The next morning, Aurora is awake before Jonah. She sighs, knowing she can't hide in his room forever and feeling guilty for ruining last night's dinner with her family drama.

Extracting herself from Jonah's side, she leaves the room quietly, not wanting to wake the exhausted boy. There was no telling how late he had stayed up, stressing himself out over her; the thought of it only adds to Aurora's guilty conscience.

Reaching the first floor, she turns left, remembering where Jonah said the kitchen is.

Reaching said door, she pauses to brace herself. Swinging it open, the room - much to her surprise, considering how many people live in the house - is completely devoid of life.

Two plates of French toast rest on the island next to a folded piece of paper. Grabbing the note, Aurora leans against the counter as she reads it, finding herself too queasy to even look at the food.

Jonah and Aurora,

Your father and I are taking Zebulon to the park for a few hours and, afterwards, we're stopping by the grocery store. Esther Grace is visiting one of her friends.

The four of us will be home this evening. We just wanted to give you two some time alone while Aurora recovers from last night's 'incident'.

If you need anything, just call.

- Mom

Despite how small the action seems, Aurora's heart warms at the realization they took her into consideration while making today's plans.

Sitting the note aside, she turns around to face the coffee pot, fully prepared to teach herself how to work the expensive looking thing. Until she notices a pot is already made.

"Good morning," Jonah greets, causing her to jump as he drops into one of the barstool seats.

"Morning," she murmurs, smiling softly. The smile instantly turns into a frown as she notices the bags under his eyes. "How much sleep did you get last night?"

"I'm not the concern here," Jonah waves away her question as he takes a bite out of his breakfast. "Were you having nightmares last night? You were extremely restless."

"We are not focusing on me right now, Marais," Aurora snaps, hating the fact that he's trying to put her before his own health. "No offense, but you look like shit. When you're done eating, I expect you to drag your ass back up those stairs to take a nap."

"I don't need to ta-"

A loud knock resonates throughout the house, cutting off Jonah's protests. Pushing the barstool back, he goes to stand but Aurora stops him.

"I'll answer the door," she states, subtlety dodging his attempt to kiss her on the cheek as she walks by. "Eat your breakfast."

She's in the main hallway before he can argue, running a hand through her hair as, both, a nervous habit and an attempt to smooth it down.

Not giving herself any of said time to worry about who could be on the other side, she swings the heavy oak door open, gasping as she spots a familiar couple standing on the porch.

"BLONDIE!"

Her dreary mood instantly brightens. Corbyn drops all of the bags he's holding as Aurora throws herself into his arms, instantly engulfed in his comforting embrace.

Aurora knows it's hypocritical of herself to avoid Jonah's affection and welcome another's, but she can't bring herself to accept his actions just yet, not so soon after an old would has been reopened. Romantic affections aren't what she needs to heal right now; she needs time.

"I'm so glad you're okay," the boy mutters, squeezing her tightly. "I've been worried sick."

"Tis true," Addilyn confirms as Aurora lets go of Corbyn to hug her. "He nearly had an aneurysm when you didn't answer your phone."

"Aurora, who's here?" Jonah calls out. Appearing in the doorway, he looks slightly taken aback as his eyes land on Corbyn and Addilyn. "I didn't think you were serious when you said you had booked a flight."

"I finally convinced Jonah to take a nap," Aurora sighs, dropping onto the couch next to Corbyn. "Where did Addi go?"

"She went to take a shower and nap," the blond informs her, setting his phone aside and grabbing the bag by his feet. "Now, I'm not going to demand that you tell me what happened between you and your parents that got you so upset. You can tell me when you're ready. However, not knowing the situation didn't stop me from buying you a gift."

"You didn't have to buy me anything, Corbyn," she states firmly, using his actual name so he'll know she's being serious. "Your presence in general is more than enough."

"Well, if you don't want it," Corbyn teases, scooting the gift bag away from her. "I can take it ba-"

"No, no, I never said I didn't want it," she quickly backtracks, reaching for the gift.

"Glad you're excited," Corbyn laughs, placing the gift in her lap.

Throwing the tissue paper aside, she delves into the bag.

Inside sit two stuffed animals that, as she pulls out of the bag, she quickly realizes to be Bambi and Thumper. Underneath them lay a large pile of Disney movies.

Lunging forward, Aurora tackles Corbyn into a hug, not letting go as they fall off the couch and onto the floor.

"Thank you," she murmurd, squeezing him tightly.

"It was no problem," Corbyn says, picking himself up off the ground and dragging me up as well. "Want to have a Disney Marathon?"

"I'm offended that you have to ask," she giggles, pulling a blanket around her as she sits back on the couch.

"My bad," Corbyn chuckles, putting Bambi in the DVD player and snagging a pack of gummies out of the stash of food sitting on the coffee table.

As soon as the blond sits back down, the front door swings open, revealing an ecstatic Esther Grace.

"WAKE UP, LOSERS!" She yells, her voice echoing throughout the house. "WE'RE GOING SHOPPING!"

"WHERE ARE WE GOING?" Aurora asks, her voice unnecessarily loud. Corbyn winces, covering his ears after pausing the movie.

"TOYS R US!"

"Then, what are we waiting on?" Corbyn questions, immediately scrambling to his feet. He dashes off towards the stairs, presumably to go get Addilyn. "ADDI, WAKE UP! I WANNA GET TOYS!"

"JONAH, WAKE UP! I WANNA BUY A TINY CAR!"
