Chapter 7: Wow. This is Quite a Long Hallway

"Why do you think Bosses called us?" I asked for Trivia and Pay.

All of us had just woken up two hours ago and had breakfast, when we were summoned to go and meet all three Bosses. The messenger also said that we were supposed to meet him at 10 sharp.

Whatever that means. (I'm not sure if he meant 10 a.m or 10 p.m)

We were walking down the hallways of our secret base. Actually, it was the Crown's secret base. But we were apart of the Crowns. And by the transitive property of equality in math, it made it our secret base.

When I tried to explain it to Trivia and Pay, they weren't amused.

The reason we had a secret base was because we looked cool with it. All the cool people and agents had secret bases, it was one of the main rules of being a secret agent (or "villain" in my case. Though, I don't get why I'm a villain.) Plus, every bad guy in every movie had them as well, proving that it was the first rule of being a super villain.

Other than that, there's also the reason for using this secret base to hide ourselves for the government, police, and Defendants. But that's not important.

"Wait!" I said after no one answered. "Do you think we captured any Defendants?"

"That'll be the first time in forever," Trivia snorted.

The Defendants were our enemies. Actually, not ours, but the Crowns. Which also means ours, by the transitive property of equality, right? Wow, this was confusing.

Anyways...

They, along with the police officers and government, are trying to hunt us down! I don't know why though. Personally, I think they were planning a game of deadly tag with the Crowns, and the police officers were "it".

According to Trivia, however, it was because "the Crowns were a dangerous organization". We aren't that dangerous. All we do is just pull heists, steal objects, and maybe some property destruction and vandalism. That's all! We don't even kill anyone!

At least, Trivia, Pay, and I don't. I'm not sure about the rest of our organization.

Besides, all that blood would stain my blades and daggers. Water wouldn't even wash them out properly. Which means I wouldn't be able to reuse them. And everyone knows we're supposed to recycle, reuse, and reduce.

"Unless they're noobs and amatures, they wouldn't get caught," Pay replied. "Even they're babies can spy better than most functioning people in the world."

"Wait! Their babies are spies!" I asked, surprised. "How come we've never seen them on a mission or try and capture us? Or do they work behind the scenes?"

"It's called exaggeration, idiot," Trivia rolled her eyes at me.

"Ohhhh," I replied. "That makes more sense." More silence. "Anyways, then, why else do you think the Bosses called us?"

"How do you expect us to know?" Trivia asked, examining her nails. "We're not exactly besties with them."

Right... I completely forgot that all three of our Bosses hate us.

We continued to walk in the hallway. We had an entire conversation, but we still hadn't reached the Bosses. How long was this hallway anyway? All I was seeing were doors and doors to random rooms. But there was no end, or dead end.

Wasn't the hallway designed to be a straight line? How come it turned into a circle all of a sudden?

"Hey, did they change the design of this hallway into a circle?" I asked Pay and Trivia.

Neither of them answered.

"I'm going to take that as a sign that you don't know..." I moved onto another question. "Also, how come we're enemies with the Defendants? We did nothing to them. Why do they hate us so much?"

"They're the good guys. We're the bad guys. The good guys and bad guys are enemies." Trivia asked, dragging out each and every word. "What did you expect? Friendship?"

"I don't know. How can we be sure there isn't some secret, deep reason that happened a long time ago in history that's currently causing this. I mean, it's there in every movie and book."

"Then stop reading and watching too much," Trivia replied.

At the same time, Pay said, "This is the real world. Not your imagination."

"Okay..." I narrowed my eyes. "If you say so."

I still didn't believe them. It didn't make sense to hate someone if they're a bad person. We're "bad" (according to the public), and we never killed anyone. We only stole and destroyed. The only thing that came close to killing was kidnapping. After that, the people we kidnapped disappeared for some odd reason.

But we don't do any of the disappearing or kidnapping.

Yet people seem to hate us for something we've never done.

The very long hallway to the Bosses was coming to an end. I could tell because we finally saw a door at the dead end. We all stopped in front of the entry door.

"We're here," I said.

"Thank you for contributing your vast knowledge, Target" Pay now started to roll his eyes. I was starting to think that it was maybe a disease of some sort. First Trivia, now Pay.

"You're welcome!" I smiled.

"Let's just go inside and get this over with," Trivia grumbled, and she pushed the door.

A/N:

Fun fact: there was supposed to be another chapter before this, making this chapter 8. Except I removed that other chapter, since there wasn't much use to it. It was more like a fun scene or filler chapter. And to be honest, I don't really like to include filler chapters.

Anyways, this chapter mostly explains about things. The Crowns, the defendants, etc. Oh, and the fact Target, Trivia, and Pay are villains and their organization is wanted by the government. But that's not important.

What's important is that how long is that hallway? Does anyone want to measure it out?

Have an amazing day/night!
