CHAPTER TWO, THE COMET AND UNEXPECTED VISITORS
DELILAH FELT STEFAN'S EYES BORE INTO THE SIDE OF HER HEAD, SHE KNEW SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT DAMON BEING A VAMPIRE OR THE ONE WHO KILLED HER MOM BUT WHAT WAS DONE WAS DONE AND NO AMOUNT OF AVOIDANCE COULD MAKE IT GO AWAY BECAUSE HER SECRET WOULD BE REVEALED SOONER OR LATER. The brunette had no idea what Mr Tanner was talking about but she figured it was something to do with the comet tomorrow until he caught Stefan and Elena making heart eyes to each other. As soon as the bell rang Lilah shot out of her chair making her way to her locker.
The Salvatore had caught onto Lilah avoiding him but he needed to know what she was in case she posed any threat to him or everyone around them so that is how she ended up with him blocking her path. "Look Stef. Can I call you Stef? It's sticking either way. I don't know what you want but if it's about last night then like you said I was too drunk and had no idea what I was saying," she told him while clutching onto her books tighter. When Lilah lies she clutches things whether it be a pen, a book, a glass, you name it, she's either almost breaking it or bending it.
"So why are you avoiding me then?" Stefan asked.
"I'm," she cleared her throat. "I'm not avoiding you as such, I'm just staying out of your way because you probably think I'm a weirdo."
"No. I just think you know what I am and that you're also a part of my world," he told her watching as she looked down at the floor finding her converse extremely interesting. "All I want to know is what you are, if you are a danger to me, yourself or anyone else and what you know about my brother."
"I am a danger to you," Lilah nodded, standing on her tiptoes to whisper. "A werewolf bite can kill a vampire and as far as I'm aware there is no cure. And as for your brother I made a promise to myself to kill him for killing my mom in front of me and then making me trigger my curse which left me an orphan." The girl didn't stay to see Stefan's reaction, instead she left the vampire to let her words sink in while she went to find Bonnie and Caroline.
🌕
Bonnie, Caroline, Elena and Lilah were all at the Mystic Grill, Bonnie was talking about her Grams, "I was speaking to Grams and she said the comet is a sign of impending doom. The last time it passed over Mystic Falls, there was lots of death. So much blood and carnage it created a bed of paranormal activity."
Lilah could tell Caroline was about to say something bitchy by the way she nodded, "Mm, yeah and then you poured Grams another shot and she told you about the aliens." The blonde then turned to Elena, "So then what?"
"So then, nothing."
"You and Stefan talked all night. There was no sloppy first kiss, or touchy-feely of any kind?" Caroline asked.
"Nope, we didn't go there."
"Not even a handshake? I mean, Elena, we are supposed to be your friends. Okay? You are supposed to share the smut."
"We just talked for hours," Elena told the blonde.
"Okay, what is with the blockage? Just jump his bones already. Okay, it's easy, boy likes girl, girl likes boy, sex."
"Profound," Elena said and Caroline hummed in agreement.
Elena turned to look at Lilah, "What were you and Stefan talking about earlier?"
"Don't worry, Elena. I'm not after him, you can keep him," Lilah replied. "I was apologising for spilling my drink on him last night."
Elena nodded before getting up. "Where are you going?" Bonnie asked her.
"Caroline's right," she replied, looking at the blonde. "It is easy. If I sit here long enough I'll end up talking myself out of it instead of doing what I started the day saying I was going to do."
"Right then," Lilah chuckled. "I'm going to go home."
"Wait!" Caroline stopped her. "I never told you about the guy from last night."
"What guy?" she asked, sitting back down.
Caroline went into detail about what he looked like but didn't understand why Lilah's face paled so much that she looked as though she was going to be sick, "Dee, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," she nodded convincingly but Caroline saw straight through her.
"You don't look well, are you sick?" Caroline asked her again but this time she leant over the table to feel her forehead for a temperature.
"I think I should just go home," Lilah told her, grabbing her stuff.
"I'm coming with you then," Caroline stated, concern clear in her voice. "I don't want you passing out or something when no one's there."
"Care, I'll be fine," the brunette attempted to convince the girl with a smile.

Lilah decided to stay in the house and watch tv with some ice cream rather than sit outside and watch the comet. There was a knock at the door and the girl half expected it to be Caroline but her jaw dropped slightly at who it actually was, "Dec?"
"It's me Dee," Declan nodded. "Thought I'd come and check on my baby sister since I got a call from Sheriff Forbes telling me your grades were slipping again."
"Where have you been?" Lilah asked. Since Declan was older than Delilah he had moved away a few years ago but couldn't take Lilah with him.
"New York, Seattle, Boston," he began listing off watching his sister sit back down on the couch with a confused look. "What are you doing?"
"Watching tv?" she answered but it sounded more like a question. Declan shook his head and walked over to her, grabbing her hand and her blanket then leading her out to the front porch where they sat and waited.
"I'm sorry," he told her. "I'm sorry I never warned you about the curse and I'm sorry I left."
"I'd have left too but I'm not leaving until I kill him," Lilah leaned her head on his shoulder
"He's here?"
"I think so," she shrugged. "You remember Vicki Donovan don't you?" she asked and he nodded. "He attacked her last night."
"If I turn on the next full moon and I go for him. I can kill him," the determination in her voice scared Declan, he'd never seen her like this before but then again she had never wanted to kill anyone before. "There is no cure for a vampire who has been bit by a werewolf. Well none that I've been made aware of."
"Then do it," Declan shrugged.
SIlence fell over the two of them Declan looked down at her with a small smile on his face as he saw how mesmerised the teen was by the comet that was passing over them. "Don't leave me again," she whispered.
"I won't," he promised. "I'm staying and I'm going to teach you all there is to being a hunter as well as a werewolf."
