette." I introduced myself. I held out my hand, but Jin shook his head.
"Sorry. Germaphobe." I nodded my head in understanding. I wouldn't want to touch anyone here either.
"You two should come with me. I swear you can get high, by just inhaling this crap." He said in between coughs. I didn't waste a second to follow him out of the kitchen and to the basement. I felt nervous. If Suga was down here, then I'm not only killing this kid's brother. But possibly myself.
"Yoongi. I found your so-called Sag Rat of a brother. And he has a girlfriend? Why didn't you tell me?" SeokJin ranted. And to make matters worse, I locked eyes with the one person I wanted to see last.
