Oh. I thought a ghost was behind us. Turns out it was just our bosses. That's disappointing.

"You!" the gun in Leader-People's hands pointed at Boss one.

"Yes, me!" our former boss spread his hands open in delight.

"I knew it! These were your spies!" Leader-Person accused us, pointing fingers at Trivia, Pay, and I. "That's how you got access and found out about our base, isn't it?"

"Now now, let's not let our imaginations run wild, shall we?" Boss 1 spoke calmy. "These fools did practically nothing." She gestured at us three ex-Crowns.

"Really, that's very disappointing to hear. I would feel offended, if I didn't feel like I wanted to punch your face," Pay calmly replied in that sentence. Trivia, on the other hand, looked like she was killing someone with her eyes.

Lady Boss scowled at him, but said nothing.

"Then how did you access it?" Leader-Person shouted at the Boss. "It's completely hidden from the likes of you people."

"Simple. I just followed your little minions," Boss 1 pointed at Acra, Veker, and Axis . "They were so obvious when they were driving about with those imbeciles-" he gestured at us "- that we were able to follow them."

"Aha! So we were right! Those were your spies!" Leader-Person was talking about us, like we didn't exist. It was like we were ghosts. Hey, maybe we were!

But I don't remember dying, so I guess we weren't ghosts.

"They aren't our spies. We were using them as bait."

"Like the things you use when going fishing?" I asked. "Because last time I checked, we weren't any sort of fish food."

They both ignored me.

"Then, what do you want?" Leader-Person said. "You can't just attack here and destroy our entire base, while killing some of our agents! That's just... just..."

"Evil? Cruel? Vile? Heatless?" Boss one filled in. "All you so-called heroes are the same. You throw around these words but don't give them any meaning. And yet you try and hurt us with those useless words."

"You guys are monsters," the You've put so many people's lives in danger, even without the attack. Is this not enough?"

Trivia, Pay, and I watched our ex-bosses and the Leader-People verbally fight. It was like they forgot that we were standing right here. Maybe we really were ghosts.

Arca, Axis , and Veker were also watching them. Veker paid close attention to our former bosses. So we were ghosts! But Axis and Acra, on the other hand, were looking at us. I guess that meant we weren't actually ghosts.

"Really? Are we a monster though?" Boss number one questioned. "What if you guys were the ones who attacked us? Then who would be the monster? You or us?"

Leader-Person stuttered. "Y-You guys, of course! You're the ones harming people, not us! We're trying to save you!"

"Does anyone have any popcorn?" Trivia rolled her neck, cracking all of those knuckles. "Things are about to get interesting around here."

The bosses and enemies didn't seem to hear.

"Oop- I found some fruit cake," she took out a bag of fruit cake, shaped like a muffin, which she still had from yesterday's meal. It was given to us as a dessert. Everyone knows that fruit cakes aren't dessert. They have fruit in them. And fruit isn't meant to be eaten as a desert.

"You can't just justify the fact you destroyed and potentially killed a group of people just because they were evil or they were villains," Quicksand (Boss 1) continued."Because in the end, you also put people's lives in harm. Whether they were good, or bad."

"Enough with the boring talk!" Lady Boss shrieked, jumping in between the two of them. "Let's start with the fights and fun stuff!" With a swift move, she unsheated her sword and pointing it at the throat of Leader-Person

"I will give you one warning. You're here now. Let's put an end to this. All you have to do is turn yourself in, and no one will get harmed," Leader-Person stepped back, slowly lowering her gun.

"Too late!" Lady boss jumped in on Leader-Person

"Wha-" the gun was knocked out of her hands

"Time to leave," Trivia turned and dragged Pay and I away from the now-fight. When I turned to get one last glimpse of the battle, I saw the three Crown bosses against the four Defendants.

We were actually really obvious. If anyone was paying attention, they'd be able to see us walking away. We didn't sneak behind any cars, or tip toe. Even our footsteps were loud. Well, mine were, because I was stomping.

But most of the time, our foot stomps were covered by the sounds of the occasional gun shots.

"Target, stop stomping!" Trivia said. But even as she said that, she didn't look annoyed at the fact I was being loud on a stealth mission. She looked impressed that the ex-bosses and leader-people still hadn't seen or heard us.

"You never said I had to walk quietly," I pointed out.

It didn't last long though. The escaping, I mean. Not the stomping. As it turns out, Acra and Axis were watching us.

I only know this because they pointed at us and shouted, "Stop them! They're getting away!"

Here comes your typical hero-villain monologue. Fun, right? Villain say's something that's actually true, and hero say's something quotable and stuff. 

Except this time, the "hero" doesn't say anything inspirational.

Anyways, from what you've seen, who's side are you on? Team Crowns or Team Defendants? You can also be on Team Target (name not official), that's cool too. While I won't say much about the teams, there's a much bigger motive to them than what meets to eye.

You'll learn about it in the later books though. Sorry not sorry.
