Later in the nighttime as everyone was asleep Lucifer suddenly woke up unable to sleep.

And decided to go check on
Mephisto who was asleep in a spare bedroom. But as he got to the door he noticed it was locked and for some reason immediately felt dread.

There He then started knocking on it and calling out for Mephisto which  woke everyone else up.

Getting worried Lucifer broke the door open and saw that Mephisto was gone and the window was wide open.

Lucifer : damn it....."

Diavolo : we need to f-

Before Diavolo or Barbatos could say anything Lucifer took off to go find Mephisto before he did what he feared he would do.

Meanwhile later Mephisto was deep in the forest somewhere holding a dagger trying to brace himself for what he had to do.

But he was scared he didn't want to die but knew it just had to be done.

So he took a deep a breath and started to push the dagger into his chest where his heart was.
But as the tip Peirce his skin.

The dagger was taken from him and he was turned around and immediately yelled at by Lucifer

Lucifer : WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!?"

Mephisto : Lucifer it has to be done! There's nothing they can do!"

Lucifer : I'M NOT LETTING YOU KILL YOURSELF!"

Mephisto : I get it you don't want to lose anyone but it's either I die or everyone else. You have to accept that....."

Lucifer :....I can't...."

Mephisto : .....if what you said is true if you do love me then you will let me do this....."

Lucifer : that's why I can't let you do this!"

Mephisto : you need to learn to let people go. Please just do this one thing for me....."

Lucifer : ......"

Lucifer couldn't let Mephisto do this. He really loved him and didn't want to lose that so quickly after realizing it.

But he knew he didn't have any other choice. so he held the dagger and said looking at it.

Lucifer : ......you wanted me to do this right?"

Mephisto : yes but you don't h-

Lucifer : no....if it's what you want....how you want to die then I will respect that....."

Mephisto Really?"

Lucifer : yes "

Lucifer then hugged Mephisto and said.

Lucifer : if one of us has to die I rather it be me"

Mephisto : wh-!?

And with that Lucifer immediately stabbed himself in the chest before dropping to ground.

And Mephisto immediately fell to knees not believing what Lucifer just did and trying to help him but nothing he could do could save him.

And as he was coughing up blood he looked over at Mephisto as he was dying and said.

Lucifer : it's disappearing..... that's good......"

Mephisto. : .... what the hell is wrong with you!?..... you have more to live for than me!"

Lucifer : .....heh..... probably.....but I rather.....be dead.....then live without you....."

Mephisto : .....damn it Lucifer....."

Lucifer  : you'll be fine....."

Mephisto  : y-.... Lucifer?..... Lucifer!?"

Lucifer had stop breathing and moving. Finally dying from his wound.

And Mephisto just froze in shock and horror not sure what to do. He couldn't believe Lucifer just sacrificed himself to save him.

But then started to panic and start crying begging for this to not be true.

Mephisto : you can't die! Not right now! You can't!...."

Few minutes later Diavolo and Barbatos arrived and just saw Mephisto sitting on his knees looking at Lucifer's dead body. Looking emotionless.

Lucifer : he killed himself so I would be fine...."

Diavolo: I'm so sorry....."

Mephisto. : Knowing him
why did you have to mention it?....if you didn't he would be alive...."

Barbatos : we didn't imagine he would do this...."

Mephisto then got up and started walking away not seeing any reason to stay around.

Later everyone was called to the castle to explain that Lucifer died.
