Since we would be the cover story for the following issue, Jamie and I had agreed to do an official engagement photo shoot to go along with the interview. We met with a photographer and stylists in the city before driving away from civilization to get some private shots in the wilderness. The crew had wardrobe racks for both of us, and we picked out a few different outfits to change into. I'd chosen a couple of stunning dresses, a skirt covered in small flowers, and some satin blouses. Jamie had stuck with dress shirts and ties, black slacks, dark jeans, and a long sleeve gray top. We rode with an entire ensemble of people and for the first time since we'd been together, I felt like a celebrity too.

Jamie kept me close the entire time, not allowing anyone to overwhelm me with the sudden spotlight and the sheer number of people it took to pull off a magazine shoot. But ultimately it was my idea, and his hovering only assured me he'd never let his Hollywood surroundings come between our happiness.

It ended up being a beautiful day filled with laughter and romantic poses. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the previews the photographer showed us. Now we were sitting beside each other on an oversized leather sofa across from a beautiful middle-aged woman named Margaret, with a recorder on the armrest of her chair, and a notebook and pen on her lap. She was the lucky one assigned to interview us. Jamie's publicist and even our therapist promised she was the most experienced and respectful journalist at People Magazine.

"Shall we begin?" she asked.

I tightly squeezed Jamie's hand as a million butterflies took up shelter in my stomach. He sweetly caressed my knuckles with his thumb to calm my nerves. I looked up into his loving gaze as he nodded on our behalf.

"Okay, great. I'll run through the questions you both agreed on, and if you change your mind on a subject, we'll scratch it. Relax and be yourselves, I'm here to shine a positive light on your relationship. Talk to me like an old friend, this is a judgment free zone."

For whatever reason her words helped calm my racing mind and I loosened my grip on his hand, wrapping my free arm around his bicep and crossing my leg toward him. She instantly took note of my stance, writing herself a memo, and I realized then she must've done a thousand couples interviews to be so receptive of our body language.

"First thing's first, everyone will want to know about the proposal. Any details you want included?"

Jamie cleared his throat, as it was a question he could answer best. "I asked her parents' permission when we visited her hometown last summer, months in advance. They're such lovely people, and amazing secret keepers. They didn't hesitate in handing her over."

We both laughed at him before he went on.

"I found the perfect ring not long after, but I kept trying to find the perfect moment to ask. I thought, 'do I do it in front of her family and friends, or my family and friends, or a bunch of strangers?' Then it dawned on me that it would only be perfect if it were just the two of us. So I organized a private room at this beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea in Belfast, where I'm from. I had them set up a path of rose petals from the French doors to a candlelit table. It was truly remarkable the lengths they went to to ensure my vision was met. I wanted her to be blown away."

"And I absolutely was," I added. "It was breathtaking, the most romantic gesture I'd ever received. Although he is Mr. Romance; he outdoes himself constantly."

"Care to elaborate?" she urged. "Besides your engagement, what's the most romantic thing Jamie's done for you?"

He turned to look at me, causing me to giggle and blush simultaneously, which she noted once more. I bit my bottom lip as I thought about all the incredible moments we'd shared.

"It's hard to name a single one, but most recently he recreated said engagement for Christmas."

"How so?"

"He rented a magnificent cabin with a stunning lake view. It had a pre-ornamented tree for the holidays, and a cozy fireplace. He once again organized for it to be decorated with white roses, a bottle of the same wine we'd had at dinner that night in Belfast, and a box of chocolate covered strawberries... Because they're my favorite."

I added that last part to distract from the sexual nature. I most certainly wasn't going to admit to the world what we'd done with said strawberries.

Jamie leaned over and pressed a soft kiss to my temple. Obviously in hopes she'd notice and add it to the article. Mission accomplished.

"I'd do anything to see her glow like she is right now," he admitted.

I mouthed an, 'I love you' to him, and for a brief moment I thought I saw her swooning over us.

"You both get along well with each other's families?" she asked.

"He gets all of his wonderful traits honestly," I replied. "His father is a brilliant, hard-working man who has raised two equally talented daughters and son. They're fun-loving and easy to get along with. I bonded instantly with his sisters."

"Yes, and they gang up on poor, innocent me," he added. We all laughed together before he continued. "Joking aside, her parents and sister have been nothing but accepting of me involving their daughter in my lifestyle. They know protecting her is my top priority, as well as my little girl. No one comes between me and my leading ladies."

"Speaking of," she began.

I took a deep breath to brace myself for the blended family questions. In an act of reassurance, Jamie broke apart our contact to rest his arm across my shoulders, moving his other hand to intertwine our fingers again. He rubbed smooth circles around my upper arm, grounding me.

"Jamie, you have a daughter from a previous marriage. How has it been introducing her to a new relationship?"

"First of all, I'm totally biased when I say she's an amazing child. But honestly, for as little as she is, she's loving, accepting, and carefree. Kelsey shares a wonderful connection with her and it's been a blessing to watch the woman I love bond with my baby girl."

I blinked back the stinging in my eyes at his heartfelt words. He was hijacking what was supposed to be an interview where I bragged about him. However, I wanted to hear what he had to say.

"Secondly, she has adjusted well. Her mother and I share custody, and she understands that we are all a growing family. When she's old enough her mother, Kelsey, and I will help continue a smooth transition."

"So you will be living near her in London?"

Jamie tapped his foot nervously and I instantly felt the tension radiating from him.

"I'd prefer not to publicly discuss my daughter's nor our living arrangements."

Margaret nodded, clearly taken aback by his sudden discomfort. Technically he wasn't wrong, we didn't agree to discuss the subject in our pre-meeting. Although he had been the one to bring up her custody, he was pumping the breaks on that conversation.

"Certainly, my apologies. Back on topic. Kelsey, how has it been gaining a daughter?"

The way she worded her question rubbed me the wrong way and I hoped she didn't print it like that. She wasn't my daughter to gain; she had a mother and I would never try to get in between their relationship. What we shared was separate and would unfold naturally as she grew older. I bit my tongue on that thought and instead responded honestly.

"She is the sweetest little girl! I've grown to love her immensely in the time we've spent together. Like her daddy, she's made me a better person, and I'm amazed at her capacity to welcome me into her world. I simply adore her. She is blessed to have two amazing parents, and I can only thank them for giving me the honor of being part of her life."

Turning my head to gauge his reaction, he caught me in a swift kiss on the lips, and I knew that one wasn't for show. It was his thanks for what I'd confessed.

"What does she call you?" Margaret asked.

Jamie took a breath to answer for me, but I spoke over him. "She calls me Kelsey. Someday maybe that'll change, and that will be her decision alone. For now I'm simply looking forward to being her step-mom and lifelong friend."

"I think you have enough about my daughter now," Jamie said. "Can we please move on?"

"Of course. Any wedding plans you'd like to share?"

We'd recently settled on a date, August 8; the day Jamie moved into my apartment. We wanted it to be a date that meant something to us while also giving us plenty of time to prepare our perfect day.

I decided to go ahead and take control of the interview. "It'll be a small ceremony in a secluded location. It's more important for us to have our closest family and friends there than to make a big spectacle out of it. That's not who we are; we're laid back and easygoing. We want to celebrate our love with a night of fun and simple pleasures."

"Do you want to put the date out there?" she asked.

"Late summer, early fall," I answered.

She nodded, understanding we didn't want to tell. "Have you already found the dream dress? Other details you want to give readers?"

I squeezed Jamie's hand to reassure him I wouldn't give too much away. "Well, I haven't found the dress yet, because I haven't been looking." I chuckled. "I know what style I'm looking for, but I can't say with the groom present."

Jamie and I exchanged knowing smiles.

"She'll be my dream come true no matter what she wears," he said.

He was determined to brag about me. I kept talking before Margaret had time to respond to his romantic comment.

"And he'll be my knight in shining armor. We chose Tiffany blue for the wedding color with white accents and flowers galore. His daughter has agreed to be our lovely flower girl; although, I think she's more excited about getting to dress like a princess than the job itself."

We all laughed.

"It'll be a special memory for the three of you." Her sweet comment was a welcomed relief. She hadn't interjected her own opinions until then.

"Have you picked a honeymoon location?" she went on.

"I have," Jamie said, causing me to quickly turn toward him. He winked. "But it's a secret. Not even she knows what I have planned."

I shook my head with a satisfied smile. "See? My romantic man."

There was nothing I wanted to do more than to kiss him passionately right then and there, but I resisted. I couldn't believe he'd already started the ball rolling on our honeymoon and clearly didn't want me to know the scoop. His never ending surprises made me feel like one in a million.

"Switching gears, you both seem to avoid the spotlight and speculation regarding your personal lives. Not many articles are written about your relationship. Kelsey, how do you handle having to share him with the world and sometimes intimacy with other costars?"

I swallowed hard, trying to gather the right way to word it without sounding insecure or naïve.

"Ultimately it's his job and I treat it as such. From the day we met and I realized the caliber of his success, I've understood how hard he's worked to get where he is and how hard he is working to maintain his career. Some people have 9 to 5 routines, some work 12-hour shifts, and others get to pretend to be someone else for a living.

Jamie is amazing at keeping work life and real life separate. He'll share interesting tidbits with me about set locations or certain scenes he's filmed, but for the most part I'm only here to support him in every endeavor and watch him grow professionally. He has his career, and I have mine. We talk about the ins and outs of both then go back to discussing our everyday lives like any other couple."

He lifted our joined hands to kiss the back of mine. All of his silent gestures we're coaxing me along, and were his way of trusting my responses.

"Are you working on a particular project you're excited about?" She was asking me specifically. I knew it was because no one had ever actually questioned what I did for a living, and it was her way of kindly bringing up the subject. She was respectful about it, and had maybe grown a little fond of us.

"I am!" I replied. "I'm very excited to announce I've been working with a brilliant agent in London to get my first book published. We teamed up with an equally talented publisher and my debut collection of short stories should hit the market sometime early next year, with some small promotion later this year."

"Oh wow, you're a writer?" she asked. "I won't put this question in the interview, but now I understand why you were concerned with the way the article is worded in editing."

"Yes, I'm somewhat of a control freak when it comes to words. Especially words that involve my fiancé and me."

"Best of luck with your writing, I totally understand what you mean." We shared a small chuckle.

Jamie cleared his throat to interrupt. "Kelsey is an incredible author, her work ethic is unrivaled. I'm beyond proud of her for following her passion and making her own dreams come true. She inspires me every day to do the same and I know she'll inspire millions of readers, too. I can't wait to watch her career take off."

"I love you," I blurted, kissing him quickly on his stubbly cheek. He blushed, maybe because that time I'd said it for her to hear.

"Does it offer you flexibility?" Margaret asked.

I wasn't sure exactly where she was headed with that train of thought, but I followed her.

"It does. Jamie and I are truly lucky that my job affords me the ability to still work no matter where we are. When he was filming in Belfast, I had many opportunities to write. Being able to travel with him has been a blessing. In the future our schedules might not always match up, but finding alone time for us between jobs has, and always will be, top priority."

"Jamie, what's it like being with someone who isn't in the business?"

"Refreshing!" He laughed and Margaret smiled at me. "Look, it's never been about that for me. I'm a simple man who loves his family and friends and has always wanted to act for a living. Now that I get to do that, like Kelsey said, it's my job. I go to work and when I come home I still have those same family and friends by my side. I don't feel the effects of Hollywood in my normal routine. I get to work with really wonderful people then go home and spend time with my really wonderful fiancée.

There are no pretenses with her. She doesn't care about the spotlight and doesn't keep up with gossip. We both try to keep a balance in our life. I've been amazed by how Kelsey has handled my lifestyle with class and grace. She loves me unconditionally and embraces the extra noise surrounding me. I'm not sure there's anything better than that."

"You guys sound like any other couple in love, except you're both incredibly grounded. It's beautiful to witness. How did this relationship even come about? It seems like a union of two linked souls."

Wow, I loved her for that comment. I almost told her, too. Nothing made me prouder than knowing the love we had for each other was palpable.

"We've gotta give it up to fate," I said. "Because that's what this is. We didn't meet in some grand fashion, at like a beautiful event where we made eyes from across the room before finally working up the courage to say hello."

"Quite the opposite," Jamie intervened. "We literally met in a café in New York, both looking for a caffeine high in hopes it'd encourage us to work on the projects we'd came there for. She shared her table, we chatted over coffee, and as soon as I heard her infectious laugh I knew I wanted to see her again, make her do that again."

Jesus he was killing me with his sweet confessions. He'd been more open with Margaret and Dr. Bailey than he'd been with anyone else regarding our relationship. Or at least anyone I got to witness him brag to.

"Any advice for other new couples in the business?" she asked.

Jamie chuckled. "How can anyone give advice on love? We all experience it differently. But I think when you know, you know, and you have to do everything in your power to hold onto it and protect it. Relationships are messy, especially when you have millions of strangers breathing down your back, but when you have the right person standing beside you, you'll know. Because if you're lucky enough to find him or her, you'll realize that everything that happened in your life prior to them led you to them. I've never been happier or more in love than I am with Kelsey."

I wiped at the tears that managed to escape. He turned so I could kiss him, and I no longer cared who was in the room. The interview had gone exactly how I hoped it would and I was finally ready to let the world in. He'd trusted me blindly and his pay off was fast approaching.

"That was beautiful," Margaret admitted. "You are one lucky lady, but I have to say, I think you're a pretty lucky man. I've sat through many awkward interviews where couples couldn't interact or pick up where the other left off, and that's not what I witnessed here. There's nothing superficial about either of you and I truly, off the record, wish you nothing but a life filled with this strong love and pure happiness."

"Thank you for making this as painless as possible," I joked.

"It was my pleasure. Before I let you go, I'd like to add a fun side note in the article. I'm going to ask you both some rapid fire questions and I want you to answer with the first thing that comes to mind."

I looked at Jamie to see if he was in, and he shrugged with a nod.

She took that as her cue. "Jamie, what's your nickname for Kelsey?"

He smiled widely as I watched him. "Um, I don't think she has a specific one. I usually go with 'baby' or 'Kels.' My friends call her Kelso, I guess that counts."

I giggled and bumped his shoulder playfully.

"Kelsey, what's a quirky fact about Jamie that you can share?"

He bit his bottom lip, trying to read my thoughts with his gaze.

"I can think of a couple," I said. "He always scratches the side of his face when he's anxious. He pinches the bridge of his nose when he's embarrassed. Oh! And he always covers his face with both hands when he laughs."

Jamie shook his head, stifling the belly laugh I knew he was holding back. "Fair enough," he said.

"How do you know when she's upset?" Margaret asked.

"Easy, she won't look at me," he answered. I rolled my eyes and she chuckled. "She has a really intense gaze that I love and get lost in, but when she's mad or sad she'll look literally anywhere else. Which is a good thing, because I don't have to spend time in the doghouse for not recognizing it."

I nudged his knee. "For the record, he's never spent any time in the doghouse, don't let him fool you."

Margaret's smile was as wide as Jamie's. "Okay finally, three words to describe each other. Kelsey's first."

"Oh man, um..." I tapped my chin. "Protective, romantic, and devoted."

"Jamie?"

He scratched the side of his beard, and she looked over at me, picking up on the sign I'd just told her meant he was anxious.

"Brilliant, attentive, and exquisite."

I rubbed my thumb over his as his eyes met mine with a wink.

"Thank you both for being so easy to work with," she concluded.

"Thank you for respecting our wishes," I replied.

"Completely understandable. Is there a quote you'd like me to use for the cover?"

She stretched her notebook toward us as Jamie and I looked over her quick hand notes.

"This one," he said, pointing to it.

It was the one from his flawless confession; I've never been happier or more in love.

Jamie and I busted through our apartment door, all hands and mouths. He tightly held my face as his tongue slipped between my lips in a passionate kiss. We stumbled our way through the living room, bumping into furniture and walls as he walked me backward toward our bedroom.

We were both ready to pounce on each other the moment we left the interview. He'd said such romantic things about our relationship and me; I wanted to pay him back for it all night long.

I broke us apart so I could catch my breath, quickly lifting my shirt over my head and dropping it to the floor in the hallway. He watched me intensely, following suit and leaving his behind.

Unable to resist the urge to feel his warm skin any longer, I jumped into his arms as he laughed. He held my thighs against his waist while I ran my fingers through his soft hair, our lips tightly locked.

My gasp interrupted our connection as he dropped us to the bed, his knees resting beside my hips. I reached up for his belt loop, but he shook his head. Before I could react to the denial, his mouth fell to my neck as he sucked and licked his way down its side to my chest.

"I don't think..." He pressed his wet lips against the fabric of my bra.

"You understand..." He grabbed my arm "Sit up."

I did as I was told, biting my lip to suppress my anxious giggle. I dropped my hands to his sculpted abs, running my fingers over every muscle, feeling him tremble at my touch. He made speedy work of unclasping my bra and pulled it from my chest.

"How much I love you." His lips crushed mine as we sat there, him in my lap.

I scraped my nails down his back before he pushed me to lie down again. "Mmm, baby," I moaned.

He left a hundred kisses across my stomach, nipping at the soft skin above my pants. "So fucking much," he whispered. The sensation ignited the goosebumps as I squirmed.

His fingers fumbled with my button and zipper, and I raised my hips as he also stripped me of my underwear at the same time.

"Get naked," I ordered.

He smiled, standing at the end of the bed. "In a hurry, boss?"

"I certainly am," I teased. "Let me show you bossy."

My bravery was overshadowed by the view of him slowly undoing his pants and sliding them down his long legs. I licked my lips, noticing the outline of him through his boxers.

"You're so beautiful right now," he said. "I could stare at you from this angle forever."

I seductively lifted one of my legs to his chest and he caught my ankle in his hand. "That's not what I want though."

"Is that so?" He smiled. "What do you want, Miss Bossy Butt?"

"For you to fuck me." His eyes widened and his humor dissipated at my deadpan response.

He said no more, only stepped out of his boxers and leaned back down on the bed to hover over me.

"Everything you said today," he began, but I cut him off.

"Can we do that later? Everything you said today really made me want to take you in front of her."

"My sexy exhibitionist," he muttered. "But shut up for a second."

He lowered his hips and I felt him right where I craved him the most. His torture was deliciously evil. I closed my eyes with a moan.

"I'll never be able to thank you enough for what you said. Now the world knows you'll always be mine. You amaze me, and I can hardly wait to make you my wife. There are no words for you, baby. I'm speechless."

"Good then, tell me with your body."

He shook his head before latching onto my lips and slowly inching himself into me.

"Yesss, Jamie. Please." I raised my hips to match his pace as his hot breaths cascaded down my neck.

"I love you, too," I whispered in his ear before gently biting it.

So I'm not talented at photoshop or I would've made an actual magazine cover, but I hope you liked the pictures and small snippet included! Please don't forget to VOTE and leave me your reactions! Xo
