Chapter 10: Coffee Shop
*Safia's POV*
Wait. What am I saying? I jumped backwards landing on my bed. Robin is never right! At least I think so. I wasn't necessarily upset about the situation, but tears were uncontrollably coming down my cheeks, making little puddles on my bed. I just laid there, just wanting the bed to open up and let me sink down inside. I was thinking of different scenarios on how this whole team thing would work out on our next mission. If I ever decided to leave my room.
My mind went blank. I didn't want to move it all, breathing slowly, staring at the ceiling. I didn't want to loose focus, I couldn't but two loud knocks on the door broke all of it. I blink a few times before coming to realize that some one was at my door.
I slowly walked up to my door, not wanting to open it because of the current state I was in.
"What?" I shout at the door.
"Look, I guess I'm sorry for calling you a villain back there." A voice spoke blankly from the other side.
Then I came to realize who it was. "Robin? "I gasped.
I just heard a heavy sigh.
"You mean it?" I asked confused.
" I guess... But it's not going to stop me from calling you that in he future! Oh, and it'd be nice if you would give me my glasses back!" I heard him laugh.
I opened my door to be met face to face with the boy blunder. I then put my hand out, and slapped his face as hard as I could. Not realizing that I froze my handprint onto his cheek.
I didn't want to be here anymore. Too much to worry about, and much negativity. I storm past Robin and headed towards the exit not realizing that I was still in my pajamas. A blue onesie with rainbow rubber ducky's on it to be exact. I stop for a minute to think who put these on me? Chills went down my spine, at the thought, and I ran back to my room almost slipping and falling.
After what felt like hours of searching through a endless closet, I finally decided what I wanted to wear. A navy blue T-shirt, some short Jean shorts, and some white converse. I did two braids in my hair to keep it out of my face. Before I put the sunglasses on, I walked over to the mirror in my bathroom, and looked myself over. Then I looked at my eyes. I was in aqua shade on the outside, with a pale icy blue feeling it. My mind started to wonder back to before I became this. A monster. I quickly put my sunglasses back on my face, hiding myself from the world.
I sped over to my bedroom door, opening it as quietly as I could. I slowly peaked my head out to see if the coast was clear. I looked both ways, and saw nothing but a empty hallway. After I crept down the hallway, I looked out to see Superboy, M'gann, and Aqualad monitoring central city. There is no way I could sneak past Superboy, so I decided to blow my cover.
"100 meter dash!" I yell making a run for it.
I look back at them to see them all exchanging confused glances.
I let out a heavy sigh, and walked out the exit. I looked around and had no idea where I would go. I stood there clueless of where I would go. After all this time I lived on the Gotham streets, I could have at least got to know my way around!
"Hey babe!" A flash of yellow and red appeared in front of me.
"What now?" I snarled.
"Going somewhere? I could get you there... In a flash!" He laughed at his out pun.
"Just anywhere but here would be nice" I thought for a second. " and your house!" Knowing he would try.
"Alright babe!" Without warning, he picked me up bridal style, and started running.
Within seconds we were in front of his old, run down looking coffee shop.
"Here we are! Gotham's Finest Coffee!" He presented.
"Why'd you bring me here? I don't have any money!" I raised an eye brow.
"Oh here you go babe!" He pulled a five dollar bill out of a hidden pocket of his costume.
Uh... Thanks? "I cautiously took the five dollar bill.
"Don't spend it all in one place!" He winked at me, speeding off.
I looked at the door, it was a light brown color, but most of the paint was chipped off. I slowly walked over to it and grab the rusty bronze door handle. It was slightly difficult to push the door open, but when I bumped it with my side, then it swiftly flew inward. A ring of a bell filled the air. Silence came upon the whole place, everyone looked at me. Different facial expressions from every group of people. It only lasted a few seconds, Then everyone went back to there meaningless conversations.
I walked up to the counter, and glanced at everything on the menu. Seeing if anything caught my eye. After I made my decision on what I wanted, I walked up to the counter to see a tall thin blonde girl, and a green apron with white horizontal stripes. She had a large smile on her face, and looked at me with dark blue eyes, filled with joy.
"And what could I get for a pretty girl like you?" She offered.
"Just a small mocha latte please." I pointed to the spot where I had found it.
"Right away! That will be $3.47" she smiled at me putting her hand out.
I waited there for a minute or two, and she brought me my drink. She said the usual waiter stuff like have a good day. I just sat down at a small circle wooden table. I just sat there fidgeting with the items at the table. I want to put the TV on the counter and was shocked. Team we were on TV?
But then someone sat down in the chair crossed for me. I lose my focus from the TV and look up to see your boy somewhere around my age. Ruffled jet black hair, pretty fair skin, wearing a green sweatshirt, and black pants. I look at his eyes they were a deep ocean blue color.
"Uh hi?" I spoke to the boy in front of me.
"Hey." He says casually.
"May I help you?" I furrowed my brows.
"Oh you look quite lonely sitting here by your self. And this is Gotham city. It's dangerous to be here in the city on your own!" He spoke.
"OK? "I spoke awkwardly.
"Oh, I didn't properly introduce myself. My name is Dick. Dick Grayson. "
